Ummm I went yesterday in the morning around 7 am and there was a note on the door that instructed customers to the windows were we could be helped. I was standing at the window and pressing the button to let the worker know I was there. The employee looked at me and continued to do what she was doing. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and let her finish but 5 min passed and she moved onto another activity leaving me un helped. I then go to the door and it's chained but I was able to crack it open and asked if she was going to help me out in which she replied 'no' ??? I was confused and extremely irritated she would respond like that. I also told her to change the sign on the door if she doesn't want to do her job. I get it's in pdx and they deal w a lot but if you don't want to deal with people don't work in the industry. The employee was a skinny white lady that appears emo. Watch out for her if she's working because she won't help you. Do better plaid pantry. read more

The plaid pantry on burnside and grand has the rudest clerk ever. I'm 45 years old my ID is expired by 2 days, I'm waiting for my new one to come in the mail and he wouldn't sell me any tobacco products. I'm 45! He's the most unpleasant person I've ever met. First he ignored me for 3 minutes be cause he was reading, and then he behaved as if me asking him to do his job ie ring me up was unthinkable. while I do have sympathy for the clerks and what they deal with daily, this location has some real issues. they are always closed at random times, which is very inconvenient. Two of the clerks always seem to be in a bad mood, like their job and life sucks. management should definitely clean this place up a bit read more

I'm giving this Plaid Pantry five stars because why not. This is one of my first stops when I arrive in Portland because I like to pick up some things to keep in my motel for my stay, and this is the closest/easiest place to get to. I usually grab a case of hard cider (the specific kind depends on my mood, but they have a decent amount of choices), Red Bull and/or other drinks, cigarettes, and some snacks, but they have everything you'd normally see or want in a corner store. I've been here a couple times for things like aspirin and sunscreen too. I've been here many times but only on my most recent visit did I get caught in a long line that went through the aisles. The cashier handled it really well though and was going as fast as he could to help everyone so it was really appreciated. Usually my trips are very quick though with no lines. It's clean, especially when compared to some other Plaid Pantry's I've been to, and the cashier has always been pleasant. No complaints, and nothing I could think of that I'd like to see change. So the the store on 122nd was doing shift change as I arrived soon after a couple showed up on foot just as a truck with 5 Hispanic we all waited till they opened the store opened but only the service window I walked up and the clerk told me not to cut in the worst snappy tone. I told her I was the first one and she rolled her eyes and said what do you want I told her a monster energy drink the tall one she brought the regular size to the window and I bought it anyway didn't want to hold up the line. After I paid she said next time don't cut my people. Racist rude aren't we all human we all bleed the same? 122nd store 1705 ugly customer service. The best place to pick up a soda pop... which is close to the Downtown Core but not actually in downtown. I went a few times until the store that was on the corner of Fourth and Oak Streets (there's no parking in front)... reopened. There is also a smaller parking lot with a bunch of people who don't wear deodorant or take a shower... on warmer afternoons... the stench from the sewer is worse. There were a few people who followed me inside and asked for directions. I was told the nearest public restroom is at the restaurant up the street. I was also told that there isn't a mat out front although there would be one later. There were a few people returning here for their weekly snacks who lived in the area. I don't recommend buying the tortilla chips that are Guacamole though... you'll eat the whole dam* thing. There are a few of the more lively types (people who are vocal about not liking people who aren't also riding a motorcycle or have a SUV as their vehicle) who show up and complain about everything that they notice has "changed in the past six years." The last time I was inside this convenience store was in 2008 or so. I stopped in to let the cashier know that I didn't know when I would be back... but,... I remembered that the service was exceptional from the stand point of quick and reliable transactions for all my soda pop needs (before I was pregnant in the early 2000s). This location is near the first TriMet bus stop on the eastside when crossing over the Burnside Bridge headed east. Also... throw your trash into the receptacle or there will be a fee (there is a garbage can and a garbage dumpster). read more

I go to this store almost everyday. The older woman who works there knows me. Always comments on what I'm buying and whatnot. Tonight she comes out to the parking lot and starts accusing me of washing my car there because tree needles on it. Next time I want go there I won't. read more

If you'd like to be treated as a criminal as soon as you walk in, this is your kind of place. I walked in at 10:30pm on a Friday to purchase some ramen and was told by the unfriendly guy working there that I needed to remove my hoodie. I explained I had just washed my hair and it was cold outside (It was 45 degrees F) so was keeping it covered so as not to catch cold. He responded "remove your hoodie," so I left. Gave my business to the 7-11 down the street instead, which was run by a very friendly guy who even gave me a local bar tip. Avoid Plaid Pantry like the plague; they don't understand basic business or consumer practices. read more

Got $10 worth of gas this morning on my ghetto debit card. Got off work and no balance on my card. Called ghetto debit card company and they said Plaid put a $75 hold of some kind on my card. To make it more confusing the operator was in India or something and it sounded like she was saying Blood Vantry. Funny aside from the stress...if you have a ghetto pay debit card...pay inside....or wait 3 days to get that $75 back. Makes me wanna shoplift read more

If the #72 TriMet bus were a convenience store, this'd be it. Sticky floors. Trends come and go, but the timeless classics, well, what to say? In a market-driven economy, money talks and suckers walk. Plaid pantry has settled upon a solid little formula of smokes, lottery, quickie beverages of the hot, cold, and bottled variety, and junk food of all stripes. Suckers just keep on walking through these scuz-ball doors, walkin' across them nasty sticky scuz-ball floors, to donate liberally once more, to the local, municipal sin tax coffers. Some Plaids have gas pumps. This one doesn't. The owner/mgt. conglomerate apparently doesn't want to take any of the intended focus of the store, away from its perpetually grimy, oh so sticky floors. B/c of the genius policies of former Mayor Katz, the zoning regulations mean no malt liquor for sale here, sorry folks! How can this place call itself Plaid Pantry, let alone the #72 of all convenience stores, sans Malt Liquor?!? Looking through the aisles of this Plaid Pantry, and the god-forsaken endless variety of sweets and other diabetes-if-you-please goodies, one is painfully reminded of the eternal truth, that candy may indeed be dandy, but Malt Liquor's so much quicker..... read more

Yep, it's a Kwik-E-Mart. Nothing exceptional here at all, but they do carry the standard variety of goods that you'd expect to find at any convenience store. It just so happened that when I was in the neighborhood it was convenient for me to stop in for about two minutes, complete a transaction, and depart. Good 'enuf. read more

Quite dismayed to visit one of your stores this morning and watch 2 different maskless people look at the sign on your door explaining the governors mandate and walking in anyway and making purchases. I would expect a locally owned business to have more concern for the Oregonians that keep them in business. Eh. There's a reason they call these convenience stores, right? There's nothing fancy here but if you need deodorant, Cheez-its, Gatorade and oil for your car, you're set. The Plaid Pantry has a bit of everything and while there's little to no help from the folks who work here, the place is rather easy to maneuver on your own. I came looking for some medicine for my boyfriend and this was the closest store to our hotel. They had exactly what I was looking for, phew. I waited in line as the two gals at the register ignored me and talked to each other. Then when they were finished with their convo I paid and left. Bought 3 boxes of expired wine, 9/15... The smell upon opening was enough to make you check the date. Went back to notify the store manager... Please note they were still selling 2015 wines and he or she refused to come out from the back to speak with me.
