I joined this gym while back home tending to family and covid. I had 5 seperate concerns and experiences with this gym. One in which when it happened, I let it go. However due to how poorly I have been treated by their staff and witnessed how poorly they have treated others, I felt the need to share and blast this gym for their behavior and poor practices. I would NOT recommend this gym to anyone. Not only as a Personal Trainer, but as a former member. First Instance: I was changing out of my clothes in the women's locker room and naked and I literally had one of the MALE staff members enter without announcing his entrance and see me naked. It was so humiliating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Second Instance: I continued to watch the staff stand around leaning against the counter while the paper towels and sanitizer bottles were empty. And people waiting for assistance while they were busy chatting with their back to memebers. Third Instance: Upon closing time they were always so quick to get everyone out the door. Understandably, but please allow your members to exit your gym safely! I witnessed the lights be turned off while an elderly man was trying to get to the exit in a walker and the staff simply did NOT care. He needed the extra lights as he also wore glasses. I was the kind soul whom eneded up assisting him and ensured he did not fall on any equipment nor slipped the wet floors. This was so disappointing to witness, not only was the gym not avoiding liability, but proved they don't have common human decency. Fourth Instance: I froze my account while they still allowed. I had a family death and communicated with the gym about wanting to cancel. I received a voicemail from the gym stating they already had my signature from my freeze and they would cancel my account. They proceeded to CHARGE my credit card claiming the staff documented each call. I spoke to Tammi, Manager whom was rude and unwilling to help me. Then I spoke to Skyler who when asked the last time I actually checked into their gym, said they checked me in for each call! I wanted to know my last physical check-in to determine how many months they charged me while l reside in another state. Skyler was not only rude and unprofessional, he truly believes each and every employee did not lie nor provide me false information in regards to the cancel. He said I would need to PROVE a voicemail and was little to no help. He said the corporate office would just refer me back to him. And he did not care if I wrote any review about their gym, deeming himself and his staff untouchable for their actions. Luckily, my credit card understands and will be fighting this AWFUL gym. I also had a family death in which was a distraction at the time and continued to have contact with the gym and told them I wanted to cancel. The staff not only lied, they again lacked professionalism and human compassion. They charged for months and months and I did not step foot in their gym to workout in Nebraska or anything other state. DO THE RIGHT THING PLANET FITNESS! Stop raping people for services they did NOT utilize. Fifth Instance: Showers were often dirty and had hair on the walls and in the drains. I would politely tell the staff and they did not care. The red light therapy room was never disinfected either. During the times of COVID I would expect greater sanitation and cleanliness. PLEASE DO NOT sign up for this gym if you want a clean, respectful, caring, and professional environment to workout in. I will NEVER step foot in another Planet Fitness and as a Personal Trainer, will recommend all my friends, family, and clients go elsewhere. From a native Lincoln woman - RUN! They will screw you over and it won't even phase them. And you might get peeped on by their male staff. I shared my picture as this young man entering the locker room whom saw me almost daily...this definitely didn't feel like an 'accident'. They had a child care facilit... found my son out in the parking lot... then found out that they had peanut products in their child care facility. They still charged us a years worth of membership even though we been their for a few weeks. Customer care services were rude and unapologetic. DO NOT DO SERVICE WITH RHIS ORGANIZATION. read more

System error = "late fees" - don't join this gym. I started my membership at this gym in January. Received a $103 dollar charge in my account in April from this location. Called to ask what this charge was. Spoke with Lindsey who informed me I had not paid January or February and was also charged and annual fee. Checked bank and found that I had been charged my start up fee in January ($6 promotional startup fee), a second $10 fee in January a $10 fee in February and for some reason March was not pulled although funds were available. Gave this info to Lindsey and was told that $103 was actually my annual ($52) + March ($10) + late fees ($40). I asked why there were late fees considering all months aside from March had been paid and the account is linked to my bank which has always had the funds available to pull. March should have pulled as well. Lindsey informed me their online system has a problem linking to the bank account as the "primary" and can't always pull from the account. The system will then attempt to charge the other option after 7 days. Late fees accrue after 2 days. I'm struggling to understand why their system error is now my problem. My PF account on the app has read $0 for the last 4 months. Lindsey comforted me by saying they DO NOT give refunds and reassured me the manager will for sure NOT refund me. Planning to call manager Monday but this seems scammy. If your system cannot link to bank accounts and accurately process payment information that should just not be a payment method :) sure it's $40 but really it's the principle of the matter. How much money does this company make operating this way? Don't give this gym your account information just pick a different gym. read more

