I had an issue with an online order. I won't go into details but I kept telling they had very poor customer service. When I politely explained why I felt this was the manager had to agree. The next day he delivered the order himself with a nice discount. I appreciated the effort because although mistakes will happen what is important is the effort put in to correct them. This business has given me the worst customer service I experienced - EVER!! I placed an order for wine directly with the store as they did not have the item available online. My credit card was charged immediately upon order placement and that was all they did to fill the order. An email confirmation for the order was promised but never received. I called the store 2 days after the arrival of the order had been promised and then they told me that it was never delivered to them to them but would be send to me that same day. I reminded them about the missing email confirmation and again it as promised. Needless to say that neither confirmation nor order were ever received and a last phone call to them 3 days later to inquire about the order was not answered or returned. The worst!! read more

Possibly awesome for wine lovers but as a beer fan I left disappointed. I was in the area having lunch and running errands and thought, why not Yelp myself a place nearby to get some 6 packs. I love IPA, my wife loves Shandy. She ended up with nothing (only a couple of single leinenkugel bottles and some funky Curious Traveler were available). I found stuff that I liked but the prices were higher than most other places. ($12 for a 6 of a low ABV item like Founders All Day). I ended up grabbing a 12 pk of Goose Island IPA as it was the most reasonably prices 12 pk I saw for IPA. The folks working there were friendly, I'll give them that! read more

I go here all the time service is always great. Not my issue . Everyone had on masks wearing them correctly except the girl who checked me out. Apparently there are some who think they are the exception. Mask under nose and mouth. Talking to everyone. Maybe she missed the memo. It's not ok. Ordered several bottles online a month ago. After waiting a couple weeks without hearing anything I contacted their sales dept. to check on my order the representative assured me that the order was scheduled to be picked up by the shipper the next day and a tracking number would be emailed to me the next day. After a few more days I emailed them again and was given a tracking number and order number. It's now been a month, the shipping Co. has a tracking number (pending) for my order but hasn't received anything from Worldwide Wine & Spirits to ship. Located in the old Jaguar dealership in Southington right off route 84, this store had its grand opening weekend recently (November 9-11, 2012). Thanks to having been a car dealership there's ample parking and a lot of room inside the store. The selection is wonderful, with a large variety of wines, a section dedicated to local beers and one of the larger hard cider/gluten free beer selections I've run across in Connecticut so far. Pricing is competitive with anywhere else in the area, and often a little lower than other large area options (such as Crazy Bruce's in Bristol). The store hosts free tastings seemingly every day of one kind or another (I've been there on days of wine and bourbon tastings so far.) The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and really very helpful. The also seem to be converting the maintenance garage into a "drive up delivery" area where you can call an order ahead. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that or how it will work out, but once it's up and running I'll give it a try and update the review. read more

SO ANGRY with this company. Spent half hour filling my cart with a variety of gifts, then find out that they cannot ship to my state! NOWHERE on the website does it advise you to check before you fill your cart. They apparently can ship only to a handful of states. WHAT A PAIN. They do have people cruising the asiles ready to make suggestions, but I have never needed them, but I'll assume them to be excellent. Like everyone else I really don't want to go out in the public to get supplies. Saw an add for WWS and checked their webpage. Prices are very competitive and they deliver for a nominal fee. Customer service is excellent. I sent an email at 8:40 pm and had a reply back 10 minutes later. Placed an order by email was told it would be delivered next day. The next morning I realized that I forgot something and added it to the order by phone...no problem and the delivery showed up by noon. Super easy, very fast and very friendly. I currently reside in North Carolina, but was in the Hartford area to meet up with some friends and run a trail race. I called Southington my home base for the weekend, and wanted to find a place where I could try singles of local breweries' offerings. Enter Worldwide! Location: 4 out of 5 Primo space right off of the highway with easy on easy off access. Grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, motels, etc. are all around in a 5 minute drive. Plentiful free parking is always a plus, and the space itself was large, open, and inviting. Customer service: 5 out of 5 Each of the employees I met was courteous, friendly, and helpful. Not being from CT, I didn't want to break any state rules inadvertently, so they put up with my probably stupid-sounding questions, like, "Can I just buy three cans of beer?" or "Is there a minimum number of fluid ounces that a person must purchase in this state?" Selection of CT and Regional brews: 4 out of 5 Heck, I don't know anything about beers from the area. Instead, all I know is that I was able to find stuff from CT and the region that looked interesting. Thomas Hooker, 2 Roads, City Steam, Stony Creek, Wachusett were the ones that I saw that I remembered. Interestingly, it's amazing how far the world of beer distribution has come. I spent most of my adult life in Chicago where Goose Island is a local brewery. Several years ago, they agreed to be distributed, and now it's neat to see the beers in local liquor stores, even if not all of the beer is brewed in Chicago anymore (gong). Value: 5 out of 5 Pricing-wise, the beers essentially came down down to 1.67 for a 12 oz can (or a 6-pack for 10$), plus the 5 cent deposit per can. Overall: 5 out of 5 Rare 5 star experience from me, from the perspective of a visitor. The flexibility of purchasing just a few cans of beer at a time was nice, as was the freedom to use the ice water bath chiller device. They also had a little drive in area to shop from the comforts of your vehicle, but I didn't take advantage of that service. read more

