Had a horrible experience with the manager of the club recently when trying to work out. The way he treated my friend and me was completely unacceptable. When I reached out to corporate for assistance I was basically told to kick rocks, so I'm resorting to leaving this review to hopefully get some kind of assistance from this predatory company. The absolute worst business ever. My husband signed up. Some how his home gym is set to a gym in Florida he's never been to also we live in Tennessee. He has tried to cancel the membership but they insist he has to do that at his "home gym" again we live 10 hours from the gym they set as home. He has been to the one close to us with no help. We have been charged $80 since trying to get this cancelled. We are to the point of having to close our bank account because of it. NEVER SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!!! read more

Not too much to say except it's been a nice experience so far - no shortage of treadmills, front desk staff are generally helpful, and people here are respectful and actually wipe down the equipment and mats after using them. This Planet Fitness is quite a bit smaller than the ones I'm used to, but it's good enough. Luckily I go in late at night when it's not too busy... I can't imagine what it's like when it's packed. Equipment is well kept, it's fairly clean, staff are pretty cool with the exception of a couple, so yeah overall I'm really liking it. Giving them a 4 Star because a few of the staff members are really really cool (they actually say bye to me). But other than that it's a gym. A gym that's open 24 hours and has decent showers, tanning, water massage and not sure if this location have chair massages as well (haven't enter the corridors yet). I'm the stretch room there is a door that's labeled electrical. I don't know why but every time I see it I'm tempted to go in there. The 30 minute workout section is cool. Great for when you're pressed for time and wanna give yourself a quick whole body workout. Lots of TVs. Big rolls of paper towels that's good to do squats with or maybe curls. They're about 5lbs each of you grab an almost new roll. Free candy as well. General rule of thumb is to eat 1 candy for every minute you work out. It'll give you sugar for energy. Best part of all is everyone is welcome here. Just like the beach. I see every body type you can think of. And we co-exist here with a common goal... which is pretty cool. read more

I'm a black card member of the Elizabethton, TN Planet Fitness, which is what I'm comparing this location to. It's dimly lit, with old machines showing a lot of wear. They are packed in super close, making Covid distancing difficult. The bathroom was dirty, and as a black card member I can use the hydro massage and massage chairs. I tried the massage chair, Oy vey. So old I had to put tokens in to get it to work, then it made so much mechanical noise I expected it to break. The vinyl was all cracked, and the padding so worn it was actually causing me pain. I couldn't wait for the 10 minutes to be up. Walked around and peaked at the tanning beds, which I not use. Again old equipment, to the point of creepy looking. I was here for 2 hours, and while the 2 person staff was friendly I did not see any cleaning happening at all. The two of them never stopped leaning on the counter except to put 2 tokens for the massage chair on the counter for me. At the Elizabethton location, cleaning is constant- wiping, sweeping, mopping, swiffering, etc. They had a nice selection of t-shirts for sale. That's the only nice thing I can say. Good gym if you want to pay the $10 membership. If you want the black card membership, drive another 20 minutes to Elizabethton. read more

Corners of the building, legs of machines, anything not in plain sight is dirty (theyve been open a little over a year) shower curtans are stained at the bottoms, same toilet has been broken for the last 8 months, while showering you lose pressure and get cold when toilets flush. Employees see theyre phones more than your face. You can stand at the desk for almost a minute without being noticed. You can see the things you like by walking in, so i thought id post just the negatives of this particular branch. As this is the only gym in town me and my girlfriend thought we would check it out. We are just here for the summer so this place was a good deal since there is no length requirement for your memberships. Pros: 1. Only $10 a month 2. I've never really that packed (compared to California at least) even during rush hour 3. There's a 30 minute workout zone where they have a full body rotation workout 4. They have a strict no douche bag rule 5. Clean locker rooms 6. Plenty of cardio machines 7. There is an army of tv's playing every station they offer in this small town Cons: 1. Free weights only go up to 75 2. There are no decline benches or bicep curl podium's? Forgot what they're called. 3. Gym is kind of small and not that many machines 4. There's a stupid siren that goes off randomly (supposed to be when people drop weights or if someone is "judging" but I think that's bs) Literally this is the only decent gym besides ETSU in the area so I'll leave you all with this. Great gym to go to whether you're a meat head, a regular person, or an overweight whale trying to get that swim suit body. There's apparently no judgement allowed here or a siren will go off. There's not an excessive amount of mirrors. People work out efficiently and clean up after themselves. Everyone here is motivational and friendly. Not a bad environment to get your sweat on and it's affordable. It's $10 a month for just this gym and $20 a month for all planet fitness. With $20 you get a free guest pass every time, free use of tanning and massage beds and chairs. read more

