The young man at the front desk told me to just download the app. Then he went back to doing whatever talking to other staff about what he wanted for lunch. He never checked back with me to see if I needed anything. It took a few mins to logged in and set up. I was never offered a tour, a welcome, nothing. We worked out at this Planet Fitness recently and enjoyed our experience. I really enjoyed all the windows and how light it was inside. It made it seem open and spacious. There were just a couple things to be aware of that we noted while being there. We noticed there weren't as many machine selections as other locations. Also, the machines were super close together which felt a bit claustrophobic at times. However, the staff seemed friendly and we didn't run into any issues. All in all, this seemed like a really nice gym if they have the machines you are looking for! read more

I was in tonight, and in Friday evening. As far as I can tell, the same piece of paper was crumpled on the floor in the handicap stall of women's bathroom that was there Friday night. I noticed this as I walked by to another stall. Also, two paper towel machines out on the floor were empty, but - 2 guys working behind the desk. I didn't ask them to refill, so that's on me, but - I don't get it. Have some pride in your work. I really appreciate it when Planet Fitness is clean. read more

0/10. I try to avoid planet fitness because I find their model very demeaning, lunk alarm? It just kind of incentivizes people to be fat and be ashamed if they're in shape and want to show it off. But there's not a lot of options in Mount Juliet so decided to give this one a try. The staff are always incredibly rude; not only are they not knowledgeable about training but they're always on their phone and always seem irritated if you walk in the gym. Like tonight, when I walked in at 8:04, and was told that they close soon. Nothing make someone feel less welcome than a greeting like that. Which I knew they closed at nine by the way, because I checked the app and decided that 56 minutes was enough time to workout.. I never have an issue with getting on any cardio equipment that I want to use. The weight floor is pretty packed and some additional room and machines would be really helpful to spread out people and have the ability to use what you need when you need it. People are still people and will not clean up after themselves on machines but I do see the staff cleaning from time to time. The massage chairs and hydro massage are a great ending to a workout and the locker rooms are clean and spacious. read more

Overall the gym is good, but they really need to upgrade the bandwidth of their WIFI. They use the excuse of too many people on the WIFI at the same time, but it doesn't work even when the gyn is fairly empty. read more

Great staff and very attractive women. You could hear them gossiping about people and they need to stop crying because staff only say Hi's and Bye's and doesn't talk to them more than that. I have been to planet fitness gyms all over the US . but every single time I walk in ( which is daily) the mgr is sweeping outside ,cleaning the front sidewalk , mopping the restrooms or cleaning the gym . she totally leads by example for her crew. this gym is CLEAN and that means a lot w all the Covid and other things go around. Would love to go back, but had to cancel again when I realized little has changed from before covid with their "commitment to clean." Masks are only required for members when walking in/out and checking in, then they are removed, placed in lockers and its a germ free for all. The corporate video about putting on a mask when getting off your machine is not the case here locally. (Local mask mandate is still in effect in our county.) Members are still required to wipe their own machines, but base of the machines are still full of hair and dust stuck to sweat as they were before covid. Not sure who's sanitizing the equipment like in the video, but I did see a worker with a duster walking around!?! Funny people act like they care about their health by working out yet gather at this gym mask free. Extra measures are NOT being taken or enforced to keep the gym clean and members healthy. read more

Brand new location in the Valley Center that took over the old YMCA spot and expanded. This place is very nice for a gym. Super clean (it is new after all), very nice staff, decent changing rooms and lockers, etc. They have a drink cooler if you need a Gatorade or bottled water. This location is a black card location as well with 2 massage chairs, 3 hydrotherapy beds, several tanning booths, and 2 or 3 of the infrared stand ups. ($10/mo standard membership or $20/mo for black card) The trainer is also very nice. We've taken several classes with her and love the personal touch as PF members. This is a great location with many non-standard "gym-type" people in attendance. I don't feel out of place working out here. If you're considering a membership locally, look no further! read more

