I've stopped going. I need to use ONE lousy machine and one lady and one man monopolize it. They each do time on it and switch with each other and no one up front gives a crap. The machine is the recumbent elliptical stepper. Then you have another guy that works this machine so hard I can't believe someone hasn't stopped him. I am waiting for him to bust it and not get a replacement. The reason the two people have to behave like this is because Planet Fitness doesn't seem to want to get an additional machine which may help this. 3 of us went up to the counter to complain about having to wait and wait for this ONE machine to be free. In fact, every time I went to tell one of the non verbal attendants, they basically just smile at you as if it just wasn't going to change. I didn't even have to say which machine it was because they were well aware and told me they get multiple complaints a week. I would think if a number of people complain about the same thing, someone would make an attempt to do something about it. I tried contacting higher ups. That is a waste of time also. There are disabled people or people who are limited to what they can use. Also the TVS have no sound and no way to get it. I've heard other PF's have sound for their TVS. And someone else said people sitting on the "rare" machines on their phones as if they're on a park bench. Whoever designed this place has no clue what is needed. Also, they could use a machine that you can sit on and do waist twists from left to right. I can't stand on my knees to do it as I've had knee issues. The place is geered to muscle heads and treadmill users. I enjoyed going at first but this incumbent machine which I NEED to use has become so popular that going morning or afternoon you have a hard time accessing it. And, we all feel bad when we're on it cause someone is waiting in the wings. I've had people come up to me and I've asked people how long they would be on it. That isn't fair to any of us. No one wants to feel they have to shorten their time because someone else wants to use the ONLY machine available. I only gave it 3 because they all know about this problem and have for a long time. read more

Wow I am having a problem with one of the bicycle machines it is not working properly. I complained to the manager who told me she doesn't know how it works. When I said as the manager she should know how the equipment works she said that isn't her job to know that . She was very defensive about it and not helpful at all.. Clean equipment. Friendly members. Many of the staff, including management just stand behind the counter and BS. they don't walk the floor. Many times I have had to wait 10 minutes while other members sit at the machines and scroll. . It's rude and selfish. If the walked the floor they would see this and instruct these people about gym etiquette. On the other hand two staff members who seem to be in management positions are rude and kind of lazy. These guys (Owner Mayank Jasani, I believe) run a well planned membership cancellation scam, forcing people to go through difficult and inconvenient procedures to cancel their service, solely for the purpose of enriching themselves off of persons who've discontinued their service. Continuing to collect money for many months after members have moved away and discontinued use of their gym. The "easy to subscribe, hard to cancel" business con is well known, but a well-greased investment avenue for unethical business investment firms and owners that own these particular Planet Fitness gyms, including the Mount Poconos branch. They owe me $739.19, a deal I made with their corporate office "Social Team", and I plan on collecting every dime. Naturally, the local gym won't pay us what they agreed to, so I'm filing with the BBB and FTC today, and Josh Shapiro tomorrow morning. If no luck, we are going to small claims court to force them to live up to their own "deal." This location also hides who the true owners are, which makes it more difficult for the court to enforce payment when they lose suits (and they lose plenty of them nationwide). The shady "Regional Manager" Mayank Jasani is the Planet Fitness contact representing themselves. The Mt Pocono franchise branch is not dealing in good faith, even though they already committed to a refund with myself and their own corporate office. And yes I have it all in writing. THEY ARE LIARS. ONCE THEY START CHARGING YOUR CARD... GOOD LUCK getting them to STOP. You literally have to take them to small claims court which I am currently arranging. Weird hours on weekends, and some of the least helpful employees i've ever encountered. We went in to try to get a membership in person and the one kid who was working said he wasn't sure how to work that part of the computer. When he turned to get help from another employee, they all scattered. Like, literally scattered. The facility is also 98% cardio machines, so try to time any non-cardio workouts to when it's not busy if you aren't looking to wait at a machine. The facility is decently clean however and they have cleaner available for you to use between machines. read more

This is a decent location overall! The shopping center is a little rundown, but the PF is in great shape! The machines are clean, the black card spa amenities are in good shape and the staff was friendly. read more

I've been going to this gym since 2019. It's unfortunate how filthy this place has become. The equipment and floors are extremely dirty. I'm currently sitting here looking at dust balls that have been on the floor for a few days now. No hand sanitizer provided and we're still in a pandemic. The cleaning sprays are probably watered down. The owner should really come out and check up on his business. read more

There was a lot that I could say about this location that is incredibly negative, but I am going to focus on the customer service aspect. The staff present at this location mirror the neighborhood that it is a part of: ghetto and unprofessional. This is especially true for the manager, who goes by "Dan". After experiencing a medical emergency, I was forced to call and put a hold on my membership (NOT cancel), as I could not operate any sort of equipment or machinery until cleared by doctor. Not only did they demand a note from my doctor from me, but the language of the letter had to specify Planet Fitness and being unable to use machines related to a gym setting. This was very strange, considering the Planet Fitness down the street from me in Port Jervis had OFFERED to put a hold on my account without me asking, after I explained my situation.( It was unfortunately discovered that I had neglected to transfer my membership to this location when I moved).I was given no alternative by "Dan", to which I then requested information for the franchise owner so I could report all of the individuals in question. I was denied the information and told that they would in no way provide me with any information to get in touch with the owner and report them. I then hung up the phone, transferred my home membership to a different Planet Fitness, then called that Planet Fitness and put my account on hold. The process was very simple and I was stonewalled by people that shouldn't be in management and or sales positions at the Mount Pocono location. I wasn't even trying to cancel my membership, I simply wanted to put it on hold, and Dan and his cronies proceeded to give me the biggest hard time I've ever had when dealing with a gym or contractual agreement. My thoughts go out to the owner, whom I feel bad for that he has to put up with people like this in his workplace. Me & my husband being going to Planet fitness for the past 2 months. I absolutely think its the best and most clean, spacious, friendly gym I ever being to. I'd get membership as Christmas gift for close family and friends there. Wish they could expand at some point, I'd love to find a big swimming pool in the area. it works well for me.i enjoy seeing how many great people in my area live here and care about taking care of there health.i,ve lived here in this area for 25 years and seen a lot.good and bad.as well as a large loss of life due to many things.there were never any great jobs here and a lot of companies folded. this club was very costly to plan and to open as a great opportunity to improve your health.and to keep this going the owners will need all of our support.it is a very sad day in America that we are now faced with a deadly disease, sure we all can do our part to keep the club clean by wiping off the machines after you are done.this has pockets that are very strong and air-born. read more

I rarely review beloved brands this harshly because, life happens & things fall off occasionally...but...standing by my firm 0 stars here but had to give at least 1 in order to post... I was visiting Pocono are recently on business and naturally loved (for the moment) my gym was close...But...it was nothing like what I'm used to from PF... SO extremely disappointed in the lack of cleanliness standards and rundown condition of facility/equipment. The odor permeating throughout was unlike any gym funk I've ever experienced (lets just say...if you bottled spicy sweat, mold, and sewer with a touch of decomposition you'd be real close). Then, I witnessed the antithesis of customer service...(possibly discrimination based) I observed a 180 degree difference in the engaging treatment and courtesies shown to one member vs. rude and dismissive treatment of another. ahhh...then there are the sink holes upon potholes upon sink holes in parking lot...not ok...for anyone's tires or ankles...I'll be (and recommend) getting workout in @ tiny hotel gym next time I guess or find a competitive alternate option. This location is festering blemish on the brand and I'm disturbed by how inconsistent this location is vs. others. read more
