Five stars for the staff. Four and a half stars for cleanliness and stocked up stuff. Three stars for the size and amount of equipment. I am glad they put new stuff in recently but with the amount of traffic it really needs to be expanded in size. It's by far the smallest PF around. I do miss the extended hours. I cannot go before work since they don't open til 5 and I wish they stayed opened later like they used to. With the prices of membership going up since the pandemic it's wild to me because they cut hours and got rid of the pizza, bagels and tootsie rolls! read more

The change of equipment that happened June of 2025 was terrible...the old equipment was made by Life Fitness and it was still perfectly usable and in tact...all that equipment was swapped out for new equipment made by a company I've never heard of and the quality of it is laughable, uncomfortable to use and built poorly... I'm sure the owner got it for a great price though . read more

I'm not a fan of the equipment jammed in in the front of the gym. The gym is too small for the amount of equipment which I'm also not a fan of some of the equipment, seats should be adjustable and or offer wedges, not everyone is the same size. And since it is small with limited machines, gym etiquette should be followed, when a member is waiting for a machine, the person currently on the machine should not sit there texting for several minutes between sets. And, when it happens and I ask if I can jump in, they usually either get off which is not what I asked or ask the person how many more sets they have left, ignore me. I can't wait for the New Bedford location to open, it appears to be a good size. The Fairhaven location is just too small, with limited equipment. read more

I've been working out at this planet fitness for a little over a month. The condition of the club is fine. Its clean enough. Pretty typical of planet fitness. But there are operational annoyances. When you call the phone number listed for the club it has a nonsensical automated answering system. So you cannot get information or speak to a human Recently, they bought all new cardio equipment and they had to close the club for a couple of days to assemble it. That was fine. But there wasn't much notice. Then after those two days, the club is closed due to a " power outage" . It's been closed for a couple of days now. But you can't call to find out if it's open because the outgoing phone number doesn't work. It just seems like it's not managed read more

The staff is not very friendly. They really feel like you're putting them out if you ask them a question or for help.

I am so unhappy with this place. So many times all you can hear and feel in your chest is the loud vibration of dreadful drum beat music that is horrible to listen to while the 6 video screens overhead are shouting for your attention. . The "help" behind the desk let's you know they really don't care if you never come back again. As I was told, "That is my right." Their customer service is non-existent. The elite black card means absolutely nothing. My husband and I are both seniors who take our health seriously. We enjoy keeping in shape and exercising. Just definitely not at a place that does not care about its members . What is very interesting is that Planet Fitness answered my review without giving a way to contact them. You see ,It was the manager of the Fairhaven location named SAM that did not apologize and felt it was fine to lose a customer. I do not believe this answer is a real answer at all. My issue with this place and the reason for the 3 stars is due to what I consider a big deal. The lack of cleaning that I see from the people working out and the lack of enforcing cleanliness. Personally I clean all equipment before I use it and act it because I've had family get a parasite that their doctors all contributed to the gym so I take cleanliness serious. I see people using machines and not cleaning and never see a staff member say anything. They spend more time talking and looking at their phones than keeping an eye on people. If it wasn't for this I would rate them 4 stars. Step your game up with the cleaning please. I don't think it's to much to ask. read more

I enjoy this gym allot and that's saying something because I HATE most gyms. The place is always clean and if a machine is broken, they have someone fix it in a reasonable amount of time. I will say that they appear to be understaffed and while most of the staff members seem to be very intelligent, there was one point where the shower chair to the accessibility shower was broken and I bugged them every day for 2 or 3 weeks about it until I finally told them to just give me a screwdriver and I'll fix it myself. It was fixed by the following day. The staff is always very friendly and willing to help if you have any questions. I just wish that there was more than one trainer on staff! read more

The whole Planet Fitness corporation is terrible. I tried to cancel my account with them in August (It is now October). They told me it was all set and I should stop getting bills. I noticed about a month ago that they were still taking money out of my account each month ($10), and they just took $40 out of my account again. I called last week and they told me to call back Monday when a manager would be in and I should be able to get the $40 back. I just got off the phone and the woman told me there was no note on my account, and I had to come in by the 10th or send a certified letter by then after paying a $25 fee... It is currently the 5th and I am at school in Mississippi so there is physically no way for me to do that. They were completely unhelpful​ and said my parents couldn't come in and cancel my account even though their names are on the account as well. When I tried to file a complaint on their website, it wouldn't​ even let me do that and there seems to be no one I can reach about this issue. This company is completely uncooperative and they are essentially scamming their members with random fees and an inability to cancel their accounts. I very highly recommend​ going to a different gym because​​e this one is terrible. read more

