Hospitality -- the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests. That definition…read moreperfectly describes our experience at Big Rock Pub. Everything about Big Rock Pub is great. The visuals immediately capture you as you walk in, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the start. The service staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the drinks made by the bartender were excellent. The food did not disappoint either. We started with the garlic parmesan wings, which were incredibly flavorful and a great way to begin the meal. Next, we had the Caesar salad and the BBQ chicken pizza. The Caesar salad portion was huge, easily enough for two people and probably even enough to share among four. The BBQ chicken pizza was absolutely delicious and a standout dish for us. I want to give a special shout-out to Carlos and the food runner working tonight. He was very friendly and made a point to check on us as he passed by to make sure everything was good. In my opinion, that kind of attentiveness is what separates average service from seasoned food and beverage professionals. For dessert, we ordered the churros, which had an amazing filling that instantly hooked us. Our 3- and 5-year-old also enjoyed their kids' meals, and the fact that each kids' meal includes a sundae was a great touch. We can't wait to return, this is definitely a spot worth trying

The Asian stir fry was surprisingly good and the tuna nachos were OK, but we didn't like most of the other food. The service was good, and it was fun to listen to the live music.

If you were looking for a great executive (mid-stage beginner, shorter course) golf track, this is…read moreit!! Maintained well enough to be super enjoyable. My wife is a beginner and I try and keep her off big tracks where most men forgot how crappy they were when they started and are in a rush to get around. The cart boy was super friendly and helpful to us, and made my wife feel very comfortable from the moment we were arriving at the course. And also later in the day when we were having difficulties getting something to drink, he assisted us then as well. My only suggestions would be, now caveat here is that they may be impacted by Covid protocol still, but their snack bar was closed by the time we got around the turn at 2:30. It was 105° and even the pro shop was closing and was initially reluctant to sell us anything because they had already started counting the drawer. That is a huge breakdown on the customer service side and on the planning side. If you're going to close early, then put some vending machines out there. Or allow your cart boy to do sales from a cooler. But why would you remove the opportunity for Gatorade, a Coke, power bars, an orange, a banana, you get the idea, quick simple items that can be refrigerated and then put out the next day for members or visitors. I really dislike playing golf courses where there are homes along the fairways, and this course does a great job of giving you ample buffer space for the mischievous, super slice that creeps into my game periodically. I was still able to find my non center hit balls and only lost two balls into the neighbors backyards. They have gorgeous water features on the course. I would recommend that they include a little bit more greenery or a fake middle island on stilts for pond shade because the water isn't very deep and as hot as it gets, I can only imagine the temperature of the water goes well up it is barely sustainable for the nice beautiful large fish they have in their ponds. Overall, for an executive course in the Palm Desert/Palm Springs area, I highly recommend going here. They have a nice grass driving range, clean rolling putting green, and all the basics you need to get great 18 executive holes completed in hot, but fair, resort-like and playable, 4 hours or less. Note, we were here for Labor Day weekend when the state and national parks closed due to the amount of fires in and around campgrounds. So instead of camping we came to Palm Desert. It was hott . Tips, bring an extra towel for each player, like a kitchen sized towel, and keep it wet and put it into the ice cooler that is attached to your golf cart, every three Dash four holes, wrap it around your neck and cool off your overall body temperature. Keep cold water, hydrate, periodically put ice inside of a baseball cap, don't wear a visor, and you will be OK for A great executive course experience.

I've been to Coachella 3 times before and this year I went both weekends. I was here in the early 2000's before it became what it is now and I can tell you it's massive now. Before this year, the last time I was here was in 2013 and the stages were nowhere near as big and high tech as they are now. Favorite set this year was Nine Inch Noize at Sahara, Ceremony inside the Sonora tent, Suicidal Tendencies, etc. It's the best music festival in the world and worth the hefty price tag. Concert tickets are just about $100 plus dollars, so you're able to see so many artists for less than a standard L.A. venue ticket. HIghly recommend doing it once in your lifetime, but it is exhausting. Don't go back to work for a week after you attend all three days and book a spa day or a massage, the Monday after.

Don't get me wrong though, Justin Beiber was fun and he played our favorite song, "Beauty and a Beat." We got tier 2 tickets since tier 1 was sold out quick. Try to get these tickets during presale to avoid purchasing resale price which is totally not worth. Also make sure to book hotels/airbnb asap because pricing may increase depending on the lineup and demand! Early the cheaper, I guess. This year was amazing because they were lots of good artists like Bigbang, Subtronics, Isaiah Rashad, JB, Swae Lee, Central Cee, Foster the People and etc. I heard camping was a cool experience but I hate waiting in line for showers and I also heard that some camps got blown away by the dust storm. Mask up! My favorite stage is probably the Dolab stage because it's such a vibe and good for aesthetic pictures. The Sahara is also nice because of the lights and lasers. Food there is all overpriced. I paid like $60 for like two pizzas and a drink. Hungry though so you gotta do what you gotta do, lol. This year Coachella did a collab with Gap and they had an area where you are able to make your own custom hoodie with unique patches! I missed out on it because the line was outrageous!

*La Cucina is Fantastico*…read more Had an amazing lunch here with my good friend and everything was outstanding from the food, customer service and spectacular views surrounding the swimming pool overlooking the cabanas, golf course, palm trees and mountains. Sat outside on the patio for some fresh air because it was a beautiful wind-free day -- tho the casual dining room is tastefully decoreated and liked how the tables are spaced out for more for privacy. There's also a nice big bar area with counter seating and tables. I don't eat a lot of meat & dairy but when I dine out and wanna cheat from eating clean, I lean more towards it -- especially things I don't normally cook at home. I'm a sucker for short ribs but even though I did not intend to eat meat & cheese...took one look at the menu, read the description and was sold. And glad I did because not only was the Short Rib Melt cooked & prepared perfectly and Double-Delicious, I didn't want it to end. I savored my meal slowly, but my buddy kept trying to rush me after plowing through his Ahi Tartare. The Sweet Pot Fries that accompanied my sando, were excellent and served exactly how I ordered -- well done without salt please -- plain & simple is how I enjoy most of my food. But there was nothing plain & simple about this wonderful restaurant located inside the Toscana Country Club. And the prices are very reasonable for the quality. My only grip but it's not a complaint because everyone here is/was so damn friendly & accommodating ~~ especially the lovely hostesses. But IMO, most of the staff (are probably told & trained) to treat everyone like Royalty. Some people & guests at Country Clubs might need and expect this type of treatment. However for me, it was a little too stuffy and prefer a more relaxed vibe. I get it and respect it -- it's "a Country Club thing"...but I prefer to be treated as if the customer service is not beneath me...tho appreciated the efforts from the entire team at La Cucina & Toscana. Grandslam I'm a Fan.
