1) receptionists are in outer space and not friendly. 2) The observation area is terribly designed. You cannot view much of the kids pool and the lap lanes below. in the observation area where you can view the kids pools. 3) There is an outdoor observation area where you can view the kids pools below but parents are not allowed to access that area and if you do the receptionist will scream at you. 4) Some of the slides are not operational. 5) Today, one of the kids swim instructors was wearing a see through bra to teach class. I took my two toddlers here for a rainy day open swim. I thought it'd be packed but there was a handful of other families there. We had a blast. The splash pad was a huge hit with my boys. They have multiple slides, more than I even expected. However there is only 1 that is really an option for the younger kids that can't yet swim. I swim here (well trying to, new to swimming) and I like it a lot thus far. Being new I don't have any other pool to compare it to but still enjoy it. Even when the pool is busy you can catch a lane and the swimmers are very friendly and supportive. Life guards are also friendly, I liked it enough to spring for a 1 year pass and plan to keep coming back. I used to love this pool. But I was there last week. Didn't seem to have any issues for two days. And yes, I showered and shampooed afterward. But subsequent to that, both my skin and my scalp on my entire body seem to have become hypersensitive, and I am sure that it is the pool. Things became horrible by Sunday, but had started to become a problem gradually later Friday or early Saturday. I called the 311 number because I couldn't reach the county Health Department. It was his opinion that I go to the ER today. I went to Holy Cross of Germantown, and the doctor, who gave me a prescription for cortisone cream has advised that I not return to this pool. Neither of us is sure if it's a reaction to the chemicals used in the pool or something else. Let the user beware!I used to love this pool before my visit last week, and last swam there prior to COVID, I showered and shampooed before leavong. This was on July 19. S few days later I began having severe itching of my scalp and skin. I called 311 yesterday because I couldn't reach the health departmentBy the end of my conversations with the county employee, he told me to go to the ER. Eventually, I saw a doctor, who gave me a prescription cream, and told me to stay away from that pool and see the dermatologist. I will see if I can obtain the September 5 appointment today. The cortisone cream is greasy, but starting to relieve the itching. I haven't used it on my face yet. As a result of this experience, I am angry and concerned about going in a pool at all. I needed to swim and since pools aren't open for the season yet, found this place online. My husband and I get there for the evening lap pool and apparently, although I thought I had booked two slots, I had only booked one. The lady at the front desk and her boss made a way that my husband and I could still swim at the time I reserved for. The staff that we came across were friendly. Pretty expensive for non-Germantown residents ($30 in total for both me and my 2-year old), which is why I took away 1 star. Other than that, it was great!! I started swimming here after my outdoor pool closed at the end of the summer. The staff is doing a great job of keeping everyone safe during Covid, and reservations are required for a lap swim, which provides you with a dedicated lane. There are two pools available and the shallow (5ft-3ft) one suits my needs. In addition to the friendly staff, the other patrons are super nice and I've made a few friends as the late evening time seems to draw a regular following. I have only been on weeknights so I can't speak to the daytime or weekend situation. The KSC facility is closer to me but is too difficult to reserve. I now enjoy the Germantown facility and it's people, and find it worth the longer drive. read more

I really love this pool and the slides and it's not too pricey for in county residents either, now it is a lot more pricey if you are an out of county resident. The slides are fun but open swim can be pretty packed even with the covid guidelines. I suggest don't come to afternoon open swim if you want a bit more space during these times. I really love this pool! I had a phenomenal time!!! Not only the kids can have fun but adults can too with the adult slide :) The only tin I didn't like was the staff were so pushy and demanding to hurry up and take showers hurry and change bc they were closing. They didn't understand we were with a 1yr old baby and it's a hassle. They should have more patience and compromise a little for the people who have little ones. read more

I was heckled by 2 women, accusing my son of being over the age of 5. He's very tall for his age and when I told both ladies (separate occasions) that he was 5, they accused me of lying. There is a sign outside of the locker room that states children 6 years and over need to use the locker room of their gender. There was no way I was going to let my 5 year old go through the locker room by himself. I reached out to the director of the pool and the director of recreation for Montgomery county, but never heard back. Those women should be ashamed of themselves and the people I reached out to should learn to recognize that an apology would go a long way. read more

Just started a class in Deep Water Exercise so far it is wonderful and very clean. jumping in for a swim is great.

I was in the area and looking for a place to do laps. It's $10 for non-residents which is really not bad at all considering drop in rates for a day at the gym could be $15 or more. The lap lanes were all in use by older people water walking. I spoke with a lifeguard and sharing lanes and she warned me that they have a problem with people "lane hogging" and that if I had a problem, to let her know. Sure enough, I did have a problem. It almost discourages me from returning if it's something I will have to deal with every time. Still, it's a good place to go for a swim workout. read more

Great facility. Two 25-meter pools suitable for lap swimming. One is very deep and kept somewhat on the cold side (good for heavy workouts), and another is somewhat shallow and kept warmer. If you like to swim for exercise or just for fun, Germantown Indoor Swim Center is a fantastic place to go. The facility was built not long ago. The locker rooms are well kept and the pools are pristine. They have 3 pools: one competition pool with springboard and platform diving, one shallow leisure pool for water walking and rec swim, one play pool for kids and swim lessons. They also have 2 large whirlpools and a sauna. But the biggest attraction for kids are the 2 huge water slides. Be sure to check the pool schedule. There are specific times for rec swim, adult lap swim, etc. It can be difficult to get a swim lane when swim teams are practicing. There are several teams that practice during the week and they take up much of the pool space. read more

