Now, just because my grandfather used them isn't reason enough for me, but once I started working in high school, I realized why granddad used them. First, the service is excellent. Many of the agents have been there for decades, so there's a sort of personal connection there that I just wouldn't get with an HR Block-type firm. And given that they're a Michigan institution, their first priority seems to be service, not jacking up prices so high that they put a large dent in your returns. The agent determines how much your return costs; after developing relationships with our agents over the years, the cost of our returns has gone down, not up! I guess it's this kind of ethic that keeps me coming back; they THANK me for coming back each year, not only verbally, but financially as well. That's reason enough for me! Oh, and free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cookies doesn't hurt either.

I have been calling Bob Blehm since July of 2022. He was supposed to do my parents' taxes for 2021…read morebut could not get them done by April 18th so he filed for an extension. Both of my parents died in may of 2022. In July he told me their 2021 taxes would be done soon. I called again in August and September but got no answer or call back. I talked to Bob in October and again he told me their taxes would be done soon. I talked to him again in December and he told me he had everything he needed and their taxes would be done in a week. Now, it is February 28, 2023 and their 2021 taxes are still not done. If I wasn't 2000 miles away in Phoenix, I would walk into his office and get their documents and take them to a real accountant. I can not get them to answer the phone to tell me what i need to do to get their taxes done. Everyone in the office is a disgrace.
