Sorry, but I would not rate this gym, unless there is a minus sign, as Marlu is completely oblivious what what is going on in this gym, with the characters that work there and there is no sense in saying anything, as these kids that work there and they are children, not adults, have no sense in customer service. When it is 40 degrees outside it is almost 80% inside, not counting the stagnant air and the humidity. I have been to gyms all over the country and this is the hottest gym I have ever been to and it is so hot when you just walk in the door, that it is uncomfortable, before you even start warming up. You can say what you want to these children and even to Marlue, but they will say the air is on, but I have brought them over to where the air was coming out of the vents and showed them it was WARM AIR. Today is December 23rd and i went to work out and as soon as i walked in the door, even though it was 45% this morning, it was at least 75%, plus humidity in the building and the girl said they never turned on the heat and the air was on, which was a total LIE. I do not think Marlue cares about any of the customers and this gym is buty a playground for her to say , LOOK FAMILY, I OWN A BUSINESS!!. Yes she went to business school, but did not learn anything about customer service. I mentioned to the manager about the heat and he said, that a few people complained it was to cold in there, when they walked in and they said they would quit if it was not warmer. That is the most dumbest thing I've ever heard, as the body heats up when working out and you can always add clothing, but you can not walk around naked, in the gym, but even then it would be to hot. So many people complain about how HOT IT IS, and I say that they need to complain to the owner and they say, it will not do any good, as she does not care, which they are 100% right. If I had to rate this gym, I would give it a minus - 5, as it is the worse gym, ran by the worse owner you will ever encounter, as she does not CARE ABOUT HER CUSTOMERS, WHO PAY TO WORK OUT, SO HER TURN OVER IS VERY HIGH. I would say to go somewhere else, even if it is smaller, or a little further away, as Marlue will never LISTEN or CARE FOR THE PAYING CLIENT. Restaurants are cooler then this gym and the only work out people get in a restaurant is with a fork, but that has been brought out to her attention and yet it has never changed. STAY AWAY FROM BODY PLEX, AS THIS OWNER GIVES BODYPLEX A BAD REPUTATION FOR HOW A GYM SHOULD NOT BE RAN. MARK THE MANAGER WILL NOT GO OUT OF HIS WAY, AS HE JUST SITS AROUND LIKE THE REST , DOING NOTHING AT ALL. I know this is long, but another good size gym , needs to open up in Cartersville and mabe it will put her out of business, as she has proven over the years, that customers are nothing but GARBAGE and some one to pay the bills. Walk into the gym and see how hot it is, the men's room is cooler then the gym. The heat drains your energy and your strength, so unless your going there to play with your phone and text people or talk and socialize or just to say you are going to a gym or went to a gym, then your there for what Marlu is doing, but if you are there to gain musle, or tone your body good or get stronger, like most people do when going to a gym, then this place is not for you. read more

I really wish I could give Bodyplex a 5 star rating. The gym is beautiful and the trainers are amazing, unfortunately I think that something must be going wrong in that area considering the high turnover of trainers. Within the last 6 months I can think of numerous that have left (Jennifer, Matt, Mari, Sean, etc.). The issue for me is the billing. It is very obvious that this gym is all about ROI and not focused on customer experience. As someone who works in franchise development, this is very disturbing to me because companies don't survive when they have this mindset. My two biggest complaints are (1) Cost/Contracts and (2) Availability of Trainers. (1) When I signed up for twice a week training (usually $299 a month), plus a no-contract membership ($42/mo), I was given a discount of $30 off of my monthly training to make my training $269. After their fitness director left (remember poor retention of staff) my monthly membership fee went up to $299. I was not called or emailed about this $30 price increase. So far, this has cost me an additional $210 in additional fees I was not expecting. I actually didn't notice the change until recently because I had trusted BodyPlex. I also think that when you are paying $300 a month for personal training (for eight 30 min. [4 hours total/mo] sessions) they should not be charging you the monthly membership fee. At most other gyms this price is included in the PT cost. If you decide that you are no longer satisfied with the gym, to cancel your membership you need to pay %50 of the remaining total on your contract. So, if you are 6 months in and you decide you want to quit, you have to pay for 3 of the remaining months on your contract in one full payment. No negotiations. (2) I absolutely loved the trainers there. Gerald, Blair and Sean are all amazing. However, because they only keep about 4-5 trainers staffed their times that they are available to meet with clients is very limited. Getting a PT class between 7-8am or 5-7pm was nearly impossible. You would have to wait to see if someone cancelled. For this reason I needed to work with multiple trainers to make my schedule work, but it still was too stressful given my work schedule. I needed to be able to go in and have a trainer available to work with me. All trainers were always busy. This will only work if you have a set schedule and can commit to exact days and times each week. There were many times that because of my work schedule I could only get in there once a week when we compared my availability and the trainers. Again, this is in no way the trainers fault but was definitely the managements responsibility. I am giving the gym 2 stars because it is very clean and the trainers are fantastic. The group classes are awesome and so is the nursery. However, I have been to numerous other gyms and this one is 100% not worth the cost if you are interested in training. If you were interested in the basic monthly membership then it does compare to the new Planet Fitness. read more

Absolute WORST gym to go, EVER! Dale and Mark held this place together. They were the smiling faces of this gym. Now Keith Turner is the manager and I have ZERO respect for this person. He decided it was okay to tell me he doesn't get paid to talk to stuck up BITCHES like me when i called to ask about my account. How a grown man gets away with calling any female a bitch is beyond me. It also was brought to the owners attention. How this guy still has a job here is baffling to me. He is disrespectful as all can be and needs to learn how to speak to people. If you want to be called a bitch when you call to ask questions about billing, and get hung up on repeatably then this gym is for you. I highly do NOT recommend this gym to any one until Keith is no longer employed here. read more

It is unfortunate that the owner of BodyPlex Cartersville is unable to find it in her heart to refund the money rendered for service by a trainer than is no longer employed. She apparently can't afford to refund $150. She is also having a staff member make legal threats because those involved in the situation are sharing it online. I suppose you reap what you sew. I hope that the practices of this business improve and their customer service skills are dealt with accordingly. Business owners who make a habit of stealing money are not the type of business that anyone I know wants to do business with. read more

Contract is terrible. They are all about the money and not customer service. Not teen friendly. And unless you are already in top notch shape you will feel judged and out of place. I'm not a gym person but Bodyplex staff is always welcoming. I absolutely love their services. clean, friendly, professional, etc. I also appreciate their compassion for local nonprofits and how they are always willing to sponsor and be a part of the solution rather than the problem. read more

This Gym is by far the best one in Cartersville GA. I love the staff and the members are great. The kidsplex staff is great with taking care of my child so I can get an great workout in I love this place there is no judgement and no better place to workout at. read more
