I've been to a variety of Plan B's in the region and they're all pretty standard. This is the newest one to open and it's overall good. We came for happy hour and ordered a bunch of mini burgers, tots and the pierogi flatbread. The mini burgers were pretty dry (they're usually my favorite thing on the menu), but the pierogi flat bread was good. Mashed potatoes, caramelized onions, cheese, bacon and scallions. Yum. Tots are tots. The "bucket o' tots" on the happy hour menu is just a bowl of tots. Not huge, but probably 2-servings worth. Still delicious (who doesn't like tots?) read more

It's interesting for Plan B- they opened a few weeks ago, but if you haven't noticed the restaurant moving in you'd have no idea from the front that they've had their grand opening. Really, put a sign out front, it'll help. That said- their lot was reasonably full when we went on Monday 2/24 at 4:15pm. It was nearly full when we left at 5:30. Bunch of good things, a few things they need to tweak. Pros: -Burgers and fries were delicious. They informed us that they ground their beef daily so it's fresh. Definitely makes for tasty burgers. -Fresh whipped cream when we got their cupcake dessert, and while a bit light on sugar, was so delicious because you can taste when whipped cream is fresh. -They set out complimentary half sour pickle slices. Okay- all my life I've gone into rants about how true half sour pickles need to have a vibrant dark green skin (not paler brown, indicates overpickled so no longer half sour), and the slices inside should have a pale lighter green color, again, not darker green or brown. And this place knows how to give truly fresh half sour pickle slices. They were wonderful. They did 'em right! -They got our food out pretty quickly- about 10-15 mins after ordering. And it was all as requested. Cons: -Poor lighting- just a bit dim inside. -A lot of their menu and floorplan feels catered toward a bar and whiskey, which could be a pro if that's what you're going for. -One of my glasses wasn't fully clean, had a little crud on the outside. May not seem like much but it colors the impression. -Windows are streaked with a kind of dingy film, and this place just opened. -Burgers slightly pricy, around 13+ to start. All in all, I'd say give it a try. They're getting the ball rolling and I think some of this will fix with time. To the restaurant itself I'd say, get some brighter lights, do a little more care for the decor/glassware so it's a little cleaner. But the food- the burgers are wonderful. Desserts could use a touch more sugar. And yeah- you're pretty new- put a sign or something out front that says you're now open for business! One last thing to suggest- menu for build your burger says the cost of cheese, but doesn't list what cheeses you have for the burgers. Definitely list those. read more

This is a new establishment in Southington but it's part of the Plan B chain. I'm generously giving it two stars but it wasn't good. The two stars are for the service, which was fine. The food was not as good or good at all. My burger was extremely overcooked but it's a burger so i just ate it, didn't want to deal with sending it back. The fried egg on it was overcooked too. They also don't have as many menu items as the WH establishment. It's also very expensive, if I'm paying high end prices, at least prepare the burger correctly. read more

Service was great. We were seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I had the plant based bleu burger. It was excellent. "Meat" was hand packed and tasty. The toppings were great and the bread was fresh and delicious. Sweet potato fries were hot and crispy. Would definitely return to this location. read more

This food is terrible. If you've ever eaten at West Hartford, this is not even close to being the same. Super disappointed in everything we ordered. The chips in the nachos were over cooked, the onions weren't even close to being cut enough, same with the tomatoes. The Cheese and chili portions were literally 1/4 of what you get at West Hartford, the chips were so dry because of this. Super disappointed. Neither one is close to me- the southington location is closer to a place I often am, so going to southington would be perfect. But definitely ever eating here again. read more

Had an order with 9-10 different meals ordered it online set it up for a 515 for curbside pick up, got in the parking at 515 called and it was in my car for 5:16. Very prompt for an order of that many things everything came out spot on for everyone's preference, not to mention I really like how the food comes out in a nice cardboard box with dividers for the burger and fries. Very inexperienced staff or at least for Plan B. Been to many other locations and this need to have some kinks worked out. They do have the flat breads and they are OK. Not great but not bad. I'm assuming the pizza oven was from Bertuccis (what it use to be). So my experience was food was somewhat fast to come out but drinks took forever. Not sure if it was bad bartender or our waitress who looked like she had never waited on a table before. Also I thought inside would look a lot different. Looks like a little paint and decor and boom let's open. So nothing impressive and limited parking. However if you have been to Plan B in West Hartford parking won't be a shocking issue! read more

