absolutely terrible service. I cancelled my membership because of the manager here. honestly the worst gym I've ever been too.

Management - please get rid of this strange bright strobe light in the "relaxing" area. As someone with a serious brain condition this can trigger pretty substantially, this light is awful. And I'm assuming nobody who is optimally functioning looks at it and is like "wow, nice atmospheric addition!" Lmao It's strange and like it's signaling something is wrong. Anyone who is epileptic or any light sensitivity I recommend you do NOT use the "black card spa" area as this is dangerous. And ugly? Lol read more

Never any hot water in the men's showers...stopped in 3 times in past week at 10:30-11 am and was unable to take hot shower

The staffs rudeness was expected but the cleanliness of this place was non existent everywhere and this place needs to be condemned. Filthy and old equipment was not welcoming at all. Tanning bed felt more like being on a discarded bed that had been in the elements for a month of slime and gunk, got out after a minute even after my attempts to clean it. (No garbage can in room, either) Highly DO NOT recommend. read more

Visited this location for the first time in 2 years. I am not sure about the entitled reviews on this site. This PF is recently renovated and is amazing. To put in context, the gyms at Myrtle Beach always deal with rude tourists looking for a free workout. My checkin was kind, smooth, and normal like my PF in Charlotte. This is one of the bigger ones I've seen. All new equipment, tons of space, and clean. As long as the patrons don't tear this place up, it will be one or the biggest and nicest PF locations in the USA read more

I have been to multiple Planet Fitness locations, in my travels in the south eastern United States. So if this post does not apply to you, my apologies. My recent visit was to a Planet Fitness at the address 1145 SEABOARD STREET, MYRTLE BEACH, SC 29577. All I required to do this day was leverage the tanning bed area. When I walked in, I was not greeted as I normally am, like the OUTSTANDING PF location in Clemmons, NC. A group of fairly young employees standing behind the . At least half of them were more interested in their cell phones. Again, all I wanted to do was check in for the tanning beds. No one would engage me. I even looked at them, and I, YES I, had to say something. After I walked to the tanning bed 'check in area' some young man by name of 'RYAN' finally approached me Ryan's demeaner from the start was negative. He didn't smile, as the typical Planet Fitness employees would be. He begrudgingly assisted me after I requested his assistance, with the login procedures for the tanning bed area. By far, the only negative employee that I had the misfortune to engage with, within the Planet Fitness Corporation. When I did enter the available tanning bed, there was an empty bottle of spray cleaner, and the machine that dispenses the paper towel was completely empty as well. I know that this is not the typical experience that a customer receives when entering and engaging with Planet Fitness facilities. The management was cussing and joking about religion behind the counter when I was grabbing a day pass. We payed our $20 for a plethora of broken machines, cables, barbells, and dumbbells. It was like influencer city when it came to the gym population. There was zero space to train (we were backed into a corner with a set of dumbbells most of the workout). I could have opted to train at my hotel for a better experience. I came a year prior, and shouldn't have trusted that things had changed for the better. whenever I travel I prefer a pf to the hotel gyms. This location is one of the best. lots of equipment and awesome staff.

I recently visited this gym on vacation. It's a really nice planetfitness with some new equipment that I had never seen or used for abs. The staff was very nice and friendly. The only thing I saw was that the floors were not clean at all. The faux wood looked like it had not been cleaned in a while, and the ladies' restroom area where the sinks were the floor was dirty with hair and debree. read more

My personal trainer hooked me up with a workout routine perfect for me & if he's there he's got no problem with helping me when I'm confused! Staff are excellent and more than welcoming. However - Does not make sense to have fan on high speed over the dumbell / Cable Section. Way too cold and breezy and makes it very uncomfortable to exercise in that area without getting the chills. AC vents pointed directly on certain machines as well which makes it very hard to use them without getting cold right away. Temperature is kept way to low. Glenforest, Socastee, and Murrells Inlet locations do not have this issue. read more

Says online that they are open 24hrs 24/7 They are not. Mon- Thurs I believe is 24hrs Friday they are open until 10 and Saturday Sunday they are only open until 9. The staff are not friendly at all, it's extremely dirty & to cancel the membership you have to either come in in person or send a letter. read more

