Love me a planet fitness when I travel but this one was very unique. It was very small and didn't seem to have a flow of machines. Like it felt very jumbled. The bathrooms were okay but I don't like it when they don't have a room for you to change . I had casual cloths with me and had to place on the floor after shower. if you want a workout from hell this is the place to be for starters if your lucky enough to get a locker available there that small you can't fit your gym bag inside without forcefully squashing it in and destroying the layout in your bag then you walk in to the gym and you are literally squeezing pass everyone just way to crowded for a small gym you can't use any of the machinery without waiting at least 20 minutes unless you get lucky and then once you've completed your workout you have there is only 4 to 5 showers don't actually no the exact number but your most likely gonna have to wait in line for that and to top it off the showers have no proper shower heads apart from the disability, shower and most of the staff here has horrible attitudes and no kind regards for others except 2 young indian boy and girl which is actually really nice and polite I have travelled all over the us and have been to multiple locations and from my personal experience this had definitely got to be the worst I think this place needs new management as soon as possible! read more

They just mopped the men's locker room floor with water that is so dark ( black) and stinky that you can't breath in the restroom. Gross

I have a major problem with this gym, every time I go there I go into the men's locker room. So the way it's set up is there are the lockers on one side and then the other side has the bathrooms and showers in the same room. I am absolutely flabbergasted to say that they have a woman come in there frequently to clean, while men are in there!!!! this is incredibly unsafe for the woman, I have personally seen her cleaning the floors next to the shower and a guy walks out undressed. How can they not see the problem with this? not to mention it's incredibly uncomfortable for me when I'm in there and a woman just brushes past me with a broom! You have a lot to answer for planet fitness, you preach that your gym is a "safe space" well in the heck is this safe for that woman and us guys? You better make changes soon for the sake of that woman, she could easily be abused while in there since at times there are only a few men in there. Have a MAN clean the MEN's room and a WOMAN clean the WOMEN's room, it is NOT THAT HARD!!!! I like this gym for the low monthly payments, but lately there have been an influx of inconsiderate members who think this is their private gym. The inconsiderate ones place their phone on one cable machine while using another machine, therefore, monopolizing two machines. Doing this especially at peak times is frustrating for those of us who realize everyone needs a turn. The other problem are those members who insist on walking away from the cable machine 5 minutes at a time to socialize while the rest of us have to second guess if they are done on that machine. It would be nice to have the PF employees eyeball the floor once in awhile and check out these situations. read more

The layout of this planet fitness makes it so you're working out on top of each other. The "warm up" space is a 2x2 section with some dumbbells so people workout over there too, even less space. 4 smith machines that dudes hop on for 30+ minutes. Not their fault there's like 4 machines total and they wanna do their workout, but it sure as heck is frustrating. Every time I walk in I feel like I've just walked into a war zone ready to fight for some 30 pounders from the old guy with a weight belt on. It's weird. Staff are nice. Planet fitness should've bought a space bigger than a closet, that's the real issue. If you want to run on the treadmill then this is a fine place. If you're looking to use weight in your workouts you're better off finding a cement block in the woods and using that instead of fighting for a dumbbell. read more

Love this Gym! I was a member at the Retro Fitness facility in Flemington paying much more in price per month than what Planet Fitness was charging. I ditched Retro, joined and never looked back! For $10 a month, the gym is great! They just got in all new equipment, which there wasn't anything wrong with the previous ones. They have plenty of large screen TV's and lots of exercise machines. I never have to wait to get my cardio in. I love that my fellow gym rats are very good at cleaning the equipment after using, also at re-racking the weights as required. The staff themselves are so courteous and pleasant. Always a great smile and hello when you walk through that front door. The place is very clean, women's locker room is spacious and has plenty of lockers and private dressing rooms. A true bargain and enjoyable place to do my workouts in! read more

I was not treated like a customer after dicovering they resumed billing after I thought I had cancelled in Sept, after I called they stopped billing, then charges appeared on my credit card. I explained in person, but the manager said she would not refund, I explained that I would join again after we stop wiith the masks, It didnt matter to her. She even had the nerve to charge the annual $42 renewall that just hit my card, even tho I once again caneceled while there in person talking to het. The worst part is they made me come down in person even thos I explained I am taking care of my 93 year old mother and I am 62,,, makes me wonder if they care about our safety. I know someone who thinks they may have got covid there, afte being forced to go in person it makes me wonder. The bad part is , I have not been there on over 15 months, they are ripp offs, I will go to Retro Fitness I hear great things about that chain. i'm briefly back in the area and didn't want to commit to a private gym like i have been using for the past few years. this location is huge and they keep it clean. i am a late night gym user and i see the same woman cleaning crew come in around 11pm every night. i've come during dinner time before and it was very busy but they have so many machines to offer you don't have to wait too long if at all to work out. i'll say why i'm doing 4 and not 5 stars is honestly due to an employee. a younger male checked me in at the desk one time and as i was using machines i noticed he was changing the garbages and sanitizers near me, and kept watching me. which in general makes me uncomfortable because it's the gym. a cute old woman could watch me and i wouldn't be happy about it. but this kid does a lap and keeps cleaning then actually came up to me, mid reps and kept trying to talk to me.. while i'm wearing over the ear head phones that in general are a tall tale 'leave me alone'. so he stops me from working out to comment on my appearance, not once. but twice. a few days later he saw me again, i guess he was there working out and he again came up and bothered me while i was working out. unprofessional and creepy. read more

