Hidden little gem here! Saw the bar and grill advertised on Facebook and decided we should give them a try. It's kind of hidden in the back but just follow signs for the marina. We found a parking spot and seats at the bar. Great view and friendly bartender. They only have beer and wine. No liquor. Beer was cold and we ordered the grill cheese with lobster. It was yummy. Also came with lobster bisque (very good) and fish spread (one of the best I've had). Neighbors got the lobster roll. It was a little too spicy for their taste but maybe next time add some regular mayo to tone it down. We ended with the grilled lemon cake. Sooo good! Neighbors got the brownie sundae. We sailed out of the marina through the freedom boat club that's located there. This marina is tucked in the back of an apartment complex with a small boat house connected to a beautiful docking area. There were gas grills around plenty of seating and of course it's a lovely view in the mangroves. The staff was fantastic our boat was if you'll forgive the pun shipshape as soon as we boarded. read more

Initially we went in the creek and saw a few birds but nothing special, so we turned around to go into the bay (still only saw birds). On our way back to marina we stumbled upon several manatees. They were coming up next to kayak and even a few bumped the kayak. We will be back! read more

This marina is awesome. As a Valentines afternoon activity, my partner and I went kayaking. When we arrived in the late morning, (we made an appointment) and our kayaks were already out for us with life jackets. The kayaks are in great condition. We signed the papers (just a few questions and signatures needed) and headed out. The water was shallow but also peaceful and beautiful. We also saw many different birds on our adventure. Almost 2 hours later, we checked out and said farewell. We will absolutely return for another kayak trip. read more

My daughter paddle boarded and I kayaked. It was beautiful . The bay leads to the ocean. The water was calm and the weather was great.

There are plenty of kayak rental businesses in the Tampa Bay area, but Cove Kay Marina offers several advantages for customers that the others don't. First, the rates are very good ($30 for a single or tandem kayak for four hours at the time of this review). Most of the other kayak companies charge significantly more for a shorter duration. Also, the staff is not strict about the return times (i.e. they will not charge you a late fee if you happen to return a few minutes late). On a recent outing, I got lost in the canals and was 30 minutes late on return. The staff was very understanding and did not penalize me for my stupidity. The key advantage that Cove Cay Marina has over the competition is the quality of the kayaks they use as rentals. They use Hobie kayaks, which retail for around $1300. This may not seem important to the casually kayaker but for those of us who kayak on a regularly basis, we know that trying to kayak for long distances using the cheap, bathtub like kayaks that other companies offer is a miserable experience. For this reason alone, I will not rent a kayak from other companies because I don't want to expend all my energy attempting to paddle these monstrosities in a straight line. Hobie kayaks are very stable and easy to paddle, even out in the open bay where you will encounter currents, waves and wakes. Finally, you have the choice of two very different kayaking experiences to choose from. If you are of the brave variety, you can venture out into the open ocean and possibly spot dolphins or do some fishing. If you prefer a more relaxing, scenic route, you can navigate through the canals amongst the mangroves and birds that populate the area. I have found that with other kayak companies, you can only one option to choose from (e.g. river, open water, etc). For these reasons, I STRONGLY suggest using Cove Kay Marina as you primary kayaking destination. read more

Chadillac Adventures was a great experience. We couldn't have asked for anything more. This was our first time at kayaking so we didn't know what to expect. Hands down best rental place for paddle boarding. It's private and peaceful. Very nice staff and great equipment. Just a really fun time and worth the $17-$24 depending on if you use groupon or not although the owner said he would price match which is even more impressive and shows their great customer service. I'm honored to be the first to review this marina. Rick and his team go out of their way to help in any way they can. My girlfriend and I have been members for two months now and the convenience, service, and price cannot be beat. They are always friendly, and Rick has done an amazing job at upgrading the docks and community areas so they feel like a place you can just relax and enjoy the day. He provides grills, fish cleaning stations, and even a clubhouse. I plan on staying here for the foreseeable future. read more

Horrible Experience. I just came back from FL visiting family. We rented the boat Aug 28 for 9 people 1 which is handicapped (we let them know this ahead of time). We arrived on time and my mother's friend was approached by an employee. They went to the boat waiting to go over details of the boat. Just then another party waiting for a boat ran over to them yelling hey that's our boat (simple mistake that could have turned ugly). The other party of 5 was then on "their" boat and on their way. It took another 10 minutes before we loaded. We had to wait for them to launch another boat from the yard. then they pulled up to a dock with stairs when we told them ahead of time we had a handicapped person. They moved the boat to another dock with a ramp. THIS BOAT WAS A PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!! Not enough seats on board so they gave me and my daughter bean bag chairs to sit on. Then as we got out of the marina into the bay the water was so choppy the front of the boat took on water and my mother went flying out of her seat IT WAS NOT SECURED DOWN THE SEAT CAME OFF! Not to mention all the seat cushions had duck tape on them. So after about 20 minutes on the boat we turned around to head in it was impossible to be out there in that condition. When we arrived back we told them the conditions they didn't care. We used $.75 in gas total. and when departing from the boat my Aunt and others got out of their seats and there were red ants everywhere coming out from where they were sitting. I currently work in Pest Control and have for 10 years. How did this kid tell me and my family that WE BROUGHT THEM FROM HOME! ARE YOU SERIOUS.....LOL! There is an obvious nest on the boat and they really need to address the REAL issue instead of them passing it off on others. It took EVERYTHING IN ME NOT TO GO OFF FOR RESPECT OF MY FAMILY! After all we rented the boat to do an @sea memorial for my Father that passed a few weeks before. THANK YOU COVE MARINA FOR A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND MEMORIAL! The rental was booked under my Mom's name Nancy Bucko, I think you need to reach out an apologize. SO all in all we paid $140.75 for 20 minutes of boat time and 15 minutes waiting! Experienced paddle boarding for the first time at Cove Cay, and what a perfect place to do so. I wasn't but 5 minutes through the channel when I encountered a group of kayakers who called me over to pet a manatee that was popping it's head out of the water next to them.