I was a bit bummed. I'm new to this location and was used to the helpful staff in Arizona. The gym was practically empty this afternoon and had a question about a machine. The girl at the desk told me I would just need to take a class ‍ she seemed more than willing to help the few men that were there! The employees and managers at this gym are terrible. They lied to my 17-year-old son and told him he could get a free one-week membership then "cancel" in time. The employee never cancelled in time, the managers were not helpful, the phone service kept hanging up on us, and we spent $100 on the "free" week. Stay far, far away. My home gym is Planet Fitness is Edison, NJ but came here while I was on vacation. It was a clean gym, and the locker room was beautiful and kept impeccably clean with nice mirrors which my home gym lacks. One thing I did not like was that there were not enough weights or Smith machines. There were TV's everywhere, what are TVs doing in a gym? If I wanted to watch TV I would go home and hang out in my pjs. I found the TVs extremely distracting as I was trying to focus on form but having a screen there with a moving picture made me dizzy.I also may be in the minority as the stepper, and the treadmill or any machine make me dizzy..hence why cardio and I aren't on speaking terms and I live things up and put them down. Also, I am a black card member but my guest was no permitted to use any of the services? It was just a different gym crowd than I am used to, it seemed as though it was more focused on cardio than weights. More cardio machines less weights. Also the stretching area was really small, had no mirror, no kettlebells, and they didn't have bands or a barre bar. There was a personal training session going on in the 360 area so I couldn't use that, which was a bit annoying. It was an ok gym, but I am happy to be back at my home gym. read more

This is my regular gym and I visit it maybe 3 to 4 times a week. It's open 24 hours and offers all that PF offers from free pizza night once a month to free bagel morning once a month, to tanning, massage beds/chairs, etc. They have 4 showers in each locker room, one of which is for the handicapped. On the good side, I've seen lots of employees cleaning this location, wiping down equipment etc. They also have lots of treadmills and ellipticals. However, they definitely need a lot more arc trainers at this location as they currently have only 8 of them and supposedly this location has 13,000 members! Yep, 13,000. A manager told me that number. So yeah, with that kind of membership population, equipment is sometimes had at a real premium, to say the least. Indeed, this location is most of the time very busy. It gets so busy right after 5 pm Monday through Friday that it is completely normal to see patrons simply parking wherever they want, creating their own parking spaces and making the lot difficult to navigate. This is one of those locations that you definitely want to visit in the non-prime times. And be aware, there is a very sizable elderly contingent that frequents this PF, as I've actually even seen some on walkers trying to get around and use equipment...I say good for them! Generally, locker rooms are kept pretty clean, but they do have things to work on like broken or missing towel/garment hooks in the shower stalls, and they could really use a lot more toilets. My husband complains that they only have one adult urinal and 2 toilets on the men's side. It would also be great if they had a water fountain that specifically fills water bottles. It's a gym right, not the Taj Mahal, and it's super cheap as far as gyms go, so the value is here for sure if you can snag the free weights you need or a machine that isn't occupied. Sometimes it seems like certain equipment is like really valuable real estate that rarely gets offered on the market. Without going into any detail, major star demerits at this location for the personal training appointments they offer. Pretty much a complete and total waste of my time, which was about an hour. Do yourself a favor and don't expect much help from their personal trainers...at least that was my experience. Instead, check out this book: Women's Health Big Book of Exercises. Absolutely amazing, tons of a great pics, and way, way, way more helpful than meeting with a PF personal trainer. If you're a woman, read this book. I guarantee you that you find it beneficial. And so you know, they only have 2 personal trainers total for this location. read more

WE LOVE PF Myrtle Beach! The staff is phenomenal. Lockers rooms, showers and toilets are ALWAYS spotless. New machines, top of the line tanning beds and everything is oiled and cleaned daily! This location has been fantastic. I've have nothing but good experiences there and it is never super crowded. They have tons of machines for everything and it's always super clean. My only complaint is only two stair masters. Two. 30 treadmills, 2 stair masters. Otherwise great location! read more

