If you order a pasta or main it does come with bread that isn't stale (some intentionally crunchy), but unlike North America Italian establishments, you have to ask for olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The pizza is done onsite and it's fast. They have chili oil but no chili pesto. If some of the ladies spot you're a foreigner they give you a complimentary shot of a local alcohol distilled with lemons. Kind of tastes like a whisky sour but better and less synthetic flavours. You can wait for the bill or pay at the exit. Washrooms are just on the side of the bar down the stairs. Reservations are collected online and are done on emails - great for foreigners on data sims.

It's unclear to me who gets baskets of bread as it seemed very random. The seating system is a mess. You get a number and they call out numbers randomly if you're waiting outside. Our number was certainly skipped but when I asked why I was told it had been announced a bunch (which I have a tough time believing since we heard all of the other numbers and were sitting immediately outside...). Once seated, the service itself leaves a fair amount to be desired as it seems like they're too busy for their own good. The bathrooms were nice, which was convenient. And there was free Wifi, which made the 15-20 minute wait not terrible. There aren't so many options in the immediate vicinity so I'm not sure how the others compare. Ultimately, it was a fine choice.

The decor is very traditional without being too old fashioned. The menu is small, but exquisite and seasonal. I can highly recommend the Rehrücken with Pfifferlinge. If you want to secure a spot on the terrace during summer months, a reservation is recommended. This place is very popular with both visitors and locals.
