Although, I really like the Fort Mill facility, I take exception to their Summertime policy of letting teenagers use the facility free of charge. Although, this policy is a great benefit to teenagers, it makes the availability of devices and equipment much more difficult to use for us paying members. The teens often train in groups and tie up equipment for long periods of time. If the company wants to offer free use to teenagers, they should only offer designated times for their use. read more

Great gym, no frills, have all of the workout equipment you could need and plenty of space to do your own thing even when it's busy. It's not the "nicest" PF I've been to, as you can tell the building was previously a grocery store or something similar that was flipped. But overall it feels clean and the staff is very friendly. Removing stars as the big downside is this location does NOT have the "Total Body Enhancement" machine in the Black Card Area, which is disappointing as that's a huge draw for PF Members, especially those who don't use the tanning beds and prefer the benefits of red light therapy. I find myself often driving further to the other PF locations that have the TBE, and hope this gym adds it soon! read more

So my wife and I travel around America, Alaskan Canada and our van with our cat and we are so fortunate to have a membership at Planet Fitness of the 50 Planet Fitness as we've been to I would have to say this location has the friendliest staff coming in the energy from From walking through the door to when we left, it really seems like they enjoy their job. It's not the amount of people that is the issue, maybe it's the layout of the location? The free weights are in the middle of a walk way...very inconvenient and awkward if you cant snag a bench. Customer service is not helpful at all...tried to buy a tshirt at this location and was just disappointed with the rate of the transaction completely. To spite what someone might have said about the staff being lazy or unfriendly, that is quite wrong. I think the staff they have now is very friendly and I feel like MOST of the workers are like true friends to me. I feel that Larry is the greatest trainer that they had ever had because not only does he see the good in everybody but he enjoys what he does and he is cautious that nobody he trains will get injuries if they listen to him and I used to enjoy working out by myself-but I enjoy working out with him even better. I feel also that Abbey & Dylan need recognition for the wonderful job they do. To also spite rumors about Dylan being lazy, I don't see that in him at all. In fact, I would say he is more of a hard worker. Him & Abbey did an amazing job Friday when I went to workout at the gym, they both had almost everything done with time to kill. All they had left was to check around before they closed. As far as recommending anyone as the new assistant manager, Planet Fitness had already decided on who it is. Overall, this is a very fine fitness center. Pro's are location (if you are in the Fort Mill or Rock Hill area), professionalism of staff, courtesy and cleanliness. This facility has at least one person dedicated to equipment and facility cleaning throughout the day. It's not very crowded and machines are readily accessible. Among the con's, the one item that stands out is some of the exercise equipment appears dated. The elliptical machines are in dire need of updating - when compared to other PF locations. But these still get the job done. Overall, a very good facility. I plan to visit again on my next visit to the area. read more

Planet FRAUD!!! I cancelled my membership in person and in writing. TWICE. My account continues to be charged 10 MONTHS LATER! I called and spoke to Manager Sarah who is new and doesn't know what to do. She gave me the 3rd party billing number 844-973-4357 and spoke to Glen badge number 1014292. He said Plant FRAUD does this to everyone and it's up to the franchise to give refunds. You heard it here.. I transferred to this gym after moving from Pineville. I LOVED the gym in Pineville. They have new equipment, nice monitors on the treadmills that simulate like you're running in a forest or the mountains...oh wait, this review is for the Fort Mill location. Sorry. Seriously. Please PF in Fort Mill get new equipment. I was so used to the treadmills at the one in Pineville, that it honestly took me a while to figure out how to turn the treadmill on at this location. Maybe that says more about me than the treadmill, but whatever. Other than that I thought the place was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. I still love you PF. This Facility is perfectly adequate. It isn't the best Planet Fitness I've ever visited but it's sufficient. They most likely have the machines you need, they keep it clean and employees are friendly. Not much more you can ask for. And for the price you really can't be too picky. read more

