I haven't been bowling for years. Coincidentally, the last time I did was during a team-building activity eight years ago. I was at this bowling alley for the same thing -- just with a different bunch of colleagues. Planet Bowl is a five-minute drive from where I work. I am thinking that if I am itching to relieve some work-related stress, I can visit this place. The co-op student that I have been working with for the last five months and I organized this team-building event. She called in our food order and lane reservations. We ordered way too much food. The food included chicken fingers and wings, veggie and meat pizzas, nachos, veggies with dip, and pitchers of pop. We have one vegetarian in our group. The good services accommodated her dietary needs nicely. The food is pretty good. I loved the nachos and chicken finger foods the most. My boss gave me practically a large-sized deluxe pizza (minus two slices), four chicken fingers (they were large), and the remaining nachos (yum) to take home. Rental shoes cost you $3.39. I wear a woman's size 11. In the bowling world, your shoe size goes down half a size. We occupied four lanes. There were eleven of us. My group of three bowled 3.5 games. We got tired and abandoned our last game. The good news is that our bowling skills were similar (we sucked... haha). In all seriousness, I had a ton of fun. I managed to get a strike and hit triple digits with a 102 score. It was fun bonding with everyone. The place is clean. There are a ton of bowling balls to choose from. Washrooms are clean. Staff members were helpful and friendly. I paid for our entire bill. I am the only person on the team who can expense anything. Our tab was roughly $430. That's pretty good. The food makes up half of that, at least. So, if you are tired of bowling on your Nintendo Wii and want to bowl for real, come here. (115) read more

My friends and I came by around 8pm on a Wednesday and saw that they were closed for the night until 9:30pm because of bowling leagues. My friend mentioned that this wasn't communicated to on the website but it wasn't an issue, we just went to the local pub. We asked to purchase for an hour but they said that they didn't do that on Wednesdays but instead offered unlimited play until I believe 11:45pm for $10/person which was great. I kind of wished they turned up the music a bit louder because their playlist was really good! A pitcher of Moosehead Lager was about $18 which isn't too bad. My friends and I had a lot of fun playing, though the lightest bowling ball they had was 8 lb. which is slightly too heavy for me LOL. 2.5/5 stars. A bunch of us decided to go bowling for my sister's birthday. We all brought our printed coupon so we could get 2 free games. However, when we got there we all discovered that Thursday night games are only 25 cents each. What a great deal! Not really! Let me explain why. The games might be super each but there is a $5 cover and shoe rentals were $2. Cover to go bowling?? I never knew this was like a club or something. Besides the random cover charge that we had to pay we had a blast. There were no problems with the screen and our lane. Later that night when I was at home I decided to check out Planet Bowl's website. Their Wednesday and Thursday "special" isn't really a special because the rest of the week there isn't cover charge. You would just pay $2/game and $2 for the shoes. It's not worth it if you play 1-2 games. PS: They don't split bills if you're all in a group to bowl. read more

Went here on a groupon and was pleasantly surprised. Modern, spacious and clean, including the washrooms. Young man at front of house gave much more pleasant service than the young lady. We received excellent service from the Orbit Cafe servers - sweet potato fries were tasty, not oily, and they even delivered our food to our lane. I used the services at the pro shop at this location and it was amazing! Me, my brother and my fiancé came to drill holes into our new bowling balls (which we got from a league at Brunswick!) Eric definitely did his job by educating us, entertaining us and doing an amazing job at measuring our hands for the perfect fit to our balls he examined the flexibility and grip of our hands and measured the length and width of each finger. We paid him $90 cash for 3 balls, which is awesome! We tried our balls right away and we're all extremely happy with it! It makes such a huge difference to have a ball made just for you! Sooooo if you're looking for a place to get holes drilled in your balls (get your mind out of the gutter) then this is the place to go!! read more

Oh wow! I can't believe how good the food was and how nice the facility is. The new bigger screen they installed for prepping up for the Pan Am games is nice, and the laminate flooring replacing the carpet makes the place look nice sure. But what really got me were the new leather couches replacing the plastic chairs. They were so comfy! Only down part with the new upgraded facility was that there seems to be a lack of bowling balls. It wasn't busy so it was easy for us to find our size, not sure how it is during busy times. Now the food! I'm blown away at how good it was. The pizza are neapolitan style pizza, the authentic stuff. Thin and crispy crust. So good! And I love the bite size chicken wings, my friend ordered it so I didn't know what flavour they were but it was a huge order! There were 8 of us and the pizza and wings were more than enough. Not sure why but the pizza took a while or maybe because I was just hungry! This is not your old bowling alley. So good planning to come back next weekend with my girlfriend! Prices have skyrocketed - be warned. Been here a few times as its a really good facility, so many lanes and most importantly prices are (or were) incredibly cheap. approx $3 per person per game + shoe hire I usually paid for 4 games as a couple $25-$30 total on the weekend. So imagine my surprise when we turned up and the cashier said 1 or 2 hours - I asked what this was and how much. for 1 hour + shoes the total was $52 (and double that for 2 hours)!!! I nearly fell on the floor....double what I used to pay! The website also still had the old prices, we asked the cashier if they changed their prices and confirmed are trying to cash in after the pandemic, so we left it. I'm not tight but these hourly extortionate prices for what should be a cheap activity are what they charge in the GTA and one of the reasons I was a repeat customer here. I understand due to Covid businesses have suffered and will probably increase prices, but this is just pure greed. perfect place to hang out with friends and spend a friday night! if you do plan to go on the weekends be prepared to be told that you have to wait 45 minutes to an hour when you usually wait only 20-30. My experience there was good other than the fact that when we got our shoes, the girl at the counter seemed miserable and did not crack one smile whatsoever. If you want your Friday night bowling experience to resemble one of David Bowie's earlier acid trips, then this is the place for you. But seriously, the lighting is your standard fair psychedelic glow-in-the-dark UV experience (not my cup of tea). The food is abysmal, but what can you expect from a bowling alley anyways. The staff are nice enough and helpful. Little children running around the place all the time so watch your step, I nearly trampled a little girl turning around to walk to the counter. We went here on a Friday evening with a bunch of friends, the place is very expensive, as they charge by the game, not by the hour. So, we ended up paying more that what we expected to. My daughter and I went in on Sunday to have a daughter/daddy date. 1st off we had to wait 1 hour till the bowling league finished, yet with over 20 lanes unused, I guess my money wasn't good enough like league money. Then we played 3 games and "The Computer" said we played 6 and was charged for 6. I will never go to this rip off place again...Don't try the manager John Chapman he's in on the scam...If you do decide to go to this rip off bowling make sure keep a tab on how many games you play, because "The Computer" will double it and even though you know how many games you played, you're wrong and the computer is always right...as per John Chapman "The Manager's" words... read more

