Our gym is bigger than most in the area. I used to love it. But some black card amenties need fixed badly now. There are very few exercise bands. This is mainly due to the entire summer of making planet fitness a free teen hangout. I'm livid about this. Things are not put back where they belong. Equipment is held up by loiterers. The staff isn't trained to be more responsible to make sure that teenagers know the etiquette. Going to the gym is hard enough without having to constantly ask people to move. This promotion would be over if staff had to do that. It's literally a free for all. I can't imagine this in the cities. Plus exposing a lot of scantily clad young naive underrage girls (whose primary goal in life is getting attention from men ) to even more "seeking" men is probably a liability waiting to happen. That's if there isn't a class action brought by paying customers. Also, the last thing that women who are struggling with their weight want to be around while they are also struggling with exercising is a bunch of skinny girls in skimpy outfits rubbing it in their face that they really don't even have to exercise or diet.Let's face it, high school age girls have never been models of weight acceptance and are not what you want to crowd a " judgement free zone" with. 3 months is way too long for a free promotion. Give them a week's worth of vouchers. It less easy for them to converge in large groups. I'm thinking of finding another adult gym. read more

There are actually beds called cryo lounges available at some planet fitness clubs. I never stated I had an issue with the beds. I said that they need updated. Several friends are going elsewhere due to the outdated tanning beds. read more

My wife and I have been Black Card members of the Bridgeport, WV Planet Fitness for several years. About the middle of last month PF started doing a massive renovation during business hours!!! Bathrooms and dressing rooms have been closed for about a month now but they are quick to point out that they have provided Porta-potties outside the gym, around the side of the building. My wife will no longer go to PF because of the bathroom situation!!! Several areas of the gym and the equipment in those areas are now roped off and members are not able to access the equipment. The environment is very loud and dirty due to the construction. This morning another area and the equipment in the area has been restricted so I couldn't complete my workout. Many of the Black Card services are no longer available...but we're still being charged the higher rate. As a consumer, the value of my Planet Fitness membership has very rapidly decreased to almost nothing!!! Staff members are obviously frustrated and unable to provide any concrete information on when the renovation will be complete...they can only tell you that it is "supposed" to be done in August but based on the little progress being made I suspect it will be much later than August. I'm not sure who at the corporate level came up with the idea to do a renovation during core business hours but in my view, it is a complete failure and a terrible disservice to the members. The only bright side is that the chaos at PF drove me to go take a tour at a different gym this morning and based on what I saw, a change of gyms may well be in my immediate future. I absolutely would NOT recommend the Bridgeport, WV Planet Fitness to anyone at this time. read more

Okay, so yes, this is the Walmart of gyms, taking out the small business owner who can't keep up with $10 per month gym memberships....but I love it! I pay $20 plus the yearly fee (I think it is $40ish...I can't remember exactly.). This gets me access to the gym, one unlimited guest privilege, tanning, massage chairs and beds, and half off bottled water. The place is clean. It has a variety of up-to-date work out equipment to meet everyone's needs. Every cardio machine has its own tv. The atmosphere is a nice mix of the very athletic and the average out-of-shape Joe. My only complaint is the limited weekend hours. The gym closes at 10pm on Friday nights and is only open 7am-7pm on Saturday and Sunday. read more

We have been members for over a year, very few of the TVs work and if you find a tv that will turn on you can't listen or change the channels because the earphone ports are either missing or broke. I rode one upright bike last nite that was broke and probably dangerous. Very disgusted. read more

i have left three messages to ext 402 in the last 18 hours. they are more than willing to take my money, but too busy to return a call. some of us members are too far away to just drive on down to see them. the message is they are helping other members. now i am upset they no one can give me a courtesy call!!! that is the reason for only one star. if there were less that is what i would have picked. maybe this bad review will get me a phone call. with the weather here being so cold, this old man does not need to go out in it!!! robert f read more

I pay for a black or platinum monthly membership so I can tan as well too (my primary reason for the membership actually is tanning) and lately they have not been keeping their tanning beds up. I laid in bed 4 today and counted 9 bulbs out just in the top! And it is a 12 minute level 2 bed! The only other level 2 bed is bed 5, and I noticed many bulbs out in it as well last time, the face tanner was awful and ALL of the shoulder tanning bulbs were out! The only hot bed they have is bed 7, a 14 minute level 1 bed. And maybe one of the standing beds which I do not prefer. We pay a hefty monthly membership fee and a yearly fee in June to use these services and they are not upkeeping their equipment! Yet they can afford to pay 3 people to stand at the front desk doing nothing but playing on their phones?! If they don't fix this issue soon, I will be dropping my membership and looking elsewhere. Gym is so hot it's diffucult to work out, it seems they keep it at a temperature comfortable for the staff not the members working out. It is clean but not all members are considerate enough to clean machines after use, especially those with sweat towels that they use to clean the machines with, and the staff let them. read more
