There were only…read moresix passengers on board, which meant there was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the sunshine. Dalton provided expert commentary about the area, even pointing out a few celebrity homes and yachts along the way. It was a gorgeous ride over to Shell Key, and we even saw a few dolphins along the way. Once on the island, we had about 45-50 minutes to explore the beaches and do a little snorkeling and shell-hunting. The island is aptly named, with rows and piles of shells along its white, sandy beaches. The water was warm and perfect for swimming. Soon enough we were back on board and heading back to the harbor. And that's when the magic happened: dolphins! Following along in our wake, and no doubt attracted to the enthusiastic squeals of one of our dolphin-loving fellow passengers, the dolphins put on quite a show. Even Dalton, who I assume sees a LOT of dolphins, was impressed by how long they followed in our wake and performed jumps and flips for us. It was truly one of the most remarkable experiences of my life! Thank you Dalton and Island Ferry for an amazing and memorable tour and one of the true highlights of our vacation!

The activities: We got to see the fort ruins, saw wildlife in the seagrass, and hung out in the sandbars where we found sand dollars and shells with every step. The ride: The World Cat was impressively stable on choppy water and operated smoothly. There is a sink and head to make those long outings comfortable. There is plenty of seating. A few people may be able to recline in the bow under a retractable bimini cover. The size of the boat made it possible for us to get into shallow areas and anchor wherever we wanted. We stayed on the beach in Indian Shores, and I really wanted a water experience for all of us that wasn't on a large boat with a lot of other tourists. We saw dolphins within the first 10 minutes on the pontoon. :) After perching on the sand bar and getting off the pontoon to look for shells and sealife, that's when the fun for the family really started. Captain Eric was also very nice and made sure everyone had a wonderful time. We ranged from 2 to 77. Captain Eric was super with the kids. He also got the teenage boys set up with fishing. I definitely will book them next time we are in town and recommend them to everyone. A huge plus was they could take 8 of us so we didn't have to rent 2 separate boats. (A lot of companies only have a license to take 6 people on a boat). If you are thinking of doing a boat ride book with them you won't be sorry.