Went in to buy a bottle of Veuve. The boxed version was 46.99. I went to the cooler and it was priced at 40.99. I went to the cash register and it rang up $51. When I told the cashier that it was marked $40.99 in the back cooler, she said it was mispriced, however, they would not honor the pricing. Needless to say we went down the street and purchased champagne for the price that was displayed. Will not be going back, clearly this store is under poor management read more

I refuse to buy my beer, wine, or liquor at any other store. I've never entered without being greeted by name and with a smile. Mark (manager) always has great suggestions based on preference, and spends time talking and getting to know what types of beer you are looking for, very friendly, knowledgeable. He actually let me go upstairs and grab some leftover swag as a donation for a fundraiser for the high school football team I coach for. The generosity was much appreciated. Stephanie (beer manager) is the best at what she does. She gets every (craft) beer you would ever want to buy. Lawsons, Grey sail, NEBCO., because of her, my beer fridge is an I.P.A lovers dream. Very friendly, knows her craft, and is a brewer in the making herself. Ben (sales associate) offers great insight on a variety of beer types. Faith (front end associate) very sweet, welcoming, will talk and get to know about you in the short time you're cashing out. There's one more young lady with curly hair and glasses (her name slips me) always willing to help you find something, high energy, really nice. Between the great staff, incredible selection of beers (which I go there for) extensive liquor and wine selection, tasting table, specialty wine room, chilling machine, beer suggestion board, and drive-thru delivery, the only thing this place is missing is hot food and a jazz band. Any time I'm somewhere besides here and have to buy alcohol I kick myself for being unprepared and not going here prior. I know any beer I can possibly buy is sitting on their shelves. Our go-to beer store with a wide selection that is always expanding. Beer prices are good and expected for the beer you buy. Thy have a beer cave for access to cold beer. The craft a six pack has quite a large selection but, like all the rest, it can get pricy. Good selection of all the common liquor I've needed for boozing or cooking. Ordered a bottle of liquor online and received a confirmation of the order. After 12 days I hadn't heard back so I called the shop. Apparently they normally call when the shipping address is different from the billing address (I have alcohol shipped to my office so there is an adult signature at all times) but nobody called me. Turns out they didn't have the particular bottle in stock anyways despite the website listing it as "in stock". The manager really didn't seem sorry about it, either -- no offer to send the bottle overnight, etc. Color me thoroughly unimpressed. I go there for the craft beer selection because they have lots of rare beers you don't find anywhere else in the area. Same goes for the rum, scotch and bourbon whiskies. Theres bottles I've only seen online, and now i know where to get them. Amaro and liqueurs you don't see at any other store I was really excited to see. I dont drink wine but the huge store is atleast half wine. They also have ice wine i guess its cool and expensive and trendy maybe. Not only is the store awesome, the people are awesome! You can set up a regular order and I also used their drive-in one time when I was having back problems: called ahead, paid with card, called when I arrived, door went up, I drove in, they brought out the order, put it in the car and away I went. I ordered two bottles of wine I could not find anywhere else. I was told the distributor would be in with a delivery on Friday. That Saturday I went to pick up the wine (I needed it for a birthday party that evening) and was told the distributor never came on Friday. No one ever called to tell me it had not arrived. I do not live nearby, so I kind of went out of my way for nothing. However, first thing Monday morning I was told the wine had infact arrived, the clerk simply did not see it in the back....In any event, the wine was shipped to me free of charge and arrived the next day.