0 Stars is more accurate. I'll admit the gym LOOKS new and clean (aside from the folks who don't wipe down their machines), but you get those people at every gym. My issue is with the enrollment, billing, late fees, and lack of transparency. I signed up in September 2022, and by November 2022 had already paid over $145 in fees for my membership. When I signed up, I went into the club to sign up and was told I needed to do so online. That was the first red flag. What are you being paid for at the front desk if not to help people sign up when they show up in person and ask to join? I sat down at the tables in the front and signed up, then went back to the front desk to check in & sign all the enrollment documents. For some reason I could sign up online, but couldn't also sign all the enrollment docs the same way...? It turns out if I sign up online instead of being helped by someone who's TRAINED to enroll people, the onus is on me if I fat finger my payment info. So, for two months I was paying the $25 + $15 late fee since my primary payment method (checking account) failed. Then, I see a $54 pending fee on my card and finally go into the gym on 11/9/22 in person to figure out what's going on. The $54 is the $39 annual fee plus another $15 late fee. When I talked to the manager and had him input my checking account info, he assured me I wouldn't get hit with that third late fee for my $39 annual fee despite showing him the pending charge on my credit card app -- but I got charged anyway. To his credit, he did offer to not charge me for a month by using a "financial hardship" program that would let me still use the gym, but not be charged for a month. This would have mostly offset the first two late fees ($30 total). The third late fee after our interaction was the final nail in the casket. As part of cancelling my membership today, I'm going to be charged another $25 next month since cancelling somehow disabled the "financial hardship" thing. So from September 2022 to December 2022 this gym will have milked me for $170 -- and I used the facilities less than five times. The problem I have is that I never received any sort of monthly receipt or any breakdown via email for my payments - had they emailed me a receipt I would have saw the first late fee right away and fixed it. I also didn't receive any notification that my primary payment method failed, which is also sketchy AF. When I check my app under Billing, I can't see my payment history either. This all falls under UDAAP as far as I'm concerned since these are Unfair Deceptive Abusive Acts or Practices. I cancelled my membership today. How is any of this doing right by the customer or acting in our best interests? It's sad that the folks that work there can't empathize with the customer's POV. I also understand that most of the people at the front desk are kids and this is probably one of their first jobs, but after trying to get those late fees reversed twice and speaking to an assistant manager I'm over it and won't be coming back. Those $45 in late fees and lack of receipts were the inspiration for this review. read more

I love working out here the trainer is amazing and pushes you to be the best!!!!. With that being said the front desk people stand around and talk non stop. The tanning beds are NEVER CLEANED. This is the nastiest place I have EVER SEEN when it comes to keeping the bathrooms and tanning areas clean! read more

It's always disappointing to come here. My wife and I have memberships due to the convenience of how close it is to our home. This gym lacks enough equipment for the demand and has oversold memberships. There is not a time in the day that this place isn't packed and you don't have access to the machines you need to use. The crowd meter is never correct because it should always be maxed out. I would like to enjoy a workout and be able to use the machines and weights I would like without having to deal with a bunch of kids on their phones and playing instead of taking the gym serious. I have been in many other Planet Fitness gyms and this one is very disappointing. The layout of the center weight machines don't make sense. The elliptical machines are not the same as other PF and are difficult and uncomfortable. The stretching area is a joke. There is nothing there but mats. Not even a wall bar or balls. As a follow-up to the Planet Fitness reply below, my wife and I pointedly asked about and was told that we could freeze our membership for a period that we would not be using the gym, such as going on vacation. We signed up for our annual membership based on this. The point to note here, is that the manager at the desk, who I requested for the freeze, told me that an annual membership does not qualify for a freeze and she had no way of doing it !! She did not mention anything about a medical reason. She also seemed to suggest that I might try to use this option as a pretext to retroactively claim a freeze for a past period of no-use ???? Its clear here that the manager herself did not know the facts regarding the agreement. It seems disingenuous to get us to sign up for an annual membership by making up options, and then with the response here on Yelp pointing to the agreement itself (medical reasons'), try to give us a reason that is not true ('annual accounts cant be frozen'). We trusted the guidance of the person who signed us up. Seems like the employees, the managers dont know what qualifies for a freeze, and then try to make up excuses for not allowing for a freeze. I really would not recommend anyone sign up for an annual membership at Planet Fitness, given that neither the employees nor the managers realize what rules apply to the annual membership. read more

