One of the best planet fitnesses I've ever seen in and I've seen over 100. So many hammer strength machines that will destroy your skeletal system. +10 Smith machines and a ton of weight stacks. This thing is better than a lot of more pricey gems. Anyone who doesn't like planet fitness should jump off a bridge. read more

Nice place, but hours are not good for me. Corporate seems to find a way to close earlier and earlier. Today closing at 2 before snow storm, closing on Friday's at 9, closing weekends at 7, and it just seems to get earlier. They are one step closer to losing me to Giant. One more earlier closing and I am done. I like the fact that I can use them in other states, but that won't be enough for me if they keep cutting hours to save money. read more

Tried to cancel my membership for 2 months. Kept stringing it along, saying it was a mistake, they can't do anything about it. And now I'm stuck with a membership into may that I can't use. Not to mention their yearly maintenance fees start in May, so I'm sure I'll get charged for that as well. Go to any other gym. read more

This gym is perfect! I typically go very early in the morning, and it is not crowded. I've come in late-morning on Sundays and it's still not crowded (steady traffic, but one does not wait around for equipment). The staff here is always very welcoming and friendly. This is gym probably meets the needs of 75% of "gym people" as it has plenty of cardio, a good amount of weights, and circuit stations. There is no pool, hot tub, sauna, etc. but if all you're trying to do is get in a good workout and stay healthy you've found your spot! On top of all this, there is free tanning (not for me since I have a truly free year-round tan haha), and free massage chairs/beds. read more

I just joined because my gym closed down. It is clean but way to cramped inside. Even when it is not busy you feel like everyone is on top of each other. Too small with to much cramped into a little space. read more

Well, today I went out of my way to come to this particular planet fitness because it always in my opinion separated itself from all the other planet fitness around until TODAY!!! First I want to say that this planet fitness is always clean, staff has always been nice, this is a good gym! This planet fitness is not my home gym but from time to time I liked coming to this one! I noticed a while ago they updated the lighting and today I see they updated alot of the machines which made me VERY SAD! The older hammer strength machines that this particular planet fitness had, you could not find at any other planet fitness, I am so sad OMG, now this planet fitness is just like any other! Super clean, rarely very busy and great staff! They recently moved the machines around which made more room in the free weight area. The other members are very considerate. My son and I both have memberships at the Mantua site. I love that there is a PF pretty much everywhere so I can always find a place to get my workout in. read more

I've been coming to this PF for about a month and a half now and I have to say it is the best planet fitness I've ever been to. This place isn't horrible but could really stand to improve. First it's a fairly basic gym but you probably expect that from planet fitness and that's ok although an area for children would be nice and probably not hard to fit in. The showers are I think the most disappointing here. I know a lot of people don't use them but those that do will be disappointing. The pressure is inadequate but worse still is the temperature. You can't really get it "hot" just pretty warm and temperature randomly goes way down while showering. Maybe it's when something else uses water but it's really annoying. The machines are mostly kept up with one one here or there down for service and because it's typically not very crowded it's pretty easy to get whatever type of machine you need. That said the machines are quite old and could use a refresh. Everything is life fitness brand equipment but it's all so old they actually have 30pin iPod docks. No usb, lighting or phone connectors here. Ideally ide like to see at least a few refreshed life fitness machines that support gym kit from Apple so I can sync my workout to my watch. read more

We go to several Planet Fitness locations. This is the poorest run we've been too. Unkept, dusty floors and seemingly very lazy uninterested help. The straw that made us leave this Yelp is the poor management. They decided not to honor "unlimited guest privileges" for guests of black card members. No wonder why no one goes there. Do yourself a favor at go to a gym that honors what they advertise and give your money to a company who treats there members like customers. Worst manager encounter ever. Wow. read more

They changed hours for covid, but have not changed them back yet. They don't open till 6 am and I need 5 am. I used to love this place but can't go till they change their hours again!! So frustrating. At the gym I was told that corporate people set the hours and that the gym would like to open earlier. The worker claimed she would welcome the additional hours. PLEASE open earlier. First time back at the gym in a year since covid. This place is super clean anywhere you turn. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Had my first training session with their trainer Corey and he was great! Pushed me hard but was conscious of my limits and didn't have me do anything I wasn't comfortable with or couldn't physically do. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel comfortable in the gym. I would definitely recommend him to any of my friends. read more

