The well at our house was down for a couple days and this PF was close by for us to use the rest room. Next I knew, we signed up so we had a place to shower! This Planet fitness is a really great facility. I've been a member of many different gyms and this one is by far one of the better kept facilities. All of the machines were clean & didn't have any signs of wear. The fitness equipment, tanning beds, and even massage devices were all in good working order. The locker room and restrooms were clean and comfortable. Another notable positive for this gym was the friendly and helpful staff. Every person that we spoke with was helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping us and answering my questions. They don't have a plow service, so the parking lot is a nightmare for several months out of the year. You have to toboggan or cross country ski across the several inches of snow and slush everywhere. Are yall that cheap you can't hire a plow? There's probably people frozen to the spot in the parking lot as we speak. Dangerous, and ridiculous. read more

This is my favorite Planet Fitness location! The staff is nice and helpful, the facility is large and clean, and the tanning beds and massage options are such a great added benefit. OK, so now after having to deal with two separate planet fitness locations in my area, I've come to the conclusion that the owners planet fitness are shit bags and they really do not care about making the custom experience easy. They just want to get you in to take your money. After being told, I cannot cancel my child's account at the location. I signed her up at because at some point she had made a different location her not only did I have to drive to the next to cancel membership but once I canceled it, I was told that the process of payment was still likely going to go through for this month I cannot say that anybody was overly friendly, helpful or caring. Just robots working at a shell of a company and all they do is leave equipment out for people to be able to use them but if you're looking for a full company that actually cares this is not the place to go. read more

I decided to join this gym this month. I like the location and the size of the gym. The people working here so far are friendly and pleasant. The place seems clean and well maintained. I like being able to work out at any location and bring a guest if I wish. I have been here several times to use their cardio. There was a sign stating they are closed to get new equipment. I will see when I visit next if they did get equipment soon. So far I have not used the weights, but my guest has and has enjoyed the experience. I just like having a place to go to get some physical activity outside the house for seemingly a reasonable price. read more

I come here right after 5, probably their busiest time, and I never have a problem finding the open machines I like. I absolutely hate when they do free kids for summer. I went today and all they did was hold up machines while sitting and talking on their phones. Me and another girl was waiting for the same machine and never got a chance to use it. I went to the front desk and complained. I joined this gym over 2 years ago. One of the best decisions of my life! This location is always clean and well maintained. The equipment is current and in good working order. I've visited at all times of the day and night, and always a positive experience. People are friendly, and the staff always welcomes you with a smile and hello. He never fails to call us when Rob isn't going to be in so we can decide whether to come in or not. Another benefit is having a variety of fitness classes. Rob take his role very seriously as the trainer. The classes provide variety and degrees of difficulty. Rob changes up the routine regularly so it never gets boring. Been going here for a couple years. Facilities overall are decent, but very hit-or-miss with their staff, usually miss. The continuing sub-par hygiene in their men's locker room, especially their restrooms, along with their inability to maintain their posted hours of operation, is a good indicator that they are poorly managed. This was confirmed today with my interaction with Nick, who claimed to be their GM. He berated me for holding onto my sweatshirt while on the treadmill, saying it had to be in the locker, not on the equipment. I told him I was holding onto with my hand. He then said "If you backtalk me, you'll be kicked out". Needless to say, I had an issue with his word choice and tone, and when I called him on his rudeness, he told me he was canceling my membership. Extremely poor to non-existant customer service. Post-Review Comment: Many things I didn't mention, not worth my time, but since someone from PF replied... I had mentioned the poor upkeep of their locker room, especially their toilets, to their management on 4-5 different occasions, and many more times to their various staff. No change, no impact over several, several months. Hence the poorly managed comment. User beware. read more

Horrible experience here. After reading other reviews, it's clear the staff is poorly trained. Have been going for about a year and asked an employee named Brandon to remove gum from a stair master machine. After two weeks of it still there I asked an assistant manager named Benjamin to remove the gum. Rather than removing the gum he said "I can cancel your membership any time." I said OK then cancel it. I asked to speak with his boss because I did not appreciate the way he was treating me. He proceeded to reach over the desk to forge my signature on the cancelation request. He also said there would be no fee and I had a $40 fee in my bank account. Wild experience, do yourself a favor and go to literally any other gym. I have been an avid gym goer for the last 15 years and have never experienced Anything like this. One employee there is solid. Wish I new his name... he has glasses and tattoos. Lesson learned: take aggressive control of your cancellation request, because if you don't, they will take aggressive control to keep the cash they withdrew from your bank account. Background: Spoke to manager, because they failed to cancel 3 household memberships during COVID closure (and kept charging us for months without even a notice that their gym was re-opened or that they'd resume charging), yet the Manager (Caleb) was no help to refund nor compromise. Even when asking to speak to the District Manager, Caleb would simply not offer even that courtesy. read more

