Great staff, Planet Fitness Chambersburg without a doubt stepped up their game with the new renovations. The timing and length of renovations was tedious, but they for sure made up for lost time with the fresh and spacious environment of the gym. I would recommend giving this gym a shot. read more

To begin with the clients are clearly walking around wearing next to no thing, on their phones, clogging up all the machines. There are large groups that come in together that constantly monopolize the triple cable machines. They sit on their phones and sit on the machines indefinitely. Then, without warning, they want to cancel the silver sneakers program, that I have been with since they opened, even during Covid I stuck with them. But to cancel my insurance coverage? Inexcusable. I don't even go that often because I work 3rd shift, but I pay extra for the black card for a massage chair. But I'm done. They changed their hours so that they are closed when I am off, and now are canceling my insurance. So, good luck. I hope everyone else cancels and the gym gets closed down forever, read more

Most people are healthy that patronize your business. But there are a lot of others who are essentially working out to improve their health due to Dr's. Orders! Take a breath of FRESH AIR, and Think about that for a moment.... The Chambersburg Pennsylvania, location for the most part has a great Staff, as I've witnessed! I would perhaps rate them at 4.5.... It is not bad... EXCEPT- it's a great habitat for potential COVID Virus outbreak! I have visited on occasion... experienced little to no air conditioning, only ceiling fans on high rotations! COVID-19 transmission in closed, hot areas, especially with poor ventilation, can contribute to the virus spreading. Of course being a workout facility, it is indeed confined and enclosed spaces with poor ventilation, which can allow infectious particles to accumulate, increasing the risk of exposure and transmission. Other than this, the equipment is in great shape, its clean, not a whole lot of nonesense of overexposure of body parts at this location!! Kudos for that!!! I have been going to Planet Fitness for three years across the US and just recently moved to Chambersburg, PA where I have been going for six months. I go in, I do my workout and mind my own business. I was approached four days ago and told that I couldn't have my bag on the floor, the same bag I have been using in this gym and for the past three years. I asked where I was to put it, and was told in the locker room. I told the girl that I have all my gym equipment and can't carry it all loosely. I am a 64 year-old woman trying to stay in shape, minding my own business. I told her I couldn't put it in the locker room and carry all my stuff to use and then have all my stuff loose on the floor. I have noticed multiple other people with bags, some much larger than mine, and nothing being said. And these people were in their 20s. The next time I came in the gym, she approached me again and said put your gym bag in the locker room and again I told her I need these things and I can't carry them loosely. I asked to speak with the manager. I asked her for solutions. I asked if the bag was the problem. I said help me understand how I can have this stuff with me to work out if a bag is not allowed. What exactly do we need to do? I asked to speak to the manager again. She came back on the phone with her manager, but would not allow me to speak to that manager. Instead, she told me to leave the gym and called the police when I said I was staying and finishing my workout. The police came and escorted me out and I can no longer go to that gym. What's in my gym bag? I have my workout gloves, I have straps to help me hold the weights. I have wristbands for those times when my wrists hurt. I have a strap that goes around my arm when I'm having problems with my elbow, I have the foot wedges for when I work on squats, because the plates hurt my feet. I have the pad to go on the bar. I have a fitness log to write stuff down, so I know exactly what I've been doing each time. The only thing this gym provides out of what I have, is the pad for the bar.I understand policies, but I also understand enforcing it for every person, and in this case, this was blatant age discrimination. I needed the bag to help me manage my things and there was no thought or consideration for any accommodation for someone who needs it, and to kick me out of the gym because of it, is wrong. There was no explanation of why a bag wasn't allowed, nor was there a willingness to look for solutions or to try to understand why I needed my bag. She brought a piece of paper that I guess had it listed a bag wasn't allowed, however, I never saw the paper, and I couldn't have read it without my glasses with me. The girl just said I was giving her an attitude. Of course, this is the same girl on the previous night that was walking around with her other friend who was supposed to be working, flirting and giggling with all the guys in the gym instead of working, while equipment couldn't be cleaned because the towel dispenser was empty, and yet we feel the need to harass a 64 year-old woman who needs her bag. read more

-5 stars Terrible cancellation policy. Specifically designed to make it hard to cancel so they can charge you more money. Front staff is super rude, gym wants you to pay extra money to send a certified letter asking you to end your membership. I can sign up online but I have to send a letter to cancel? in 2023?? Now they want me to pay more money and waste paper? Save your money, do not sign up here! not even a good gym anyways. read more

This planet fitness is pretty new. It is very clean inside. The staff is always very helpful and very friendly. The gym itself is never over crowded which makes it easy to get the machines that you would like. They give free pizza one Monday a month and free bagels one Tuesday a month. The only thing that is a little upsetting is that a lot of the members do not know how to properly use the equipment and could be causing themselves more harm than help. read more

Nice place , clean but it seems that is very acceptable for customers and some employees to hog 2-3 machines at the same time by leaving a water bottle or towel to save the machine. Once again 4/27/19 Someone monopolizing 3-4 cable stations at the same time, you should post a sign, one machine at a time read more

Staff is politely friendly but not overbearing. Constant refills of cleaning stations, and not too busy if you go closer to close. I would recommend wearing a hat if you're paranoid about judgment. read more

First off, I'll say something nice, There's a TON of cardio gear, and the inside of this gym IS impeccably clean. Maybe because they encourage members to shame and embarrass you if you dont wipe their equipment down after use.... Their payment system is terrible. They REQUIRE ACCESS TO YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT, your must give them your checking account and routing number... Its an idiotic way to pay. You can buy an energy drink with your credit card, but not your membership ? Get with it PF, seriously! They also encourage members to embarrass you with their " lunk alarm" if you drink water from a jug, or grunt when lifting weights. How childish. It's obvious they want to attract the casual user with all the cardio equipment and want to make the casual user comfortable. The warm-up area, dumbbells, free weights and benches are a total joke. This is a social club, not a serious gym. read more

Regardless of what other reviews say that the staff is rude, I have never found that to be the case. I would like to see the front desk better staffed, because those young men and ladies work very hard to accommodate everyone simultaneously, but that can make it seem like they are not focusing solely on one person at a time. I like it there and have no complaints. read more

Very clean and plenty of cardio machines. However, if you're more into lifting there is not a very good selection of those types of machines. The dumbbells only go up to 65 lbs. Most people that go there for cardio and for the very affordable price. read more

Staff is very rude. I think the facility is clean, however, I have never been to a planet fitness with such disrespectful staffing. they made me and my entire family feel very uncomfortable. Friendly staff, clean, and a nice selection of cardio. My only complaint is if you want to safely enjoy your on music forget about it. They blast bad non workout music over a bad sound system which forces paying patrons,which all are wearing earbuds,to damage their hearing in order to override what paying patrons do not want to hear.Definately would be a 5 star review if they would just turn down/off that music.If people wanted to hear it they would not be wearing earbuds.Thank you and Please turn it down!!! read more

Moving from area and planet fitness not only refused to refund my annual dues but refused to refund current months dues. Employees were unfriendly and informed me "we don't advertise that". Appeal to corporate was no more successful and I was told that deadline to refund annual dues was May 25, my dues weren't paid until July. Very dissatisfied with overall treatment by employees and corporate office. read more
