We are new to town so this was our first experience with pizza Village. We had heard good reviews so we thought we'd try it it was a Friday evening and it was almost an hour wait from the time that we ordered before it was delivered. This is acceptable to us because again it is Friday night in a college town. However what is not acceptable is waiting almost an hour and then for your pizza toppings to be slid off into the corner of the box off of your pizza that's not acceptable. I'd say the pizza itself is just OK it's nothing to write home about definitely had better will not be back. read more

I'm gluten-free and I ordered a gluten-free pizza and it was actually 100% no cross contamination. I had a great experience eating at this place. The food is cost efficient. I also want to add they have the old-school 50 Cent machines for tattoos and I absolutely love that part about this placewill be back for more pizza and tattoos. Ha ha ha. read more

I would not recommend going here. The pizzas are small and over priced. They taste bland and are overcooked. We also ordered boneless barbecue wings. However, their wings are chicken nuggets with a bowl of barbecue sauce that you can dip them in. Definitely not what we expected. We will not be going back here. We stopped into this restaurant looking for a local, family owned restaurant. We were not disappointed! The staff was friendly and atmosphere was cozy and clean. We ordered one pizza on their regular crust and another on a more keto friendly cauliflower crust. Both were really good! We will definitely make this a regular weekly stop! read more

In from out of town. Had the buffet at 1:00pm during the end of lunch. Cute place that's great for kids and has multiple tvs. Music was good. Salad bar was good but pizza was hard, cold, and not good. Cheese was bland, sauce was bland, crust was delicious though. Service was very good and very friendly. read more

Wow. Where to start. Terrible atmosphere, hair in the salad, and pretty bad pizza...but the restroom was clean. Stopped for the buffet and noticed only 2 hard (hour old) pieces available. 2 new pies came out after 5 minutes (yay) so I got 2 fresh slices. Then we waited for 15 minutes with no pizza to eat ON A PIZZA BUFFET. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience and a waste of $20. read more

Always love their hamburger and mushroom pizza, but there is a little known ham sandwich that they serve that I get every time I visit home! The people that own it are kind and helpful. We ordered a BBQ pizza. The pizza was awful. They poured AT LEAST half a bottle of horrible BBQ sauce on it. The crust was hard and hurt your teeth. We each had only one or two bites. When we complained the manager said it was our fault. Rude. But we were able to re order. That one was awful too. The meat tasted like it had been sitting out all day. And again the crust was awful. By far the worst pizza I've ever had. The worst $30 I've ever spent. I'd rather have a totinos pizza from the store. read more

I am not from Ottawa (Chicago native) but I recently moved to Overland Park and I have family in Ottawa who suggested that I give this place a try. They told me that it had been around for forever and that it was a city favorite. I'm not sure if Ottawa just has bad taste or what, but this place is a joke. The only thing I liked about it was the fact that it had a hometown feel and that the bathrooms weren't filthy, which seems to be a problem in Kansas, so that's why they get two stars. Their lunch "buffet" was a total joke in terms of what was available and taste, the wait staff seemed spacey and unwilling to help, and I could hear a man yelling in the back and barking orders. I'm not sure if I was spoiled by Chicago pizza, and even Pizza Hut pizza, but this place just didn't even come close to doing it for me. Felt nostalgic and wanted to stop in at the pizza place of my childhood. Worst decision of the week. The pizza is not the same. You could get a tastier pizza from the freezer of a grocery store. Originally we asked for 2 adult buffets and 1 child nd you. Lets talk about the lettuce for a minute. Cheap bagged, brown shredded lettuce. We finished our salads and there was still not any pizza available. When there finally was, they only put 2 small pizzas out at a time. We were too slow to get any before the other patrons cleared out the 2 small pizzas. So instead of waiting even longer for pizza, we decided to order our own pizza. Again, not the tasty pizza with the fresh ingredients of the past. The homeless and hungry would scoff at this pizza. Now the service...it was worse than the food. The owner charged us for two large salads at $7 each because we put the salad on a plate. Had we known or been told, we could have put it in a bowl and it would have been $5. Didnt offer any compensation for our wait. Charged us for the pizza we ordered, the 3 salads. And 1 buffet because the kid did take one slice of pizza from the buffet as we were waiting. The child is 5 years old. The child buffet is about $5 for children. 6 and under. She charged us for an adult buffet for him. Didn't even bother asking. So for 2 tiny salads, 3 drinks, a child's buffet, and a 13" pizza they charged us $40. When I tried to bring this up, the owner became very hostile and slammed the pen and receipt down in front of me. Never an apology for the slow service or over charging for the child's buffet. When I advised the woman that I would be leaving a review on yelp, she remarked that she would take pictures of our plates and show all the food we wasted. "All the food" was part of a salad and half a slice of pizza that the kid did not finish. I would not recommend anyone patronize this sorry excuse for a business. read more
