I have been coming here since it first opened several years ago. The workers have always been courteous and helpful when needed. I like the various machines that I can isolate certain areas of my body. Even though I do not use the free weights I think it is a great improvement for the overall population of the gym. read more

I have been going to Planet Fitness for years now, at least 5xs a week. This location in the past 6 months has went absolutely down hill. Outside of the groups of teenagers that the staff allows to congregate around machines and take up for 30+ minutes, and horseplay around. The overall staff changes has not been for the better. They are rude and seem to only be interested in their own conversations with each other and hanging out with their friends around the check in and on the floor then handling concerns and trying to speak politely with paying members who come for workouts. In addition a few times where we have addressed the fact that the whole gym on certain days and after certain hours will reek of marijuana, they don't care. Who wants to workout somewhere when all you can smell is weed? The new equipment is not worth the hassle that it has came with anymore and truthfully no one seems to care. The employees do not reflect the owner(s) well. read more

I am a black card memberI go to several PFs. this has to be the worst to go at rush time. seems like the members there feel it is ok to use multiple machines at the rush time. yesterday, Feb 27th 2023, a woman was at the tricep dip area and was doing shoulder flIrs. as I approached she said I'm using that! I shook my head and said you're doing flies, kinda rude to held up multiple stations at 4pm. there is always someone leaning on the smith machines and bull shitting. why isn't the staff monitoring this? this is an everyday occurrence. it has gotten to where I avoid this gym. don't we all pay our membership? can't these butter faces be more courteous!!? read more

Planet Fitness - Gyms Near Me - Austintown, Ohio

Black Card member here. Black Card members have unlimited free guest privileges, free tanning, free hydro-massage, free massage chairs, and 1/2 off the refreshment cooler all for only $20/month. I've never really had a problem with this location. I usually go sometime in the AM between 10 and Noon. Never had to wait for a machine during these times. Someone on staff is usually always going around filling up paper towels, squirt bottles, cleaning machines, and cleaning locker areas. The personal trainer, Colin, has always been available for questions, and instructions on how to properly do certain exercises, and properly use equipment. He's always been positive and motivating. The front desk personnel have always been friendly and helpful whenever I've asked for something. The only things I would like to see here, which they don't have....are maybe yoga classes, and/or spinning. But they really don't have the space for that....unless they were to take over adjoining parts of the building. read more

Normally I really enjoy this planet fitness. But recently the staff has been rude and not very friendly. I feel uncomfortable walking in.

Planet Fitness' marketing model is to cram as many people as possible into a fitness center on the lowest dime. The unfortunate reality is that the high traffic doesn't give you enough space to do your fitness routine. And, frequently, there is broken equipment that never seems to get fixed. Lately, a good number of pads on equipment are cracked from overuse and never seem to get replaced. It's a throwback to a couple of months ago when it took them two weeks to fix their wifi. Seriously? My wife and I had high aspirations for the Austintown PF, but all of those aspirations have been dashed on the rocks principally because of poor maintenance and cramming so many people into one fitness center. In good conscience, I can't recommend to anyone getting a membership there. read more
