Young but great staff! Youngest being 16 whom gave us a tour, that helped us decide to join. At times, the people who workout together is a drag as they monopolize the equipment, so as long as you can pivot and go with an alternate plan it is good. The couples that are doing mushy face in between their work out , annoying but again pivot and start in a different place or another plan. The place is clean all around, staff is friendly and helpful. Time of day to workout is crucial to avoid the above, which most of the time I can. This is one of the cheapest options if you need a gym in this area. Very clean, friendly staff, tanning, body enhancement - red light and massage chair options. I've been a member for over 5 years. I'm a 70ish retiree, and my irregular schedule allows me to experience PF at different times on different days. I try to work out three times a week when I'm in town, and generally succeed at least twice a week, including through most of COVID. My workouts are about 2 hours. Consistent things: *The equipment is plentiful and in good condition, and what you need is generally available with little or no wait except at the very busiest of times. HVAC works well, too. *The facility is clean and well lit, including showers and bathrooms. Most of the time some staff is engaged in cleaning .*Staff is courteous and helpful. Patrons range from students to Moms to serious jocks to Grandpas. You see people of all ages. Some socialize, some don't. Everyone seems friendly. *A knowledgeable trainer is available for free consultations, and offers workout assistance and coaching by appointment at no charge. *Lockers are in good shape and clean. Bring your own lock, but remove it when you leave. *There is plenty of shopping center parking. *For $10 per month, the math is clear: +/- $1 per visit. It would be a great deal at twice the price. I've been given several workout plans over the years that were fitted to my needs and abilities. In ~6 years I've lost a bit of fat and gained more muscle, mostly in the shoulders and backside, and the net result is about 7lb gain (to 185) on a 6' frame. My physical appearance has improved significantly...today I look fit rather than just thin. 03/11/24 2:00 pm Absolutely horrible service was charged twice for a guest day pass.Received a notification to the double charges on my account immediately after paying at the front desk.I politely told the front desk employee that she charged me twice I then showed her my recent transactions on my phone she completely disregarded me and said the first charge was the guest fee and the second one is a "Ghost Fee".Their was nothing ghost about it because it was deducted from my account.They refused to accept their error and kept repeating that it's a "Ghost Fee" they tried to stop me from my workout but I continued now I'm disputing the Ghost Fee.Nothing on the P.F. policy mentions anything about Ghost fees they made that up and instead of apologizing and refunding they embarrassed me in front of everyone. read more

I'll compare this PF to my former PF. First and foremost for me is sanitation even prior to COVID-19 they are fantastic. Don't have to bug them to replace empty paper towels or sanitizer. Spotless machines. I have no expectations when it comes to fitness advice and have never seen a class so I can't critique. They go about their business as I do mine. Honestly what can you expect for the price. They are neither rude nor "friendly" Lastly compared to Hiram they are usually emptyish at the times I am there. So do I recommend...You Bet! New computer to sign in to tan. Was there 31 minutes before my 24 hours to tan again. They would not let me tan. I take lunch at different time every day. This new rule is crazy! over the years they have never done this. Not to mention the tanning was down for 8 days with no warning. all the guys do at the front desk is talk to each other! Long time member and today was the last straw. I usually leave irritated after doing the 30 minute circuit because it is not monitored by staff and people jump on the machines randomly or sit in there on their cell phones while I'm trying to work out. Today, I made a special trip to use the tanning bed. Signed up and was told there was only one person ahead of me. I sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes and after a couple of people went in and out Iahead of me, I went to check my reservation and was told I wasn't in there but could sign in again. I couldn't wait longer and left without using a perk I have paid for for years. read more

Have been a member of almost every gym in town over the years and surprisingly impressed with everything about this Planet Fitness. The staff is incredibly friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The variety and number of cardio machines and workout equipment is great...never had to wait to use either. Also, appears to be very clean and well maintained. Glad to be a member. Will be traveling soon and plan on visiting the PF in that town and love that I'm able to do that as well. read more

