Today, 9/19/22, at about 2:45 p.m., a PJ Hauling truck with trailer, ran the red light in front of Glen Cove Elementary School. school had just let out and kids and parents were waiting to cross the street. The pedestrians clearly had the green light. how irresponsible and dangerous. I used their service earlier this year. had communicated what was to be hauled and noted there were stairs. upon arrival the one in charge said he wouldn't have taken the job as they don't do stairs and preceded to charge me another $50.00. he did nothing, two young men moved everything without complaint. I WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN. In response to yours, let me just say that if I'm driving a company vehicle or wearing a company uniform, I am aware that I am representing my employer and that my actions, good or bad, impact that employer. I therefore behave in a manner that will not reflect badly on said employer. That is mature and professional behavior. I said nothing about anyone sitting in a truck. What once use to be a share stand for my son - where friends in need can come and get a bite to eat, a book to read, something to snack on or even some clothing was a great highlight to be able to do for our community and in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, we began to get large donations that we could not keep up with (some not even working or in recommended conditions for the next home). So we decided to close the the share stand. PJ's Landscaping and Hauling came by and picked up old furniture and other miscellaneous stuff that needed to be trashed. I don't own a truck or a trailer so removing bulk items is a pain in the butt. I called the trash company, Republic Services, to inquire about bulk pick ups but they're a joke and can't answer their phones even after a 10 minute hold. I searched around and was quoted varying prices from different places but PJ's returned my message the quickest and beat other companies prices AND could schedule me in the next day. PJ's arrived on time and got to work immediately! We staged the items in the driveway and they cleared the driveway with their 4 man team in about 15mins tops. We added a couple more items and they didn't increase the price unfairly at all, it was reasonable, affordable and I appreciate that, especially during the times that were in. He then came by about an hour later and pick up my concrete/brick. If I could give 0 stars I would. Spoke with owner and sent him pictures of everything that was going to be hauled. Quoted me $150 based on the pictures I sent. Shows up next morning and says sorry I can't take this for $150 and I said everything out there was included in the pictures I sent you. Mind you he shows up with a truck that's already 80 percent full. I even asked how much it would be to take the full load even though they had already agreed to $150. All he said was I'll return your money. Awful business practices. If he would have quoted me another $50 to take the load I would have agreed to it. We highly recommend using PJ's junk removal. We called them Saturday to see if they could remove a couch Tuesday or Wednesday. He said that would work. He texted Christmas night to confirm Tuesday 8-9. Tuesday morning they were running alittle late and texted to let us know. When they got here, they were extremely friendly, also very efficient. They got the couch out. My husband had some things to dispose of so they took that also. They cleaned along the side of the house and got all the leaves that blew from our neighbors tree. After my mother died recently, we were faced with the prospect of clearing out an entire house full of furniture and other items that had been accumulated throughout the past 40 years or so. To say it was a daunting task is an understatement. One of my nieces recommended PJ and his crew - based on a removal/hauling job they did for her not too long ago. So, I called ... I explained what we were facing and sent him photos of what was gathered in each room to help him determine his cost estimate. I also warned him about the very bad (virtually non-existent) parking situation in this particular San Francisco location. He wasn't phased ... instead he gave me a quote, which I agreed to, and he just said, "We'll be out bright and early tomorrow!" Over the next couple of days PJ and his crew masterfully turned what started off as being an insurmountable task during an already trying time for my family into a "piece of cake!" So with the added time I have had stuck at home due to Covid-19 I decided to take on some projects. One in particular, my garage ! I spent a weekend combing through all of the stuff in there realizing my family is a bunch of packrats and we had so much stuff that wouldn't be worth selling.