Visited Plan B in Southington on 3/25/23 with my son (15) and daughter (18). We have been to the Milford and the West Hartford locations before, and had good experiences. This was not like those. Upon walking in, there was a odd smell--not terrible, just like garlic that wasn't quite right, or the smell of a cleaning agent. It was a Saturday evening, and the bar was busy, but only 8 tables with guests in the dining room. Hostess was pleasant, and sat us quickly. The waitress was also pleasant, and took our drink order pretty quickly. The beer prices are way out of wack! Counter Weight "Headway" for $9 a pint? Beer'd "Dogs and Boats" for $12.50??!! I ordered a beer that was $4.50 purely because of the price. Took a while for the waitress to come back and she apologized for the wait. We ordered. That when our visit went sideways. We expected to share the calamari appetizer--no way. Too small. And the calamari was fried beyond recognition. My daughter and I had burgers. My wife had a salad with salmon. My son ordered the chicken tenders and a side of fries to be served as his meal. His tenders came as an appetizer--the fries came as his meal. I had the burger salad, and asked for mine to be "a little pink." (There are only two choice: little pink and no pink.) mine came well done--so well done that the layer of melted cheese came off the minute I put my fork in it. My daughter asked for hers "a little pink" and it came well done. (On the receipt, hers says "pink beef burger" and mine says "no pink." I will chalk that up to the waitress misunderstanding me.) The food was delivered by a runner, so we didn't want to bring it up to her. We figured we would wait for the waitress. By the time the waitress came back, we were all almost done with dinner. My son had just gotten his fries. There were some positives to our visit: The salad ingredients were fresh and were perfect. My wife's salmon was excellent! This is a burger place. You need a greater range in cooking temperatures, and focus more on the burgers. I do not think I will be back to this location. read more

Could not agree more with the reviewer who stated the food was extremely salty. When I told our server to please tell the manager, she said she did and other people have complained about the excessive salt. I should have known better when the place is empty at 7:00 on a Friday night. We sat at the bar. I ordered a whiskey smash which is advertised to have makers mark bourbon in it. The bar tender clearly used a well bottle that was not makers. The burgers lacked flavor and juiciness.... Which plan b used to be known for. I actually thought I may have been served a beyond burger by mistake because us was grainy and full of fillers. It's sad that the highlight of my dinner was the fries. We went on a Friday night around 8 and we were seated quickly. We ordered food easily and it came out quickly as well. The burgers were good as well as the American nachos. The only complaint is that my mixed drink as well as my husband's mixed drink had very little alcohol in them...like almost none. My advice would be to stick to beer or anything that does not rely on a bartender mixing it. read more

Just like to say plan b is our favorite and we have visited other locations multiple times! So when it opened even closer it was a no brainer to go for my birthday dinner tonight. We had a pretty big group with us so we started at the bar...the drinks were good but some we ordered tasted like there no mostly juice than alcohol. When we finally ate, the burgers were so disappointing ..the "pink " we ordered was a well done and cold burger with a hard bun. Not one person there( all of which loveeee plan b usually) had a "plan b burger" so disappointed that this seems to be a trend reading other reviews now. I frequent Plan b, had lunch there on Tuesday, a mouse ran across the floor. I brought it to our waitresses attention, she proceeded to tell her boss who is the manager and he informed her that he has seen them there in the past. Never offered us a drink, a discount on our food, or the courtesy to even come over to us and say anything. Don't need anything for free, however, acknowledging the situation would have been the right thing to do. Will not go back. read more

Given that I have almost 20 years of restaurant and service industry experience, I can understand that a newly opened restaurant may have hiccups. I also will inform you that I can't recall this many occurring at the places I have worked. I actually have frequented Plan B in west Hartford and Glastonbury in the past and view their restaurants as high up there in terms of quality of food and service. To be fair I hadn't sat at a table in the other locations nearly as much as the bar. Here is how our experience went: 1) No signage on the restaurant so it's difficult to see the wooden sign in the lawn. 2) We had a 30 minute wait although there were at least 20 open tables. (I do understand the idea of waiting to seat to give the kitchen a break, but I have sincerely NEVER seen this happen with so many open tables), but still, I was fine with this given I could grab a drink while I waited 3) The bartender(s) looked at us multiple times before acknowledging us accordingly, whereas a quick "I'll be right with you" would be a little better than nothing at all - the bar is fairly tiny and with 2 bartenders, this is confusing 4) We received our pickles that were very scarce and when asked for more the server explained that she gave us the last of the pickles and forgot to replenish them- hm well no need to admit that, just replenish them ? 5) Ordered 6 wings bourbon bbq, asked for a side of the hot sauce on the side cooked welldone crispy. -- the server carried the wings over to ask us if we wanted the plain wings no sauce to be tossed in the bourbon bbq and then once we received them they were not even close to crispy. Neither one of us finished them. 6) Breakfast burger with sweet potato fries (*upcharge) the burger meant was incredibly salty and the sweet fries had no potato in them - so picture shriveled and over cooked - needless to say was a waste 7) He ordered a burger as well with tots, burger seemed fine for him but tots were overcooked as well 8) I didn't finish my meal, so he asked for it be wrapped and he would take home. Her response was "Can I give you a box, I don't really like to touch peoples food during the winter months with flu season and all... germs and such" --- WTF- first I truly have never touched people's food when packaging for a magnitude of reasons- use utensils or a pair of gloves or honestly don't say that EVER to the guest. The positives... the whiskey smash was tasty. Recommend not visiting for a few more months and still with caution. Unclear if we will visit again. Def not anytime soon. read more

First time here...great burger.. the menu has lots of foodie options for your burger I'm a plan Jane type but the burger was delish fresh cheddar freshly ground burger. The fries are omg yummy.