As you can see someone contacted me from Planet Fitness and told me to ask the desk to make it cooler. I did that the other day and was told by the desk they are not allowed to change the temperature. The temperature seems to be getting hotter and hotter. I would guesstimate the temp to have been about 75. read more

Ok the only reason that I am giving this gym a 4 is because of the issue with the tanning beds and the lack of fresh bulbs...Other than that the staff is one of the only reasons I keep coming to this gym and they are taking them away at am alarmingly fast rate. We were very disappointed at this location. We joined two weeks ago and our card number was in the computer, but they had some issues getting the details in their computer. Yesterday the manager Tahai Exum was there when we went in, he was so rude and made faces at us that the details are not there and he has not been able to charge our card. If their system has issues how is it our fault.. my husband got angry and we immediately had to walk away from there. He did not like the way the guy spoke to me so we just cancelled our membership. read more

As a new member, I am disappointed in service last night when I brought a guest. I was excited to use the red light for a second time and requested directions from the two young men at the front desk. One guy said, " I don't know how to use it" and the second guy gave me directions for use of the red light. I was unable to use the red light because the directions were incorrect. The second guy did not offer to specifically show me how to use the red light. I am considering cancelling my membership. read more

Nice gym to work out at.. Multiple equipment, clean, and a nice atmosphere. I pay $20 a month and get to bring guests, go to any planet fitness, tan, and use massage beds.. The staff at this planet fitness isn't always friendly though.. Half the time I'm there, when I leave no one says "have a nice day" or even a goodbye . There's always a ton of people on schedule it seems and they're so busy talking to each other where they don't welcome you or say anything to the customers. Planet fitness is supposed to be known as a judgment free zone yet it seems like the only people that judge are the ones that work there. read more

This facility practices blatant "bait and switch" and seem to go out of their way to ensure that you are not fully informed of what you are purchasing until your credit card has already been charged. I have no problem with the facility or exercise environment, but I am appalled by their deceptive business practices and the management's unwillingness to rectify the situation or correct their behavior. When my daughter and I signed up in April it was in response to a $1 down, $10 a month deal, and we went in personally to ask about all the charges. NOT ONCE where we informed about a $41 a year fee. The only thing we were told is that my credit card would be charged $10 the 17th of each month- period. And believe me, I asked about all charges. That is why I went in personally to speak with a human being vs. signing up online. I was also never given a copy of an agreement contract. However, on June 1, 2016, my credit card was charged $41 twice from ABC Financial which Planet Fitness of Mantua informed me today was our annual fee. When questioned further about an alleged contract I signed, they admitted that I would not have seen this contract in print form, but it would have been on the credit card screen. I was led to believe that I was signing the credit card screen to authorize the $10 charge to the credit card. I spoke with the supervisor, Alex M. , who claimed that I was also emailed the contract immediately on April 4. This is a blatant lie. I have absolutely no emails from Planet Fitness until today, when I questioned the charge and the supervisor sent me the contract. I searched my 59000 emails, and not one is from Planet Fitness until the one received today (June 22). I was lied to in person and then again today when the supervisor claimed to email a contract on April 4, 2016 a contract that was not received until questioned on June 22, 2016 and believe that Planet Fitness should refund us the entire $82. When I spoke to the supervisor about speaking with someone at a corporate level, he informed me that it wouldn't matter since it was a franchise. Shame on Mantua's Planet Fitness for practicing a deceptive bait and switch tactic and making no effort to rectify the situation; the company's unwillingness to resolve it or offer some kind of compromise is just bad business practice. In addition, a complaint has formally been submitted with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I'm writing about my disappointing service I received when visiting the gym last night. My home gym is Wilmington de, is now closed until Thursday for renovations. We have when in the area visited mantua gym 20 or more times. I'm a black card member and I had a guest with me. We both wanted to use the tanning bed after our workout. We were told that only me the member could, not my guest. It clearly states on the agreement they have on the counter guest of black card members have unlimited privileges. I have visited many other locations including this one and have never had this issue. I explained this to the employee and she then got the "Manager" on the phone and did nothing to try and understand or remedy the problem. Even if he said this is a new policy here, but we will allow u to tan tonight but going forward this is the rule. Any attempt would have been better then to keep repeating the same thing as if he heard nothing I said. I have never complained about this gym but it kept poorly, dusty etc and employees many nights just sitting on the counters talking about customers. Sad but true in this no judgement zone read more