Staff can be pretty rude at times, talking negatively about you under their breath & laughing at you with other staff members. Childish. and unprofessional. I am a regular PF member (as opposed to a Black Card member) in Macon. When I travel, I usually just use the gym at the hotel I am in rather than tracking down and getting to a PF. Because of that, the Black Card membership is really not worth the cost to me since I would only use the reciprocity feature (the only benfit I would use) a couple of times a year. I was in Cartersville over Christmas and went to the PF for a workout. Unfortunately, they wanted $20 for one workout! I was prepared to pay $10 (which is what I thought the cost to be at all PFs) but the guy at the counter (who was really nice) said he couldn't change the fee without a manager's ok and the manager was not going to be in for a few hours. He asked if I was going to be in town long and could come back. I told him it was my last day. In retrospect, I think he might have been asking that because the $20 would cover multiple days (something he did not volunteer and which I did not think to ask since I was leaving that day.) All in all, I love PF and this one is no exception. I also understand that these are franchises, they can charge what they want, that none of the money I pay for my membership in Macon goes to them and that I could choose to upgrade to a Black Card membership at my local gym (for an extra $120 / year) which would get me in here for $0 when I come to Cartersville but c'mon, $20 for one workout is ridiculous! I really wish there was some flexibility there. I ended up going over to BodyPlex where they only charged me $7. read more

I recently canceled my old gym and upgraded to planet premium membership. This is a large establishment and has everything you need to workout. No worries because there are no judging and no gym grunters or weight droppers. The cost is pretty good for tan, massage, and ex exercise. Wifi seems to work pretty good read more

Clean and well-kept facility, smartly laid out. But Emily, one of the morning counter folks, has an attitude bad enough to chop two stars. No eye contact, no greeting, and no charisma. Makes it hard to justify the attitude. Whatever is wrong, I didn't do it and neither did you. Glad it isn't my home gym. Good gym. I have been to many planet fitness locations in several states and I would rate this on right in the middle. Clean equipment, nice staff, good locker rooms, all the usual PF amenities. Low energy though. Each time I went, I didnt feel the energy to work out. Thats a clientel thing though in my opinion. Maybe choose better music and amp the clients up more. Ultimately, I rate this place really well because I cant see anything wrong with it from a physical standpoint. Its just a 'meh' energy level when working out here. Bottom line, good gym! read more

Black card is a great value, I love that I can tan AND workout AND bring a friend (every single time if I want) in the past I've paid more for a gym membership than $20 and I've paid more to JUST tan than $20 so the two combined is awesome. I absolutely love this gym! Everyone has always been so nice and helpful. I was here when they had their grand opening last year I believe it was and have watched some of the changes, like the hydro bed which is my absolute favorite part. The locker rooms are also quite amazing. My husband and I go together as much as we can and try a lil of everything they have to offer. My favorite honestly is the medicine ball and all of the leg machines. My husband loves the weights of course. I've also visited others that were around the area like in Kennesaw and this location is by far the best and cleanest. If your looking for a gym that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, this is definitely it. And if you keep your eye out you can join when the deposit is low, like I joined before they opened and just had to pay $1, and I do believe they did that again this July. I've been a member at planet fitness in Acworth GA for years. I recently upgraded to the black card membership so I can take my son with me. On 7/31/2015 on my lunch break I wanted to try out the new planet fitness in Cartersville GA. When I walked in to scan my bar code key tag that was on my phone Eric one of the employees told me it was the rules that he physically take my phone and scan it, that members were not allowed to do so themselves. I asked him to show me where in the rules that it says that I must do so. He could not do so. He then told me that I could see a manager if I wish. I then waited another fifteen to twenty minutes before she finally came to the front. The managers name was Ally. I explained my situation to her and she was very apologetic. I asked her why I have to hand my phone that I paid almost eight hundred dollars for to some person I didn't even know, because if he drops it and breaks it he's not responsible. She then showed me a scanning wand device that they can scan your key tag with. At that point they already used up most of my time for my lunch break. Not a very pleasant experience for my first visit to that gym. Hopefully they train their staff a little better on the equipment and how to properly take care of their customers. It looks like a great gym I just wished I could have tried it that day. read more