I visited this planet fitness location while on a short trip to Myrtle Beach and was pleasantly surprised by how clean it is. During the hour I was working out I saw at least three employees systematically and thoroughly wiping down machines. When I first went in to the locker room it was being vacuumed, mopped, and scrubbed. An hour later another woman was in doing the same things again - I have never seen such a well cleaned shower area at PF. Staff were friendly and helpful, pausing to show me how to use a machine and saying hello and chatting while they worked. The only drawback was that it was a bit packed, though this might have just been because of the time I went in. Even so, I only had to wait a short time to use various machines - never more than five minutes. Employees were all masked though I seemed to be the only patron wearing a mask. :( read more

It's sad that I had to move membership due to an incident that was sparked by another member. Because I was the one to stand my ground, and he & another member reported ME....I am BANNED from the Myrtle Beach Planet Fitness.  As I am disabled (as is my best friend... who by the way is a retired police officer) I find it incredible how this is being handled. To prove my point, my legs collapsed last week while at Myrtle Beach Planet Fitness and Chris (one of your assistant managers) responded quickly to me. I now am subject to being at the Murrell's Inlet planet fitness where no one knows my medical issues. It took me months to get to a point where I felt I could trust the Myrtle Beach staff to take care of me and know when I'm not feeling well. I sure hope nothing happens to me while at the Murrell's Inlet Planet Fitness. No one may respond in the fashion the Myrtle Beach staff has! I'm sure if you observe any security footage of the incident that happened with me, you will understand why I'm not happy with this situation. read more

The best Planet Fitness that I have been to! This is not my home club but while in the area I visited 9 days and enjoyed every minute of it. You can tell the owners of this location did not hold back and opted for all of the bells and whistles. Their black card offerings are way beyond those of my home club. The amount of cardio equipment and machines that they have also. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I'm sad to leave this location and have to go back to my home club Planet Fitness which pales in comparison by far. Thank you Seaboard Planet Fitness! read more

Planet fitness is a nice gym for what i would say almost all levels. From the beginner to the near advanced I believe they have everything you need for a well rounded workout. 30 min workouts, cardio stations, dumbells and bars, machines, etc. You can spend a little time and get a great workout and not feel "threatened" by the 4 hour a day , 500 pound pumping iron people. This place is brand new and the facility itself is amazing. The cardio theater has any machine that you would want to use and the weight machines are so numerous that i can't even count them. There are also micro workout areas that focus on abs, legs and back and even a 30 minute express workout. They also have several amenities such as tanning, red light therapy and hydro-massage beds. There is typically a long wait for these but if you plan it after your workout, you usually have no problem. The locker room is also in excellent condition. Now let's get to the staff. They need to train, replace and upgrade their staff. Frequently, there is no staff member at the desk when you go to make a tanning or hydro-massage appointment. Also, the people who are there (when you can locate them) act as if it is a great imposition for them to assist you. I don't know if they are understaffed or poorly managed but I expect them to operate the desk like the concierge at a hotel. They should be pleasant, knowledgeable and available. I don't find any of these qualities in the desk staff. Also, I will say that a few things are starting to be broken or missing in the locker rooms and the tanning area. A few of the tanning beds are missing the cleaned signs and at least two are missing the headrests. This may seem like a small issue but it has been going on for weeks. The guarantee when I bought my Black Card Membership was that all facilities and amenities would be maintained in the same condition. I expect that promise to be kept. The one good thing about this gym is that you are not locked into a contract and you can exit at anytime you want. Based on their lacking skills in the area of customer service, I may exercise that option soon. read more

I travel a lot for work and have been to PFs all over the southeast. This was my least favorite. They didn't have Arc Trainers, and every cardio machine had a TV screen about 3 feet from your face. I stare at a screen all day, I don't want to do it at the gym too but they don't give you a choice in the matter. Their tanning is very complicated. I told the girl I was going to do cardio then tan. She put me in a time-slot then when I asked which bed I was in after I finished she said my time was cancelled and I had to go to a beginner level bed or wait 30 minutes. The water fountain didn't have the bottle filler like every other PF I've been to either. The tanning bed was okay but didn't have the option to turn the face tanner off. They have spray and paper towels to clean the bed but there's no trash cans in the room. Just not impressed. read more