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars, but had to go with 3 and I will let ya know why. This gym is great, it has everything you could need. I went as a guest with my mother-in-law and was impressed with how many machines they had [couldn't believe it]. I am a member of Retro fitness, but considered leaving because its 10$/month cheaper! However, I couldn't muster up the guts to leave that place because I know I would regret it. Its a good things they have so many machines because holy moly is that place PACKED! They need ALL the machines they could get! I visited on a monday late morning/afternoon and it was swamped.. thats when everyone is suppose to be at work/school.. can't imagine what happens at 4pm. I also noticed it was pretty stinky when I walked in. There was dust all over the machines - they don't keep it looking too hot in there. Especially for the amount of bodies going in and out - thats something that matters to me! Last turn off but certainly one of the biggest was that I walked in to a HUGE bowl of tootsie rolls sitting on the counter.. now, don't get me wrong, but isn't the whole point of going to the gym to burn fat - not put it on?! Um and I heard they do pizza fridays and bagel tuesdays. wtf.? Not sure the sort of tactic this whole "judge free zone" thing is, but thats not catering to the one who cares about being in shape! I'm going to continue paying the extra $10/month across the street at Retro.. well worth it! ok.. now after reviewing it is deff only 3 stars! read more

Great clean gym with very helpful staff! All the equipment is brand new which is a plus! I never have to wait for a treadmill or any of the other equipment because this facility is fairly large. All of the treadmill/elliptical equipment have new tv monitors, while there other large flat screen TVs around the workout areas. They have two different circuit areas as well - 12 min abs and 30 min cardio. Overall I would definitely recommend this location! read more

CROOKS, they are eager to take your money out of your account but can't give you the decency to know they are open or answer the phone. All other gyms were considerate about your comfort of coming back and when you would like to start. This is the loser Planet Fitness of all the others around. It's dirty, smelly, packed full of meatheads, and not as up to date as the rest. Clinton PF is great (and is my go-to gym), Easton PF is great - even Hillsborough and Somerset are nicer than this one. I live in Hampton, work in Flemington, and would rather drive all the way to Easton after work than go to the Flemington PF. Does that tell ya something? read more

after freezing my account, they stared hitting my credit card with call kinds of charges without my authorization. after speaking to my attourney he said it is not legal and finds it interesting that they justify charging your card via email notification (that I never received) w/o acknoweledgement, but at the same time they would not let me cancel my memebership via email they required that I come down in person. Even after explpaining I am elderly and do not want to expose myself, it didn't matter to Donna the manager, her rules too bad. Not worrried about my health. I see multiple complaints on this same practice, so while this is ony 100 bucks I will file a claim with consumer fraud protection court of somerset county for the common good. I have been a paying customer for 6 years and planned to rejoin after covid, didnt matter.... real kick in the teeth as a loyal customer. read more

Just joined its very convenient close by to home short drive . I got the black card membership so I can use other locations. I got a tour of this place when I picked up my tee shirt and free bag. Everything is clean. I didn't see any dirt. There are spray bottles and paper towels st each section to clean equipment before you use. There's locker room. Showers. Hairdryers too to use. All comforts of home. You are greeted with a smile by a friendly girl. I'm very impressed and glad I joined. Go see for yourself. Plenty of everything. Treadmills. Elliptical. Rowers. There's about 5 active TVs in the wall you can plug your ear pods into whatever machine you are upstanding listen. There's a free personal trainer as well to get you set up on a routine. read more