I signed up for a black card membership at planet fitness in Fairhaven two days ago. I told the employee Jathan that I was signing up primarily to use the hydro-massage bed with everything else as a plus. He let me try one of them (there are two hydro-beds) before signing up. It was super relaxing. Today I went back and used the other bed. The smell nauseated me. It was pungent, like muck and sweat, so I went out and said quietly "I'm sorry I hope none of you were the last to use the bed but it smells really bad can I use the other one? Then an employee (Orlando) laughed and said "it's because the water is over a year old, its supposed to get changed every 6 months but it's on back-order. A lot of other people have complained about that too. It's not dirty, the smell is coming from the vents." So I asked to cancel my membership and get a refund of the prorate ($20) I paid and the manager (Isaac) declined to refund me because it wasn't within the first 24 hours after signing up. I brought up that it's kinda false advertising, and I wouldn't have signed up knowing the water was old enough to leave a lingering stench. They shrugged and said "well, it works." But is it safe? $20 isn't a huge deal but at the end of the day it's the principle of it. It's a health hazard. One of the beds (the one I tried before I signed up) smells perfectly fine but the other one should be marked Out of Order especially if others have the same concern. They suggested I use the gym in South Dartmouth but as a Fairhaven resident that's really out of the way and not worth it. I was trying to be practical about a solution but they just kept repeating the company's policy and over-explaining why it is the way it is. I told them I don't care, then Orlando sarcastically wished me luck on my fitness journey to which I reminded them once again that I only signed up to use the hydro-bed. Gym is very clean and all the staff are friendly and professional. All the equipment is new and kept clean. I go almost every day.

Forcing me to go inside in person to close my account with them instead of over the phone and charged my account $30 for who knows what. Never will i ever go with planet fitness again read more

Nice clean gym. I like that they offer tanning, total body enhancement, hydromassage and massage chairs. The staff seems to be getting better as time goes on. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they're only open until 9 on Fridays and until 7 on the weekends. read more

Stopped going to this location. Started going near my work. Way to many guys loading on the cologne and girls with perfume. Just take a shower after, no need to use a whole bottle to go work out. Kills my allergies. Also watch lots of people not wipe down equipment and no one ever says anything about it. I know someone who got a staff infection from a gym (not this one) from lack of cleaning. Gross. In one day and some of the equipment couldn't be used because the ceiling tiles were falling in from water damage. I like other locations and have no issues there. They still need more staff every time I go I usually only see one person other that the trainer who does classes. Kinda feel bad for them, no one can do it alone :( read more

Today I was in line at GameStop for Black Friday shopping. Behind me was a few others, everyone was wearing masks and socially distancing, when one of your employees came out and rudely asked everyone to back away from PF. It was 6am. GameStop opened at 7am. He rudely came out and said once again when everyone kindly responded, " we are not blocking anyone from coming in. There's no one waiting to get into the gym." The employees was asked for his name and title and he refused and got on his phone, standing near the window trying to intimidate the crowd, who was quiet and just standing in line. The employees gets off the phone and says " I apologize you guys can do whatever you want except don't ask to use the bathroom. I won't allow that!!!!" 15 mins later he comes out to smoke his cigarette right outside the facility. Which THAT im sure he should not be doing. I will never recommend this location. I dont know if he was upset that he wanted to go Black Friday shopping and was working instead!!!! Very very very rude and unprofessional!!! I hope that gets addressed. read more

No group training as stated when u join. They have no trainer, she quite. No orientation, no evaluation.nothing. the girl behind the desk never smiles she is rude doesn't know the answers to anything. There is supposed to be unlimited group training classes that's the membership I am paying for with half the benefits.. most of the staff there can't even show you or won't show you how to use the equipment. During peak hours too packed to get a good workout. Canceled membership and they charged my account for the full month after I canceled then refused any refund. Counter attendant told me it was "too bad" and that someone should have told me I would be charged. read more