The facility is spectacular, the machines are always new and very clean and the staff is outstanding especially Elizabeth , Randy , Pam and the General Manager Jenny who just got promoted . Apparently you have to show up in person as the only way to cancel an account. I moved and the nearest location is an hour away. I continue to get charged and I didn't have enough money in my account so I was given a check returned fee of $29. I can't do anything about it. My girlfriend and I have been going to this gym for about 8 months now. We love this location and always get a kind greeting whenever we walk in. Whenever Sarah is working we always love to stop and have a conversation with her before starting our workout. I enjoy that the Planet Fitness membership is easy and being a black card member I like that I can visit any location, especially when I want to hit the gym while I'm out of town for whatever reason. The equipment selection is nice and I always am able to workout the way I want. Using the regular and hydro massage chairs after getting incredibly sore from a few gym days is always awesome as well. And best of all we're met with a smile and kind words on our way out the door. I recommend this Planet Fitness to anybody looking for a new gym to start at. read more

Great gym friendly staff but I am tired of watching the guy with the bad haircut staring blatantly at women whilst they work out, everyone knows he does it let please put a stop to it. Update - the manager has obviously asked me to come in, obviously this forces any female member who feels uncomfortable to do the same, forcing a potential silence around abuse instead of promoting a culture where women feel safe. My boyfriend and I have been coming to this gym for about 6-7 months, 3-4 times a a week. We're always welcomed with multiple "hello!" and "how and you been?" greetings. We've become friends with Sarah who works the front desk. The machines are constantly cleaned throughout the day in addition to each guest cleaning them when they finish an exercise. The towels and cleaning solution are restocked and the bathroom well maintained. Being a black card member I'm able to use the extra amenities such as the tanning beds, massage chairs, hydro massage chairs/bed and getting a discount on the drinks. Fantastic esstablishment. The manager greets you with a smile that is legit. The sign up is painless and pretty quick. The process is transparent--no hidden fees or drams with not understanding the words on the contract. It's kept extremely clean--everytime I good tO the restroom someone is tEnding to the rolls and spraying the basins. I've managed health centres alll my life so I know what I i am looking for and hoW it should be run. You can get the best money for your time and effort there. Today my membership was canceled because I reported a customer with a gun in his Fanny pack. The area Director called me at home and told me I should have reported it to him then he said I'm canceling your membership. I looked and he did. The Fort Mill location is a mess. Two people that work here are rude and very disrespectful! I have never had such a degrading experience at any planet fitness. No one wearing name tags. the person that seems to be in charge is the problem! I was lied to about the accabilty of the chairs repeatedly. I was bullied into thinking I can only have one massage. I was told repeatedly that I am only allowed to hi and bye to employees, wile being aggressive towards me . He took his shirt off and acted like he was going to hit me . Many years ago, I have a membership at Planet Fitness. So it just natural to go back since I remember they offers classes, open 24/7 on weekdays and pleasant customer service. I picked Fort Mill location because I'm hoping it won't be crowd at any given times. So far, working out m around from 8:30 to 10am was never crowd. Not a lot of people holding on to machines and being social at the same time. The gym to me is not a place to socialize. I want to get in, suffers and leave. So This location seem to have the crowd, I don't mind being around. Everybody mind their own business. You don't get bother by anyone. Front desk staffs are nice and accommodating. The place is clean, women's locker room was awesome. They provided hydro massage machine, tanning beds, classes and discount on drinks if you're blacked card members. And for $19.99 no contract monthly, you can go to any locations and bring a guest whenever you feel like is probably cool. read more

Horrible Customer service! Their staff is incredibly rude on the phone. Teach some phone etiquette people!! If there are people in the lobby, put the phone customer on hold, don't rudely tell me about it. Don't yell in my ear at people across the store and be so clearly irritated that I'm calling. Have been a member of this gym since they opened - however, I only use it when the weather outside is too cold, too rainy, or too hot. It's very clean, staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the machines are always in good condition. I do see people not wiping down weight equipment after using it, so I've gotten in the habit of wiping down all equipment both before and after I use it. Sometimes when I go it is very crowded but I've never had to wait on a machine - I've always found a spot. Saturdays and Sundays around 3 p.m. are THE BEST time to go - the place is nearly empty, which allows me to stay on the treadmill for 2 hours on rainy days if I want to! As others have said, it has limited hours on the weekends, but that's fine since I'm not one to feel the need to work out at midnight on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays! read more

This is a great gym if cardio is your primary concern. Tons of equipment for that. For strength training, not so much. If you like to train hard and quickly, not good at all. I've never seen so many people sit on their equipment while resting for 5 minutes between each set. For me each time I wanted to use something there was someone sitting there doing nothing. They have a "work in" policy which is fine, but it just wasn't an enjoyable experience for me. I understand why people like this place, but I won't be going back. read more
