    Great Spot!

In each city on our Italian tour SIL carefully researched restaurants with a good selection of Gluten Free food. This was surprisingly easy in Italy! This place was a real find, and we ate here several times. DGD the Elder was in heaven with her own pizza with a homemade crust. I settled in quickly with Carbonara... the best on our trip... creamy perfection. We hosted our Italian family here on our last night in the Dolomites. It didn't hurt it was on the perimeter of a gorgeous high mountain lake!

This is probably one of the only good places to eat in the area. As a result, there's a long line when they open at 7 pm. Requires green cards or vaccine card to enter. The menu inside is on QR code so you can pick the English version. We got the soup of the day (minestrone), truffle pizza ($13), and a meat dish. I thought the pizza was good, but a little disappointing. I was expecting a more truffle taste, but the flavor was barely there. There was a lot of other mushrooms on top though. With how little other options there are in the area, I'd say this restaurant is pretty solid. Inside was very wilderness-cabin decor, with a lot of animal heads on the wall. Plenty of seating.

We had a fabulous lunch experience here. It was quite busy and we almost left. Then, we decided to just figure out how to get a table and enjoy some lunch. Our pizza's were typical northern Italian pizza's, with thin crust, not too much sauce, and all different kinds of toppings. I enjoyed a glass of wine and the view of the lake. I love this part of Italy because everything has a very Swiss, German, Italian look to it. It was a long drive through the mountains for us to get there, but if I was in the area I'd go back for sure.

    Yummy tiramisu!

It's a very fast service restaurant, I find orders are out within 15min with the electronic order…read morerecording that go straight to the kitchen. If you order a pasta or main it does come with bread that isn't stale (some intentionally crunchy), but unlike North America Italian establishments, you have to ask for olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The pizza is done onsite and it's fast. They have chili oil but no chili pesto. If some of the ladies spot you're a foreigner they give you a complimentary shot of a local alcohol distilled with lemons. Kind of tastes like a whisky sour but better and less synthetic flavours. You can wait for the bill or pay at the exit. Washrooms are just on the side of the bar down the stairs. Reservations are collected online and are done on emails - great for foreigners on data sims.

We spent a week in northern Italy and this was easily the best pizza we had. The pepper and salami…read morepizza was so fresh and tasty. The fire roasted peppers really shined on the perfectly cooked crust. The pricing is really good compared to other places in the area. We cane here twice during our 4 night stay in Dobbiaco, it was that good. It was consistently packed every night. If you plan to come here, I suggest making an online reservation. The staff was friendly and spoke english well. The seating was comfortable and the decore was tasteful. I would happily come here again if I come back to South Tyrol. As a bonus, you can see the amazing Dolomites right outside the dining room windows! I wish I took a picture of the pizza before I ate it up. I did take one of the yummy salted caramel brownie for dessert.