I left early today because the tall tattooed gentleman was harassing me and my guest about wearing a mask while at the machine. He wasn't kind at all. We used to be members until my 55 year old wife was informed that she was not allowed to work out in sweat pants, only shorts were acceptable. She was so upset she didnt return for a month. When she went back she was told that her membership dues had not been paid and she was not allowed to use the equipment. I printed out the auto debit charges from 2 weeks prior, and took them to the gym to speak with the manager. He called my wife a liar, and said that she was not prevented from working out because of non payment, or that she had been told she couldnt wear sweat pants. As I spoke to him another member walked past with her breast exposed so far you could see her nipples, while a man with shorts split up so far that personal parts were exposed was flaunting it on the free weights. Evidently if your young and good looking that type of dress is ok but a bit of modesty is not. Seems like the "no judgement" policy of PF is a load of lip service to appease the woke crowd. I canceled both of our memberships and found another gym. I offered to meet the manager outside for a brief instruction into having his rear end kicked if he didnt apologize to my wife for calling her a liar. He promptly changed his attitude and apologized profusely. We will never go back to PF as it seems to be poorly managed with non compliance for their own policies. Our experience leads us to conclude its only for young, sexy singles willing to flash the flesh. Others need not apply!! read more

They huddle up at the front desk and play on phones all day- could save payroll and electronically check in guests. First off, I've never left a review and I'm 37. I moved to Johnson City, TN and always used PF. Johnson City Pf is a small dark and dirty facility with a very rude disconnected manager and territory manager. There's literally nothing good about it. I didn't realize but many told me this later. i walked in for my second visit and told them I had a Bristol VA membership and ask if I could use the facility for the day to make sure this is where I want to be. She told me it would be five dollars. I do not mind pay five dollars but I thought as a courtesy they would let me check out the facility first. I politely explain the situation again and she shouted out at me, That she was not arguing with me and I had the cheapest membership anyway. I told her that was OK there was plenty of other gyms in the area. She told me her district manager was standing right behind her and he waved by me as I walked out the door. It was so strange it was almost like a personal attack. Maybe they were angry because I told a staff member last time I was there that the bathrooms smelled really really bad. Anyway I went to lifestyles just a few doors down and they let me try it out for free and I ended up paying double for better quality service. This morning my son and I went to the Johnson City Planet Fitness facility. My family and I we have been on vacation for a few days and one of the things my son and I always like to do is have a good workout to start our day right. We located Johnson City Planet Fitness they told us we could use his black card membership due to the fact that I had a basic membership. So all that I had to do was fill out your basic form and I was Off to the Races to work out. Although this facility is a little bit smaller than the one my son and I work out in in Mentor Ohio. It was quite clean the staff was friendly and very helpful and there was plenty of room in the locker room to store our gear. And the equipment there was in Tip-Top shape. So if you do have a Planet Fitness membership and also need a place to work out while you're on vacation or on business I would highly recommend this Planet Fitness in Johnson City Tennessee. read more

I called to cancel my service with them. I was told I would have to come in to do that in person. So I did just that. Went in to cancel my service. My account has been drafted twice since I have canceled. So I called the establishment in reference to this. The manager proceeds to tell me they don't have anything stating or showing where I came in to cancel. That I would have to come in and cancel.
