Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Services at Pawleys Island…read more I was looking to increase my strength and my endurance after three surgeries over two months for breast cancer and one major infection that hospitalized me for a week. I found myself very weak and not able to keep my balance well. I was fortunate enough to be able to get stronger with the Tidelands Rehabilitation Services at Pawleys Island. I cannot say enough about Danny, Jen, and Melissa. Their knowledge, kindness and professionalism got me back on stronger footing. Twice a week I came here and did not miss an appointment. I learned so much how to live a better lifestyle towards health. I listened and followed instructions. I did my homework as well. They guided me and I took part in my rehabilitation. We worked together to increase my strength and endurance. Danny is such a joy and helped me so much. She answered all of my questions in a way I could understand. Danny shared her knowledge and experience during our sessions. My work out was challenging and designed specifically for me. Each appointment went by fast. Danny's humor is so quick. I told her I think I have a bad memory but I can't remember. We laughed often during my workout. If you work with Danny you are in great hands. Jen has a smile that lights up a room. Her encouragement made me feel as if I could do anything. Jen challenged me to do my best. The workouts became a routine for continuity with rest periods in between. . The repetitions were increased as my body got stronger. Jen laughed often during the time I was there. I told her the word for one of the days was "OVERDOING IT ". We try not to do too much too soon. If you are Blessed to work with Jen bring your best! Melissa has such a big heart. She made my work outs very enjoyable. Melissa gave me a lot of help towards my healing and getting stronger. We talked about my goals and progress. My favorite line from Melissa ...." I Give you permission to walk!" I always needed that extra OK to try something or do something new. We kept laughing about that moment. Melissa went the extra mile and answered my questions about nutrition and effects of extra weight on the joints. When you are pared up with Melissa ...be prepared to learn a lot. Everyone there was so kind to me. I was treated with respect and kindness. My balance increased standing on only the left leg from 2 seconds to 15 seconds. On my right leg I can balance for a full 30 seconds when I started I only could do 3 seconds. The lap pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam rooms are fantastic and the temperatures are always at a perfect setting. They have a racket ball court as well. There are a wide variety of class offerings on their schedules at different times throughout the day, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the studio spaces are beautifully maintained and in very convenient locations. These things, in addition to the integrity displayed by the owner to reach out and personally connect with me about the strange class, are going to make it worth the time and money to take classes there. (Original Review) I had been really liking my first classes at this studio since moving from out of state, but then I attended one with Rachel H and it is making me second guess whether this studio is where I need to be spending time and money. The Real Hot 21 class I just attended was supposed to be a sequence of 21 poses and 75 minutes. We started off ok, but her vibe was off right away and then it got weirder. She snapped at people making accommodations to the poses that worked better for their bodies, she threw a small hissy when people continued to adjust. She called a 3-minute savasana in the middle (longer than makes sense), and then she shorted the sequence some poses at the end (with like 10s "savasanas" between the leg stretches). She started the final savasana 9 mins before the end, shorting the class significantly. she did not model any poses the entire class, just squatted near the door. So odd. I've been taking hot yoga sequence classes for 15 years in lots of studios and have never seen such uninspired, joyless and pedantic teaching as I did this morning. Avoid her classes if you love doing yoga.

From the first complimentary visit, I felt energized and more flexible. Subsequent visits with Courtney concentrating on my issue areas, only improved this feeling. Before, my muscles felt like rubber bands that no longer stretched. Today I feel flexible, stretchy-er and better overall. Courtney is well educated and trained. I spoke with Henry as I did not have a vehicle at the time and was struggling financially that month-he processed the cancellation. He also stated that we have makeup sessions and can use those etc. Henry never stated that though one has "makeup" sessions on file one cannot use the sessions once their membership is canceled. I was never advised this until I spoke to Angela today. Who was very disrespectful and stated didn't you read the cancellation paperwork. As you will see below it doesn't state you can ONLY use missed classes if you are a "member." It states "enrolled" and my daughter was enrolled in classes for Thursday. A second complaint is my daughter stated that the "parents night out" Glow in the dark theme was only a small glow in the dark bracelet and that that was it-nothing other than that and then played hide and seek. She also mentioned she wanted a second pizza and was told no as it's "pizza night." I am only being transparent mother for those whom want advice regarding how this company is ran. I have 6 makeups on file and was told I am unable to enroll my daughter in any classes unless I am a member. As you can see that it NOT listed in the below "Cancellation Form."