This is a great place, especially for an old man like me. The place is clean, they brought in all new machines 6 months ago or so, and the staff is great. I can't understand how anybody could say anything negative about it. Heck, it's only $10/month! Whatever you're doing, keep doing it. You'll always get complainers; that's just how some people are. Planet Fitness - Gyms Near Me - Commerce Township, Michigan

This place was the only gym in town until Powerhouse opened down the road. I am a member of both for the moment, as I'm not sure where I want to stay. PF is $15 cheaper a month but don't have the toys that Powerhouse does. Also I really hate the lunk alarm but can't stand the d- bags that say bro every other word and throw their water bottles around so kinda caught in the middle. I also disagree with the whole pizza thing. Defeats the purpose of being at the gym, as does bagel Monday. Then again it makes you have to come right back so maybe it's smart business? The place is pretty clean, except for the leaky roof when it rains. Then you'll find buckets on the floor. It's also bigger than some of the older PFs but it can still be difficult to get the machine you want. Plenty of cardio machines which is great, stretching and ab rooms, as well as tanning and massage beds. All in all a good gym that services an elder crowd a bit better than most 20- 30 somethings. read more

Terrible gym...horrible customer service. They do not care about their guests. Charged me and continued to charge me (refusing to waive any fees) after not having stepped foot into this gym for over a year and a half. I cancelled my membership months ago but apparently they had only frozen the account, only for it to unfreeze and charge me again. They told me they couldn't waive any fees even tho I haven't been there. I will be contacting my bank to do a chargeback and would NOT recommend this gym to anyone! I had never developed the habit of exercising. I hate to sweat. At 67, this is now a problem. High blood pressure, cholesterol and arthritis have crept into my life. So... I have created a pact with my best friend to participate in exercise classes 3 days a week. Our instructor Nate has changed my life! Now I look forward to my Monday, Wednesday, Friday routines. Their facilities are clean, intuitive and inviting. Hydro massage and tanning will probably always make me smile the most... but our trainer's expertise, flexability, professionalism and direction keep me coming back. It's a really nice gym and pretty clean and well run. However, there's a certain staff member that always has the worst attitude regardless. She becomes short when you ask her questions (especially when your new so try not to bother her). And if she decides to explain it to you like the tanning levels she'll tell you all wrong. I've had several other staff completely contradict what she's said. She makes you feel judged and don't bring a guest or else she'll follow you around the gym and tell you what you can or can't do. Really try to not judge people based on one experience but the level of just plain customer service is poor. I've switched gyms and am paying more just to not deal w that type of attitude on the daily. read more

When I tried to Cancel the automatic payment every month, they told me my son had to go in person. So he did. They showed him on the computer that he had canceled. Then they still charge me $10 the next month. The man asked me if I had documentation that he canceled. I said no he didn't keep documentation from canceling a month ago. He would not credit me the $10 Charged after my son canceled. I said seriously you want to get a bad yelp rating for $10. He didn't seem to care. This is a very good PF location. Although I live a minute away from the Novi PF, I drive to this one because it is bigger and less packed, and has more machines. I feel uncomfortable in the Novi location if I go during peak hours because it gets way too busy for such a small gym, but I don't have that feeling here. I fully understand the importance of a great review OR NOT when it comes to business. I have excelled at working with customers and worn many hats within the SERVICE industry. "Wowing" your customer is EVERYTHING if you want to be here tomorrow! Don't kid yourself - Planet Fitness is a service industry and exists BECAUSE of its customers. They are one of the very few (in fact - I cannot even think of another company) who will not allow an exception when it comes to their fees. I heard the words "unfortunately" and "if we made an exception" from at least 2 employees. Mind you - I had to be the one to follow up with them as a promised phone call back never came. A family member of mine had not used their 90-day old membership in over 2 months and I intended to cancel this membership in May but forgot. The yearly renewal was already due on June 1 to take him through June 2017. When I called to request an exception to this on June 3 because I was permanently cancelling the membership, I was told NO by 3 people (even as I made my way up their management ladder). WOW is all I can say. So this week I am not only cancelling 1 membership with them, I am cancelling 2. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful. A variety of cardio machines and plenty of free weights and weight machines. Always clean; in fact I've never been there when staff wasn't dusting or cleaning the floor. Locker rooms are very clean as well. Love, love, love the place. If there's a downside it's there's not a good spot to stretch. They do have mats but floor space is hard to find. Would high recommend them and this particular facility. Thx!! read more
