Carmen is as lovely and professional in this service as it gets! Her presence in our home immediately post-partum was most welcome. And I can't say enough good things about the benefits of placenta encapsulation. I credit taking placenta pills with how easily I regained my energy after a very long and challenging birth experience. From the very first dose I felt my strength retuning. The shaky, weak feeling I'd had for 2 days after my son's birth almost immediately resolved and I felt grounded again. History

Established in 2011.

After experiencing a difficult postpartum after her first birth, Carmen decided to try placenta encapsulation as a way to reduce her risk factors for postpartum depression and anxiety. Carmen had a vastly different postpartum experience the second time and was able to enjoy a peaceful babymoon without the blues, fatigue, or depression. Carmen felt very inspired to help other Maryland mothers achieve postpartum wellness through placenta encapsulation. Shortly after the birth of her second son, Carmen became a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and The Nurturing Root was born. Since starting the business, Carmen has also become a Birth Boot Camp instructor and a postpartum doula. The Nurturing Root educates couples on natural childbirth and supports and nurtures Baltimore families through their transition with their new baby. The Nurturing Root provides Maryland mothers and families with childbirth classes, placenta encapsulation, and postpartum doula services.