Everytime I come in here the front desk workers (all 3 guys, one guy with a white hat, one bigger guy, one lanky guy) are on their phones. No greeting or customer service! It's very strange and they seem to be on their phones and talking more than working. They usually do this from (2pm-10pm) I've actually considered switching gyms or times I go to the gym to avoid them since they throw everything off. You can tell this place is ran with high school people as very few of the employees say hello or even look up from there phones or gossip. They need to be taught better, somethings shouldn't change. It was cleaner before the shut down, I rarely see any cleaning. Maybe and I know this is tough but, go walk around the gym and see the ones not wearing a mask and it's always the same guys. Not if the paper towels are out we shouldn't have to tell them. now many of the seats are ripping and I'm sure they have no clue. I will be canceling my membership and go someplace that cares. read more

I stopped going in March '20 due to Covid but after getting vaccinated I returned 13 months later thinking sanitary precautions would be exacerbated because of the virus, but only to find the employees NOT constantly vacuuming, refilling the sanitizer bottles and paper towels or wiping down the equipment the way the previous staff was noticeably doing before covid hit. Some of the equipment no long have stickers indicating the weight amount and some coil cords aren't attached to the pins. If the staff is getting paid to stand behind the counter and stare at their phones all day, then I'll come out of retirement and hire on. p.s., I can't wait for the new facility to open at 86th and Leighton. At least everything will be new and clean. read more

Planet Fitness is a perfectly lovely gym, but their pricing is deceptive. My $10/month plan cost $69.36 for 9 weeks as itemized below: $26.52 - September 3: $21.72 Start-Up Fee plus prorated dues of $4.80 through September 16 $10.70 - September 17: Monthly fee through October 16 $10.70 - October 17: Monthly fee through November 16 $21.44 - 4 visits from October 25-Nov. 7 at $5.36 each I was leaving Lincoln on November 8 and had 3 options to continue using the gym until then: 1) Pay the Annual Membership Fee of $41.73 on November 1; 2) Cancel my membership and sign up for another plan at $20 plus a prorated monthly fee of $8.70; 3) Cancel the membership and pay $5.36 for each visit, which is what I chose. I cancelled my contract on October 25 as stipulated in my contract, which immediately terminated my membership (NOT just the payment scheduled for Nov. 1), so the $10.70 I paid on October 17 was only good for one week and none of the amount was returned. I think they should have the amount I had paid for Oct. 25 - Nov. 16 OR allowed me to use the gym until my annual payment was actually due on Nov. 1. read more

This club on S. 48th Street has the latest equipment with tanning and hydromassage beds and other amenities. I mainly go on evenings and nights and the girls who work that shift are constantly cleaning. It's as clean as a hospital. I never caught Covid-19 working out there and now I'm fully immunized so life is good! I highly recommend this club. read more

I just moved here a little over a month ago and have had no problems since I've been here, I was leaving after my workout and the manager told me my annual fee was 2 days past due, I told her I'm sorry I will take care of it on Friday when I have the funds available,she was very rude about saying then you can come back Friday, and that I can't work out until I pay annual fee on Friday, my membership is paid I said I don't see why I shouldn't be able to continue to workout, I did in fact pay my membership I'm just going to be a little late on my annual fee. It's bad enough I have to pay an extra 10$ for late fee but to be told I can't workout until I pay fee on Friday is not right. read more

DO NOT SIGN UP HERE I asked for the basic package and the employee signed me up for the black card membership instead, for some reason. I was never informed this, never once used any black card perks. And because of covid I cancelled my membership. Guess who kept charging me regardless? Planet Fitness. I finally realized what's going on and cancelled in person, only to find out they're not refunding any bit of the UNUSED services, despite proof that I never used it. Even the months where I thought I had cancelled my membership. This is how they make their money. They upcharge people who aren't laser focused on their bank statements and don't cancel when you ask them to, and then say they don't offer refunds because "you signed the contract." So unprofessional. They say one thing and then another. And their manager, Skiler, is never available. They said he tried calling but "your voicemail inbox" was full, which is a lie because I check my inbox every week and clear out old messages. This is so depressing. I can't afford this. Covid has wrecked my finances but here's a multi million dollar company, gladly taking my money. I pretty much made a donation to Planet Fitness. I wish I had never signed up with them. read more

Planet Fitness is a phenomenal gym! I have never had a gym membership before so Planet Fitness was my first. It is super affordable with lots of amenities. I use the tanning beds almost every time I go and have never had to wait. The massage chairs are also a nice way to cool down after a hard workout. If you are also a first time gym goer I would 100% recommend Planet Fitness for their welcoming atmosphere and quality equipment. read more

The gym is great. Plenty of treadmills. The weights can be a little busy between 5 and 7pm. Otherwise, no complaints. I love how clean it is kept. Good staff. read more
