Went to a different location and they were AMAZING. The GM misha and Cody( I think was their names. Remember she had general manager on her tag.) were super sweet and helpful. Not only did she take the time to walk my husband and I though the Commerce location but gave very good explanations of all the equipment and how to use them. The both of them checked on us and made it feel welcoming. I've been going to the Gainesville, Georgia, Planet Fitness for about two years now. I've seen many bad managers come and go. This new manager, Rob, has far surpassed those former managers. He is competent, enthusiastic and loves his job. On occasion when I've asked him how his day is going he replies ' fantastic''. He cares about this gym and its patrons. He is athletic and knows how to answer gym related questions and is happy to do so. His staff is friendly and polite. They greet their members with more than a grunt or no eye contact as some former employees did. The tone of any business is always set from the top. This Planet Fitness now has a smart, friendly and sincerely nice manager at the top. The gym is always kept clean throughout the day. Restrooms and lockers are clean and actually smell nice. If any machine has a problem, it's taken care of in a timely manner. This Gainesville, Georgia location is a large facility with ample machines and '' toys'', as well as parking. I usually go in the mornings and rarely have to wait for what I want to use. A few months ago they added some different machines and more of what they were already using. If you've never tried this location or it's been a long time since you did. You should give them another try. I think you'll be pleased. Good management makes all the difference! read more

Terri (regular worker, not management, been there for 3 months by her account, blonde, tan 45-50) loves to cuss out employees in front of customers and customers the managers leave the employees alone for hours on end without help from the manager Kiearra and leaves the overnight shift INTENTIONALLY with only one worker . The system is ancient so a lot of the check-ins don't even go through right away and when Terri doesn't clean the bathrooms (pictures provided) she gets a pat on the back by management that is okay with her screaming at fellow employees infront of customers like a child. I worked there for almost 4 weeks and still couldn't tell you how to do a professional walk through and they intentionally put 2 or less people on staff when the gym needs constant cleaning. Also if you ask for help from management Kierra (no notes on other people in management , honestly Robby, Twi and the other two managers that are under Kierra are as sweet and helpful as they can be no notes , but Kiearra is driving this ship into the ground by allowing Terri to act the way she does as well as not giving consistent rules like we weren't allowed to use sticky notes or contact her or management at some points but others we were it just felt messy like a guessing game , I really wish things worked out better but surely leaving an employee on red for two weeks for what's going on when they don't feel safe working with an employee like Terri who called me "f-ing rude" for trying to help check in two customers that she was giving attitude to and scaring off that Sincerly didn't do a thing wrong , lots of this behavior that was here was incredibly unprofessional and unorganized and I was never contacted by hr like I was told by Kiearra I was , also I was WARNED during the company meeting by other management that Terri had had instances in the past where she had racist tendencies and the customers she was trying to scare away were Hispanic , overall this process was completely unprofessional and rules change daily and the computers are ancient also to top everything off , although I am incredibly upset by Kierra's behavior in letting me go : the management above her also failed her greatly by her account and other managers that described a customer that wanted to hurt her due to racist comments and a lot had to do with the lake near this location and it was scary to say the least , and management above her did NOTHING , yall should be ashamed of yourselves, that was incredibly racist what he did and saying he wanted to hurt her and that all happened before I even worked there but on all accounts planet fitness needs to rebrand and reflect and as someone who but their 100% in the company as much as I could I am appalled at how unprofessional working there was. read more

LOCATION MANAGER EXTREMELY HOSTILE!I needed to cancel my membership and the location was torn down and moved without ANY warning. I called several times to find a dead phone line. When they finally had a working number available, I contacted the location to cancel my membership and asked why it wasn't made known to me that they had relocated. We were told that emails were sent out, however I did not receive one to inform me that they had moved. I had received emails in the past about upgrading to their Black card and then received an email after calling to get help. That Friday we were told we would be contacted by the regional manager, but come Tuesday still nothing. So, I had to contact them yet again on Tuesday morning about canceling the membership. What I interacted with on the phone was a very hostile and defensive manager with absolutely zero compassion. I am disabled and driving can be extremely difficult for me (disabilities that arose after signing up for the membership the year before) and the intensity that I was met with from the other end of the line was shocking. She did not care to provide any help with the issue. When she was told that I didn't receive an email about their locations changing, she immediately accused me of lying about it, saying I put the wrong email on the account, YET, as I stated above, I have been receiving emails from Planet Fitness. I even got an email asking me to review my customer service report on Friday, so clearly that is NOT the case. This was one of the absolute WORST customer/management interactions I have ever experienced before. Seemed rushed to get off of the phone and quick to act defensive and call me a liar. It was extremely unprofessional and I feel horrible for any employees that have to work under a manager that treats CUSTOMERS that way. But I guess because I am trying to cancel, we no longer deserve any respect? I guess that is what you get for wanting a cheap gym membership....!!! read more

Great gym. I usually go at either 10pm or 8am. The gym is always clean. The staff have been helpful if I had questions. They're pretty laid back. Ive only seen one machine broken without a sign. I usually don't have to wait for any machines. It's pretty spacious. The women's locker area is always clean. I also see them mopping and I saw someone dusting the equipment like two weeks ago. I can't complain. I was hesitant to sign up the first time because of the bad reviews. However they must've made changes after seeing those old bad reviews. Always pretty crowded. Hours recently changed so they're no longer open early in the morning some days.

