It was convenient to grab a bite to eat after shopping in town and before taking a little rest before going back out again. I ordered a pizza with fresh tomatoes, burrata, and fresh basil and it was fantastic! My husband enjoyed his sausage pizza as well. Service was good, but like most of the Italian restaurants we visited, it took quite a while to catch someone's attention to pay our bill. That being said, I would absolutely recommend eating here.

The casoncelli alla Bergamasca was the highlight of the meal. They also paired the perfect wines with our food. Sant'Orsola Pizzeria has hands down the best pizza I've ever tasted... in my life!…read more From the dough to the toppings, every bite tasted magical. The dough was crusty on the outside (and under the slices), fluffy and light on the inside, and stayed moist even as the pizza cooled down. Unlike Neapolitan pizzerias I've been to in the USA, the sheer size of the pizzas and amount of toppings here were very generous. There was so much cheese! I got the namesake pizza Sant'Orsola, which came with mozzarella di bufala, ricotta, speck, and peperoncino. It was amazing. Their menu is very extensive, with usual selections like Margherita, 4 Formaggi, Diavola, etc... in the €8-10 range, and a large selection of specialty pizzas in the lower €10s. These very large individual pizzas can feed 2 people or one very hungry pizza lover like me... and even then, I had to take half of my pizza home. This is definitely a must-try in the lovely city of Bergamo.

Step inside through the modest but pretty frontage, and you are in a timeless place, where the ancient hand carved shelves groan with wine and the old marble counter is topped with delicacies to nibble upon as you enjoy your glass of wine. To the rear lies a tiny internal dining room where you can take a more substantial meal, and on through here is a courtyard with a few more tables. Everything is beautifully laid out in an exceptionally tasteful manner. The dining aspect of Cozzi's has taken on a more serious aspect in recent years, and today it can lay claim to a place among the top destinations in the Citta Alta. Inventive cookery based on local products could offer you dishes such as: Tart of Potato, Honey, Goats Cheese and Chestnuts; Rice cooked in Barolo with Radicchio; Lamb cutlets with winter ratatouille; and red fruit meringues with white chocolate. Lunch is an excellent option at Cozzi's, as from Mon-Fri only they offer a 25% discount off their menu prices.