For a family outing we were at the bowling center 2nd Dec'18 at 3.30pm After one game of bowling and in between the second game at 4.20pm the gate came down and wouldn't go up. So we went up to the counter and asked the lady at the customer service to fix it, she said she would and never said anything else to us and within a couple of minutes the gate went up and the pins came down, we signaled to the ladies wondering if it was good to go, since we got no response from them and no other warning to wait, my husband resumed his game just as he bowled the gate came down again. My husband went back to the lady at the counter and her immediate response was "You'll broke the machine", we were aghast that she made such an accusation at us. She was so rude ans spoke to us in a very harsh manner. We tried to explain to her that the gate came down after my husband had bowled the ball, all she said was you'll should have waited for us to tell you'll, but she never asked us to wait when she first said she would fix it. If she had said to us to wait till I give you the signal to go ahead ,we would have happily waited for her to tell us to go ahead, but since nothing was said by them, even though my husband signaled to them we got no response, so we thought it was ok to go ahead and bowl. Even after all that the two girls kept accusing us of having broken the machine. We are professional bowlers and know that if the gate is down we would never bowl, but the girls kept telling us we did it on purpose and that we bowled even though the gate was down. I think that was not acceptable under any circumstance, accusing a customer that they are at fault especially when we kept re-iterating the fact that we did not do anything wrong intentionally. When I asked for their names they refused to give it to us. We really felt humiliated and I don't think anyone should have to go through this . If you have cameras we would like you to see the footage just to prove that we would never bowl when the gate is down on purpose, we were in lane 24. What was supposed to be a joyous occasion turned out to be a nightmare Am writing to u so no one else has to go through such bad customer service at the bowling center where families come to spend quality time together and bad customer service makes us never want to come again and spoils what would have been a perfectly lovely evening. I did speak to John Chapman the manager and he asked me to send an e-mail which I did but got no response from them. We organized a party for our son here, as he once attended another one here and he liked it. It was the worst party ever. The staff (actually one clueless girl) was completely useless and they took no time to explain to the kids (most of them 6 and 7 year olds) or us how to play. A bag of popcorn was missing. All kids were eating theirs exept one. I asked for an extra, and it took the clueless girl 5 minutes to bring it. We had to go and usk for the juices to be brought. We ordered extra pop drinks for adults. They never brought them but in the end we were charged for the drinks. A complete rip-off. I was hoping to organize more events there in the future, but that won't happen. Avoid the place, that's all I can say. read more

Went bowling with a group of 6 people last week, asked for 2 rounds of bowling; Very poor customer service. One of our bowlers (12 y/o) has a disability and has limited use of her right arm, making bowling a bit of a challenge. we asked for bumpers to be put up and explained the reason why - staff was hesitant but agreed to do it. About half way through our game another staff member came over and put the bumpers down and shouted that we weren't allowed to have them up because there was no one under 10 years old...I have NEVER had a problem requesting bumpers at any other bowling alley...When I inquired further, the staff member was short and snappy and repeated that nobody was under 10. I asked for clarification as I'd never heard this rule, she said that we would damage the bumpers by hitting the bowling balls against them. Is that not what bumpers are for? to be bumped in to by bowling balls? Quite confusing. the 12 y/o was clearly becoming uncomfortable and so I did not make more of a fuss. I politely went up to the desk following this interaction and explained that we would be ending our time short and explained why. The staff member seemed unbothered, no apology issued...and to make matters worse, another member of our group went up to the desk afterwords (because our lane stopped working) and overheard the staff talking about how much trouble I was giving them. I will not be coming back to this location and will be letting my friends and family know about the lack of accessibility and understanding/common courtesy we received. read more

Let me start it off like this: Planet Bowl is MUCH better than Bowlerama. I prefer Planet Bowl since it's much cleaner, much bigger and the bowling alley food actually tastes good! The staff could have been much nicer and welcoming, but I don't blame them for not being hyped up with customers since they work at a bowling alley. Obviously not the best place to work. Some of the brand new leather sofas they have are now ripped, and it looks pretty nasty. But the highlight was definitely the food. Try the nachos and cheese, its my fav. I came here on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't busy at all. This place is great for a kid's birthday party or just for a nice date. And everyday they're open pretty late (like 12am or 2am). But 100% better than Bowlerama. read more