It's not that bad for the price. Some of the equipment like the smith machine doesn't work which sucks because they only have three and with one not working your left with two and you basically need to be at the gym super early or wait for someone to finish using it. The locker room is outdated compared to the other plant fitnesses but hey they have one so it's still good. The massage chairs will give you ring worms if you don't wipe them down. The actual facility is nice however there are NO mask enforcements and even some of the workers don't wear theirs. The workers are rarely at the front desk and if you need them you have to walk around to find them or call. I would personally update the lockers, it's so hard to put actual locks on them that many people go without locking their lockers. read more

Train your staff on how to deal with problematic situations please. "Maybe planet fitness isn't the gym for you", should most definitely not be something that comes out of your employees mouth because of a complaint. Decent place but the employees dont know how to apply black member discounts this gym wanted to charge me 16.50 for tanning lotion I went to the better one in buford got the same thing for 7.50 not to mention alot of the equipment including tanning beds need maitnence some bulbs dont work needing changed and just needs work probably continue to go to buford well worth my money read more

I attend a boot camp each morning before work, near by Planet Fitness. I then go to Planet Fitness, take a few minutes for the tanning bed, and get ready for work. There is a you g woman at the front desk that makes my mornings harder than necessary. She feels she has some sort of power and has no concept that members of the gym are the reason for her position in the first place. This morning I was upset with her and asked for her name, Marisol, in a condescending tone she said, " of course " as if I had asked for her autograph. I am an HR Manager and hold employees to a high standard and know that customer service and customer satisfaction go a long way. read more

Planet fitness is clean, the staff is kind, and Antonio did an awesome job of explaining everything to me! I'm so glad I joined. I love the no judgment atmosphere. The only thing is I wish they were open a little later on Saturdays and Sundays, but no biggy! Definitely worth checking out if you're considering a gym! read more

I wish I could give this gym zero stars. It's honestly the worst planet fitness around. Rude staff that is definitely not helpful, something is seriously always broken and takes months to fix, any time you ask them about cancelling your membership you always get a different answer.. if they even actually cancel it for you. My mom was assured hers was cancelled, and they payment still came out the next month and they said it hasn't been cancelled. They typed in my bank account info wrong when I opened my membership and then tried to charge me a late fee. I just can't wait for my 2 months to be up so I can be done with this place and their ridiculous rules and staff. read more

This is the most pathetic gym to work at and job to have. Until yesterday I was an employee at this location. The manager may have experience running a gym, but does not have experience being a part of a team. The company promises to promote from within, then hires an outsider as assistant manager and completely over looks prime candidates who are available. And when an emergency happens on site, the club manager blames the staff, complains about having to come in, then proceeds to tell staff 'it can wait till Monday'. Two patrons keys were stolen as well as one of the patrons vehicles. And the video feed for the police can 'wait till Monday'. That is an exact quote used from when this event happened Friday, November 3rd. On top of this, when we called the General Manager, Regional Manager, as well as another club manager, our manager was the only one to answer the phone. What does that say about poor communication in the event of an emergency. Good riddance planet fitness. read more

Honestly if I could give it a lower review, I would. Staff was unfriendly and very unhelpful. They advertise "no annual fee" all over the place and then after 1 month I'm paying $39 for an annual fee?? How is it I'm paying for repairs more than I've spent for the gym membership?? That makes NO sense. Very rude staff and this company is more of a scam than phone contracts. Would not recommend, stay far away from!! read more

Love the gym and atmosphere with the exception of the Gainesville Ga location. My cardio consist of jump rope and and weight movements. Got in a back corner to not disturb anyone and started my routine when someone who work there told ther is no jump rope allowed. All other locations I've been to they had no problems with this. Planet Fitness in Gainesville opened earlier in 2013 or late 2012. Amazing gym. I love how laid back it is. There is no pressure and they just want you to have a better lifestyle. When you sign up they try to set you up with the instructor, Kate, who is excellent. She's very friendly, upbeat and wants you to meet YOUR goals, not theirs. There are classes 5 days a week at all hours so anyone interested can join. Kate is there to motivate! Planet Fitness has a 30 minute workout area as well for those who have a limited time to do some weight training/strengthening. The price for the basic member ship is $10 a month. For their more privileged membership it is only $20 a month. With the higher monthly fee you have unlimited tanning, massage chairs, hydro bed, a total body enhancement machine and access to any other Planet Fitness locations. They also offer 1/2 price cooler drinks. Everyone who works at the location is extremely nice and professional. You are always welcome to ask them all questions too! read more
