As a result, I am now being billed for two memberships, and the only solution offered has been for me to spend even more money. What is most concerning is that the manager's notes regarding my situation were inaccurate and did not reflect what actually occurred. During my conversations with staff, it was acknowledged that there have been ongoing concerns and complaints regarding this manager's practices, and it appears my experience is not an isolated incident. While the organization recognized that mistakes were made, they have been unwilling to take meaningful steps to correct them. I understand that errors happen, but accountability and customer service should follow. Unfortunately, I have been left paying for a problem that was created by misinformation and poor management. I hope the company takes a closer look at these issues and works to improve how customers are treated when legitimate concerns are raised.

I have been a member there since they opened and I have never made a better decision in my life for my overall health. I feel like there are 3 major facets that create a perfect environment at Burn. 1. The trainers are all Certified Personal Trainers and they are extremely knowledgeable. They get to know every single person there and work with you to meet your individual goals. I have already met and surpassed so many goals-- in strength, endurance, body composition, and weight loss. I have also personally worked through injuries, utilizing the expertise of the trainers to modify exercises to ensure that I was still getting challenging and effective workouts while keeping my body safe. Also, the trainers model every exercise and then give everyone options to modify up or down, based on levels of strength and fitness. This helps everyone to progress, no matter what the starting point. They also offer unlimited 1:1 focus meetings, which helps them to get to know you better, and allows you to get the help from an expert to make a plan that is specifically tailored to meet your own individual goals. 2. Every single workout is different every single day. This is something that is so important to me because I definitely lose interest in any program when I start to become bored. The weekly lineup of workouts changes every week and every workout is unique. I've been there 9 months and never had a duplicate workout, other than designed challenges to measure progress. I actually look forward to seeing what we're doing in the gym every day, which is a nice change of pace for me. 3. The community is the most supportive group of people of which I've ever been a part. Everyone there is goal-oriented, positive, and welcoming. We all celebrate each other's successes and offer encouragement when needed. I've met so many awesome people at Burn and have nothing but the best things to say about the whole community there. Take that first step. Walk through the doors and see what the Burn difference is all about! Any age, any body type, any fitness level... everyone can make progress, get stronger, become more confident, and crush fitness goals there!!

Burn boot camp is a great workout, until its not. Very quickly the workout becomes monotonous and…read moreboring. They advertise a floating floor which is great for joints however for me, I felt that the jumping moves were not always stable. I have witnessed at least 3 people become injured during the class and Im sure that there's been more. In order to make the workout less repetitive, they try to incorporate new moves that aren't completely safe. Yes, you can modify, however now the workout is less effective. On top of injuries, the lead trainer Kristen talks nonstop throughout the workout. Nonstop. Its distracting and makes the workout even less enjoyable. She is also difficult to deal with when it comes to billing issues and mistakes and will not give out any additional people to contact, simply tells you to email. The one plus, if you have children, childcare is included. The room is clean, and most of the sitters are interactive with the kids. However, if you dont have kids, your still paying for childcare. My advice is stay away from this gym. I was a member for over a year and ended my membership when they told me I was going to be charged a annual $49 maintenance fee. This fee was to be used to upkeep the gym, buy new equipment and make improvements. I never saw any of these things, only seeing equipment that was worn and needed to be replaced. ( medicine balls) There are alot of similar gyms out there that aren't nickle and diming you to death, and charging you for services you dont use. They also don't have a long term contracts. I haven't done anything substantial like this for years, and I have survived so far, and even love it. The staff here (married couple) are very good. Excellent technical knowledge on lifts, one is a PT and specializes in mobility also - so you can know you are in good hands. The group of people aren't filled with 21 year olds with single digit body fat percentages. There are a fair amount of brand new men and women, and some seasoned ones as well. Everyone is very friendly, and very social. It is not a huge gym ("box," if you prefer). There are a couple of things I wish they would do to improve things. I would gladly take those issues instead of a different group of people. I will try to update in a couple months.

All of their work out facilities are on the second floor (except the pools). They have a large studio where almost all of the classes are held, a walking track (which overlooks two basketball courts below), and a HUGE fitness center. My favorite part of this gym is the fitness classes they offer; which include HIIT, Zumba, Combat, Yoga, Pilates, and more!! The instructors are fabulous and I haven't met one that I haven't like yet.

This is an animal gym for animals…read more The pool is too hot for serious lap swimmers. This is, sadly, typical for YMCA pools. But what is not typical? Abandoned Band-aids and wax earplugs in the water, hairballs that never get cleaned or filtered away, water that is too cloudy to see through after the summertime day-camp kids have their way with the place, and off-the-charts unhealthy indoor air quality (don't swim here with asthma). Plus there's the one lifeguard who asks for your phone number. Every time he sees you. Nothing in the building ever gets cleaned. The locker room mold is off the charts, and dust and lint accumulating on the air duct vents suggests a serious fire hazard. Speaking of nothing ever getting cleaned, please do not touch the plastic turf in the weight room unless you want to smell like it for days. The residue of Axe body spray, Drakkar Noir, and eau de dirty sock/foot sweat from people who take off their shoes and stroll around like they're the beach has steeped the turf to the point that it will literally stain your sneakers. A handful of the weight machines are already out of service less than two months after being purchased. Not sure if this says more about the clientele or the fact that the Y bought these machines from Temu. This place gets so crowded during peak hours (which is most of the day) that it's nearly unusable, and the crowding is compounded by (1) bad behavior and terrible gym etiquette which goes (2) selectively enforced by YMCA staff. Forget about using the weight sled; two boys are lounging on it. You wanted to use the landmine press? Sorry, a woman has built herself a dumbbell nest right in front of it. You want to use the plyo boxes? Too bad; a guy is draped across them while FaceTiming his naked girlfriend and you're about to be on camera. You'd like to walk on the track? Unfortunately, a woman and her small children need, for some reason, to walk five abreast and will give you a death stare every time you try to pass. Don't even get me started on the number of inappropriate and incorrect exercises the personal trainers have their clients doing. I guess it's convenient to have a physical therapy business across the room because yikes. It's no wonder the Upper Main Line YMCA won't give us reciprocity to use their facility. This is a human zoo. For what you get, this place should cost $5 a month. I will never get over the nerve of the Rocky Run YMCA spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a lobby facelift when they are so badly in need of capital improvements to infrastructure, staff training, and some gym staff who actually know what the hell they're doing.