I joined this gym briefly as I was in Flemington for Thanksgiving and it's close to where my parents live (over the course of 5 days, I visited 4 times, so this review isn't based off of a one-time experience). Overall, I like that this gym is very spacious, clean, and there are many machines available in working condition (some of the worn treadmills do shake quite a bit when you get the speed up on them though). The employees are also very friendly. I do have a couple of gripes though. First major complaint I have is that they don't give out towels, nor do they have cleaning wipes - they do have sprays with paper towels to wipe down the machines for before and after each use, but I feel the wipes are much more effective. Towels are pretty standard from my gym-going experience but for $10/mon, I guess I can't complain - just remember to bring your own towels if you need (or you can purchase towels from the front desk for $6, if I remember correctly). Two more minor things that had me scratching my head: I don't know why candy is offered...I also saw a sign that said something about pizza Mondays...smh, I don't understand...and lastly, I don't get the lunk alarm...I suppose it's a cute idea but I thought this was a judgement-free zone? If I happen to grunt or drop my weights too hard, why are you judging me by ringing an alarm for the entire gym to hear? So they can judge too? I understand this is a Planet Fitness-wide concept so I'm not going to fault this particular gym for it. Overall, good gym - spacious, clean, and many good machines in working condition. If I lived in the area, I would consider being a member. read more

This isn't my usual PF, but decided to go here today because it's closer to my house. At the other PF I've never been told I can't have my bag out on the gym floor so I wasn't aware that it was their policy, so I kept my bag with me. I walked away to grab a paper towel to wipe down the machine and when I came back my bag was gone, naturally I started to freak out. About a minute later someone (I'm assuming the manager) came over and told me I'm not allowed to have my bag on the floor and that's why she took it away. Who in their right mind does that?! So incredibly unprofessional, all she had to do was come up to me and let me know and not take my bag. I'll drive the 10 extra minutes to go to my usual gym. read more

This is a good basic work out gym for the price. It has relatively new fitness equipment and a decent locker room. The gym can get too warm at times particularly when crowded but I have had this issue at other gyms, too. Also, in my opinion the bowl of Tootsie rolls near the exit is a a friendly touch. I rarely take one, but sometimes I do. Still, IMO, I think it shows the owners are trying to give something back to the members. read more

The gym is well stocked and has plenty of cardio machines. My only complaint is that certain members of the staff are so incredibly rude that I genuinely hate interacting with them. I went in recently and gave my member number (which used to be the standard protocol when entering the gym) and I was told that they had switched to scan cards for members. That's totally fine, but the girl who I spoke with was condescending about it - saying "you must not come to the gym often because this had been our system for over a week now". I was given a new card and I was told by the girl "just use this from now on, got it? Don't ever say your number ever again. Forget it. Throw it away. Okay?". She was so strangely rude. On top of this, I have witnessed two of the boys working behind the counter talking about female gym members and arguing over which one of them would "have a better shot with her." All of this is so unprofessional and awkward. I will say, however, that the woman who manages the gym during the day and the young girl with curly brown hair who works there are kind - they are the only reason my review isn't 1 star. read more

The gym itself isn't bad physically, the staff is a tiny bit rude they don't seem happy to be there in my opinion and I don't understand what's with the bagel and pizza thing? No I don't want a bagel or a slice of pizza after my workout thanks! Put some fruit out or something, no?! The gyms always crowded and usually humid too which sucks but not much you can do about that considering it's busy Flemington. The water fountain water made me SICK. Literally too. Felt super ill after drinking it and I'm not the only person who said that. The water is disgusting! I always bring 2 water bottles with me to make sure I don't have to drink outta that. I give it a 3 bc its a gym it gets the job done and is the closest to my school but if there was a golds gym closer to my school I would definitely choose that over PF. The Golds gym in Phillipsburg is much more pleasing, couple more dollars for golds membership but it's a much nicer staff and facility. read more

I wish I could give 0 or negative stars. I've had a membership for several years, and quite honestly, I have only been a few times. So this is not about the physical gym itself, but more a bout their policy. Of course, payment is by credit card. my payment was $10.70/month. I noticed on my credit card statement that I was charged $20.70, so I called and asked what the card was. They couldn't answer me and so I had Visa challenge the charge, and the charge was removed from my statement. When doing my taxes, I noticed another $20.70 charge. I called and asked about that. This time I got an answer, which was that the card on file was denying payment, so there was an additional $10 charge . I had gotten a new card because I lost one. I don't recall Planet Fitness EVER contacting me to tell me that my card was denied. Their billing system should automatically send an email to the account holder to notify them that there is a problem with their card. So this is a money making routine, as far as I am concerned. And you can't cancel unless you go in person or deliver certified mail. Am I going to cancel? Sure am! I am never allowing anyone to have access to my credit again. not my home location but i wish it was -- super clean and updated, bright and inviting. my only complaints would be the temperature and televisions. it was always extremely warm in there which made me think it was done on purpose. the tv's on the machines wouldn't work 50% of the time and the satellite seemed to be wonky. however, beggars can't be choosers because my home location didn't even have personal tv's. My credit card was reissued due to the new chip, and just like someone else on this review thread, Planet Fitness NEVER contacted me, they just kept charging me with a $10 surcharge. I called and spoke to the owner Donna and she refused to remove the surcharge so I will cancel my membership and look into this being a class action lawsuit since this seems to be a trending problem. read more