It is a Planet Fitness! They are cookie cutter locations which is precisely why I have a membership with them. I always know what to expect and I'm familiar with the equipment. This location could use some housekeeping work in two areas - cleanliness and customer service. Like most gym goers, I have my "spot" and I tend to use the same equipment every other time. It has been standing out lately that those pieces of equipment are consistently dusty. Not the worst thing in the world but it is quite noticeable. The crew is pleasant but they obviously vibe better with their "regulars". I have a PF Black Card so that I can visit any club location when I'm out of town or around town. M'Boro is a stand out club! I've grown to like the have a great workout or at minimum head nods and smiles that I get from the crew at other PFs. I know we may not become besties but having just moved to the area and have been coming to this location for a solid week now, it's great to know you're around friendly folk. At the end of the day, it's a gym. If they can tidy up a bit more - I will certainly be satisfied. Smiles lighten the mood... make us feel warm & fuzzy, but my workout is what I'm there for. I decided to join planet fitness because the black card makes it easy to work out in other locations while traveling. I miss some of the features of my previous gym in RI (sauna, classes, pool) but overall it has what I need. I've been pleased to find that the front desk staff is very friendly, taking the time to get to know me by name. I rarely wait for equipment. I also got a text alert when the gym closed for a plumbing issue and I found this to be very helpful. read more

When there is a line of empty treadmills, staff cannot ask customers politely to distance. The response is that we have done the bare minimum (i.e. six feet) and cannot do more. I've seen a couple of reviews being simply disrespectful about the staff. I have gone to gyms 5-7 days a week for 20 years. I have never been to a gym that has consistently treated me like I was a valued member as the planet fitness in Mt Juliet. It is always clean and the staff is as friendly as any place I've ever been. There have been two different situations that caused confusion with my account, and they went WAY out of their way to handle the situation and treat me with respect. I really like it here. I never have to wait on equipment! There is no judgement so no one cares if I roll out of bed and hit the gym. I see that almost everyone sprays down the equipment after they use it. No one really hangs out on equipment just talking, obstructing you from using it. Staff is always professional and courteous. The only complaints that I have is the paper towel holder near the ellipticals is usually out and ladies who wear way too much perfume make me want to gag. It seriously makes me have a hard time breathing when they get on equipment right beside me. It smells like gardenia and old wooden musty closets. I wish they would put up signs asking people to refrain from having perfume or cologne on until after their showers . read more

My local (Mount Juliet, TN) Planet Fitness has been showing radicalized Christian Content on the Cardio TVs on Sundays. I have asked for over two weeks for the management to address this. I understandably like to work out without myself, my family, or our friends being threatened with execution or judged to be sinners. (Seriously last week one of the churches called for the Execution of LGBT people, and this week they were discussing executing Muslims and that all Christians should arm themselves preparing to "take out the muslims"). Today the management at the Mount Juliet gym called me to apologize, but its their policy to never change the TV channels. They suggested that I should change my workout schedule or just move to another part of the gym (Never mind that this sort of content was playing on 6 of the 10 TVS with closed captioning turned on so that you can't avoid them). read more

Though some may not consider it the gym for "serious" power lifters, this is a really nice facility for the every day exerciser. There are at least 50 treadmills/eliptical machines so you'll never have to wait even at rush hour times. The gym is always super clean and you will notice the workers going around refilling paper machines and cleaning every 30 minutes like clock work. The "spa" area features tanning and massage beds which is a nice plus. For $10 a month (basic gym membership only) you just can't beat it. Staff is kind & it's a very un intimidating atmosphere. This place will steal your money while hiding under the statement of "sorry you signed a contract". They don't give a crap about your or your safety all they care about is your money. This place stole 40$ from my bank account even though I canceled the membership 6 days prior to the fees. They told me it's a service fees for something that I wouldn't benefit from. I've been a black card member for over 1 year, generally they are courteous but every time I go to check in and want to tan, they begin to help me and them check in the people that arrive after me. This happened two weeks ago and I asked the person that did this to me and she apologized but couldn't give me a reason why when I asked directly why she waited on the people that arrived after me. This is unacceptab;e and a pattern of behavior of the check in staff. read more
