Half pizza, black olives, mushrooms, marinara, Alfredo sauce mixed...surprisingly, no extra charge for that and the half pizza was a good size to split if you're also splitting the salad. I'm originally from RI and I miss the pizza there...this was one of the better pizzas I've had since I moved Bristol, Tn 3 years ago. Onto the drinks...Jennifer, the bar tender was nice. Always come here when I'm in town--having a pizza and beer on the patio is one of my favorite things to do in the warm weather, especially after a run on The Greenbelt. My go-to is pizza with red sauce, banana peppers, and cherry tomatoes. They always have solid draft list too. Friendly service and entirely family-run. Live music on weekends. Not many pizza options in the area, but this is by far the best one (the other options fall into the Pizza Hut/Dominoes realm). Big fan of the interior, too. Some of the best pizza we've ever eaten! That crust is coal-fired to a nice crispy golden brown. He had the Coal Miner's Combo (half is more than enough for one person. I had the 1/2 of The Crooked Road without the onions. It's worth the 100 mile round trip drive from home just to get this pizza. The beer was good too. He had The Dragon's Tail IPA. I had the Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager. This is a mom and pop pizza place. Ver clean and absolutely delicious pizza. Leave a better-than-average tip for this super service and food. This place was awesome, the pizza is the best thing I've tasted so far in Southwest Virginia. Being a New England, it is so hard finding good pizza that is comparable. This wood fire Pizza is by far equal, if not better than the pizza in New England. They use their own homemade pizza dough, I believe. It was delicious, I love a crunchy crust. Cooked perfectly, the wood fired gives it a really flavorful crust that no conveyor belt pizza oven can duplicate. They had various drink specials and one of the drink specials was a dead Nazi. Very interesting name. It may be if there was a little less Rumpelmint it would be better and give you 2 Nazis instead of 2 1/2. It really tasted like Scope. Kinda tough. The service was awesome. The waitresses and the bartender were really attentive and were really helpful with food choices. They also had some good draft beers. The restaurant was a large open space with 2 sections. A eating area and a bar room area. Lots of repurposed stuff, an interesting place. Definitely a great place to grab a beer and a bite to eat. read more

Had an excellent meal here! The wings are amazing deep in flavor and juicy and tasty (not dry like all those other places) and the pizza was incredible, very similar to a stone fired oven but "coal fired" instead (a fitting meal in coal country). Between the restaurant and this quaint little award winning town, this is 100% worth diverting off the highway for a short stop or a longer stay. Tried a pizza today. Was very close to $20 with tax. The building is awesome. The pizza was meh at best. The dough was thick and gummy with an overload of corn meal. Reminded me of DoGiorno frozen pizza dough.. The toppings were hidden under the cheese. The cheese went over the edge on the pizza, so there was no crust edge. The crust was lacking any crisp or crunch. I have has pizza from Totonno's and Lombardi's and this is nothing anywhere close. A coal fired oven should run between 600-900 Fahrenheit, but this pizza cooked very slowly- likely closer to 450F. It seemed like the dough was made with a very low gluten flour. No crunch- just chewy mess. A portly man with an earring was snacking while making dough balls- food safety issues. The service was zero, they simply delivered a pie. There is no way this restaurant will survive at this price point in such an economically depressed region. I get the feeling the owners are restaurant newbies. This pizza had a food cost of maybe 10% at best. Most restaurants shoot for 28%. It is sad to see such a glorious pizza oven being operated with such mediocrity. read more

Found this gem after hiking at nearby Natural Tunnel State Park. We ordered a pizza and the breadsticks with beer cheese. All the food arrived at the table piping hot. The breadsticks were probably the best we've ever eaten. The crust had the perfect crisp to it and the cheese was gooey deliciousness. Best of all, though, was the wonderful flavor provided by a generous sprinkling of rosemary. Yum! The beer cheese to dip it in was legit! Our pizza also had the perfect crispness to the crust and wonderful flavors. We got one with Alfredo sauce, spinach, mushrooms, sausage, etc. It was so yummy! We washed it all down with some ice cold beer. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because our breadsticks and dip arrived after our pizza. Perhaps that was on me as I didn't specify we wanted it as an appetizer. Regardless, this will be our go to spot for good eats anytime we're in the area read more

I feel like I've been waiting all my life for this place to open. The food is incredible - great pizzas with amazing crusts, and I love how many inclusive vegetarian options they have! Their beer selection is great too. I've complained for years that we didn't have anywhere I could get great beer and great pizza and now we do! Staff are very friendly and it's easy to order takeout to keep socially distanced, but I have noticed that those making the pizzas aren't always masked, which is a little concerning.
