My family and I came by the Regal theater on New Year's Day to watch the new Avatar: Fire and Ash movie. I was able to purchase discount tickets on Groupon which we were able to use on this new release movie. You can reserve t Your seat online, but there is a $2 per ticket fee. I decided to just go to the theater to purchase the tickets to avoid paying the fees, but at the theater I was still charged $4.50 total for a Groupon fee. There is no one working the ticket booth in the front of the theater, so you have to go to the concession stand to purchase your ticket if you didn't do so already online. A large bucket of popcorn was $12.99. We chose to watch the movie in standard definition versus 3D or IMAX 3D (this theater offers it). The seats in this theater are pretty worn and are in desperate need of refurbishing. The seating is tight compared to the reclining seats at some newer theaters. Overall, this is a functioning theater and gets the job done.

$10 for a small soda. $20 for a movie ticket. Two people, two drinks, and a small popcorn? You're looking at $80--and for what? Outdated seats, mediocre screens, and a staff that barely acknowledges you. If I'm paying premium prices, I expect at least basic friendliness and decent comfort. At this rate, it feels like it's only a matter of time before this location shutters. If you're comparing options, Mary Pickford is definitely the pick--better atmosphere, better value, and much kinder staff. Regal may still call itself 'the best place to watch a movie,' but at these prices and with this service, that slogan feels like wishful thinking

I am paying WAY too much to have to endure a full 20 minutes of commericals *after* the listed start time for a movie.

We also love the Met Opera HD simulcasts, more often on Satudays It always remarkably cool yet comfortable considering our climate, and it always seems recently cleaned. Their reserved seating policy is a life saver, but the long lines at the concession stands require mention. On the very rare occasions that we've needed manager's attention, (people in our seats, or issues with house lighting, etc.) they have responded very efficiently and courteously. Be advised that street level parking can be challenging during their busy times. But if you are willing to walk, a mostly empty parking structure is only a couple of blocks away. And the early bird deal with discount ticket prices. But what is up with lighting or the volume. The past few times there was always something going on. With leaving the lights on for a good while as the movie is starting. Then there's the no sounds while the previews are going on. Then yesterday, same thing with previews. You hardly heard anything coming out and if it did it was a sentence here and there. Then comes the movies, Spider-Man. You could hardly hear anything the beginning of the movie. Is that how the movie was filmed or was there something else going wrong again. I do like the theatre alot as it's very comfy with all the plush large recliner seats. But what is up with the volume situation. Anyways, a decent size theatre that tends to have all the new releases which is prefect.

Free to visit and you can enjoy the cactus garden and wander around the gardens. Museum and gift shop as well as cafe is on sites. But this visit, we took the tour of the Annenberg property. Tour is about 90 min and about 60.00 per person. They do recommend you come a little early to view and enjoy the main building where the cactus garden was but we were a little behind and made it right before the tour started. The tour host 7 person per guided tours. We start off at check in and then met with our guide, Hema. At the beginning you start off on the golf carts where your guide gives you an introduction to the family and the property. The gate into the main residence is around the corner from the public property. It's amazing to see how someone turned a barren desert landscape into an oasis. The brief cart ride to main door was quite nice. A massive golf property hidden in the desert. Once you approached the main property, it's welcomed by a massive water feature. A knock on the double doors lead you into the lobby of the house. Just walking into the property, it's a true MCM oasis. To find out the property only has just the primary bedroom was insane as it was massive. Theres no picture allowed inside but outside was fine. Hema, very detailed in everything she explained was very sweet and detail oriented. Walking through the different rooms and seeing all the amazing things collected by both Walter and Leonore Annenberg was quite interesting. The office which house all of Walter's work, pictures of family, friends and political figures. The different room that's in the main house, their amazing artwork which some are the original pieces. Then you have the way they lived, very elegantly. Each room had their own unique style. The designer and architect sure had their hands full with detail designed of everything on site. The furniture, one of a kind design with amazing embroidery. Walter had an amazing collection of artwork and sculptures. Seeing them throughout the house and the way it was displayed in different room of the house was spectacular. Even the kitchen was nice. Still fully functional as it's still used for summits. The outside alone is one in a million. The massive property with many lakes that is fully stocked for fishing. The golf course which is a golfers heaven. And then you have the pool with a million dollar view of the mountains as the backdrop. Not only the main house, there's the guest house which is utilized for guest. And they're know by different color rooms. And by that, it's fully decorated in the color palette. That building also all looks out to the pool and mountain. Leonore, with her favorite color yellow also had a rose garden designed in the property. The tour lets you inside the lives of the Annenberg and the amazing lives they've lived. Housing major political figures, celebrities and the amazing parties had. The massive art collection and endless photos of everyone, it was a sight to see. This is a tour worth checking out and learning about the Annenberg. Plus, Hema our tour guide was excellent.

The tours were either sold out or had one spot available. There were 2 of us. I would recommend purchasing tickets online before you arrive to Palm Springs because of the popularity of the tours. We walked among the garden area, visited the small but great gift shop, watched the movie about Sunnylands and viewed the current exhibition. I think the Glow Up event was really cool, especially since you can walk around and under the balloons. It has a great vibe and it's free. Glow Up is a dance event? I don't think so. If it were, there would be a dance floor. That said, everyone walking around, chatting with strangers, taking cool balloon pictures, and enjoying the awesome weather was great fun. Great music, but the Mayor's welcome speech had a dead mic. I'm sure whatever she said was good. There are good restaurants around, I'm partial to Desert Thai, but there are other options that are all good. Roost has good cocktails and had a singer that was blowing it out. What I like is that walking between the two Blow Ups, San Jacinto Rd Miguel Casino and Cathedral City, there was plenty of space to not feel crowded out. Everyone seemed welcome. Families and couples, of all orientations, meandered and got along. Not just got along, actually enjoyed hanging with each other. This amazing event was free. Hard to complain about anything, when it's completely free.