Have been here a number of times with my kids. There is a small water park that is very reasonably priced for county residents, a bigger slide for older kids, and two open pools for lap swimmers and just open swimming. Facility itself is great. They provide life jackets if your kids need them. My older son has also been taking swimming lessons here and I've been very pleased. He had been enrolled at the Kids First for over a year making pretty limited progress, but one six-week session at this pool and he had gotten over the hump. I think this is because they let the kids actually move around when it's not their turn to work with the teacher, unlike the other school where they made them all sit on the side and wait. Two things you do need to be careful of here. One, they are serious about traffic flow control. They are strict around open/close times for lessons and open swim sessions. Two, their communication regarding closures isn't always great. I've seen it be that there will be a notice posted at the pool itself regarding an upcoming closure, but nothing online. So if it's your first time going I might recommend physically calling and confirming they will be open. read more

It's a great swim facility for the children. The only drawback about this place would be the front desk staff and how rude they truly are. I have a similar complaint another patron had about a lady with glasses at the front desk. She was quite rude. Not a warm welcoming greeting when you walk in... We've only been once, and I was with kids, so there was no time for lap swimming. But the pool itself is awesome. So much for a wide range of ages and the lifeguards were all on guard. There should probably be some kind of rope at the bottom of the double small slide (there is one in one of the pictures) because without staff telling people when to go from the top of the slides - kids are just sliding into each other or into swimmers passing by. There are ample lockers + the bathrooms are clean. The viewing seats at the top are really nice. We'll be back. read more

The facility is very nice however the white lady at the front with black rimmed glasses was extremely RUDE. I waited in a line behind another person amd as soon as she was finished with him she walked away and completely ignored me. She checked in at least 8 other people. I waited in another line and when I got to the front I told her what she had done was very rude. All she could do was roll her eyes and say " i didnt see you". Really lady you looked at me dead in the eyes when i walked in, and you didnt see me? Give me a brake!! We got rained out of the splash park next door, but fortunately, the rec swim at this indoor pool was just about to start. It's a wonderful facility, and since we were there on a weekday afternoon, it wasn't crowded at all. We had 5 kids with us and they all wore themselves out on the waterslides and diving boards. The kids area is fun for everyone, and the accessibility of this pool was perfect for my elderly mother who could watch her grandkids play and even join them. read more

I've visited this pool many times with my family. Today must have been a bad day for everyone at the front desk. I walked up and stated I've purchased a punch pass and I have 5 kids with me. Lena the young girl at the desk says"WHAT"! Okay so now I'm confused because to me that's rude. I stated the samething and then asked can I purchase another! Again she says "WHAT"! So by now I'm pissed because to me she's being disrespectful or maybe lack customer service skills. I ask for the manager. The manager( a older white lady) starts helping guests who are having a pool party. So I stated I can wait till your done because what I need isn't urgent. Her tone of voice talking to the party host was something terrible. I had to ask the husband who was she talking to like that and she's rude as hell! Maybe it was because I'm black and they were Indian but needless to say it was totally unnecessary. Working with the public requires patience and customer service skills. They were lacking it all. If it was my sons party, I would've canceled it and left. My kids enjoy this pool even though we drive 45 minutes but not to deal with foolishness like this! This place would have been a nice indoor facility if it was cleaner. I felt so gross walking around with bare feet. It has mushrooms with water coming down from it, waterfalls and multiple slides for children. In addition, there's a diving board, swim lanes and a recreational pool. The swim hours are limited even during the summer time. You have a choice between 1-3pm or 4-6pm for recreational play time. We took our son who is 8months old and was told that he needed rubber pants (my first time hearing about this but apparently it's in their rules that are posted online). My son had swim diapers and swim trunks on. The boy tried to charge me $3 for a pack of Gerber rubber pants. Nowhere during this conversation did this boy tell me that someone had pooped in the kiddie pool and they had to close it down for 50mins. After I found out, I went to the front desk to demand a refund. The boy said they don't allow refunds, they only do rainchecks and the other day to get it since the manager wasn't there that day. We didn't even touch the water! Oh and get this, (my fault for not checking prices prior to going) they charged $5 for my son who is only 8 months old! Unless rules have changed, kids should not be charged unless they're 1 or older. I'm never coming back here...I feel jipped and this place is disgusting. read more

While this has the potential to be a great facility, my low rating comes from the fact that TWICE we have driven down from Frederick to find the pool closed. The first time it happened, nothing was listed on the website. When we asked at the front desk, we were told not to go by the website, but to call. Then why have the website!?! So the second time, I called and explained that I wanted to bring my daughter down to the Slide and Dip for her 13th birthday. I was assured the slides would be open. I double checked and told them about what happened last time. Again, I was assured that they would be open. So yesterday, on the day of her birthday, I drove 35 minutes to the pool and was told that the slides would not be open. I asked why and was told that they are never open from 3:30-5:30 on a weekday (despite it being on the website and being told over the phone that they would be open). I asked to speak to a manager. He also told me that they would not be opening the slides. Not one person offered an apology, a happy birthday greeting, nothing. So sad that this place can't seem to get it together enough to have a realistic schedule on their website or at least an informed front desk staff. It would have also gone a long way to hear a simply apology that we planned her birthday around this place and they just decided not to open it. Don't waste your time going here. read more
