Yesterday Bill taught the best yoga class I've ever had. Here's why it was the best. Gentle,…read moremeditative warm-up, gradual transition into poses. Bill is always teaching, softly weaving his explanations into the movements and poses. He started with Cat-Cow and creatively returned to that sequence in several advancing iterations as the class progressed. It was imaginative, interesting and my body loved the progressions. He taught a whole class once using the anatomy and physiology of the fascia as the theme, yet never "lecturing". I learned so much! He knows so much about the history and practice of yoga. This was a Level 1 class, other Levels are more advanced and active. There is a Restorative Yoga class I love, taught by Kelly. Lot of choices! The Studio is easy to get to in Burlington, with lots of parking. Staff is helpful and friendly, there's an easy atmosphere that is warm and welcoming. The studio is well-kept with large, open space. The heat is wonderful, not too much but enough to help bring a light sweat. I regularly recommend the studio to friends.

For example, the instructor greats the entire class at the end of the practice and ignores me, or ask some yogis what poses they like to do in the beginning of the class and ignores the rest of the class. Some unprofessional stuff like that which makes the place not the best to release the stresses after long day at work. Poses are very basic and not challenging even though it is not a beginner class. It seems like the instructors are there just for the money and can't wait to leave the studio, too much negative energy. The mats can be terribly smelly as well, so you better bring your own mat. The location is okay but it can get noisy from the traffic in College St. and the fire station.

She made it very obvious that she had no interest in talking with me about yoga by avoiding eye contact and keeping her back turned towards me. I was totally shocked. I've never been treated like that in a yoga studio before. The yoga: Her sequencing was OK, but her cuing and assisting made the class inaccessible. Most of her assists felt micro-managy and pokey, and her cuing made no sense. As a student, I didn't feel successful. She spent a lot of time with her back to the class. She didn't smile. She did a lot of muttering in sanskrit and it would make the class more accessible if she just ditched the dogma.

She ran full force into the side of my knee. I immediately went numb from my knee to my ankle and my knee to my hip. After gentle movement to make sure nothing was broken, I could feel something wasn't right. I called Essex PT. I had never been seen as a patient there before so expected to be put on a wait list. They got me in very quickly. Emily assessed my knee, hips, mobility, strength, etc. She gave me some targeted stretches to do each day. Emily's expertise and accurate diagnosis shortened my recovery time and had me back in the groove. I highly recommend Essex Physical Therapy. They are top notch professionals who care about their patients.

When I got out of the car I almost fainted due to pain from a pinched sciatic nerve. I was actually…read morefearful of anyone making me move. My therapist was a magician. I walked out without any pain. I have continued therapy as I am strengthening the muscles that let me down and caused the pinched nerve in the first place. I had also been diagnosed with PMR and the exercises are helping with my flexibility. I am certain that the whole body approach is the best solution for my health. As we age we lose site on how important strength and flexibility are to every day comfort and health. This will also make me stronger and my balance will improve. When she explained to me she has asked her instructor twice for a water break and she was told no. The children (my daughter is 8) have to keep water bottles outside dance room due to spillage however my daughter was told that she wasn't allowed to open the door and this was all confirmed during my discussion with the owner. So not only did they not let her have water they denied her freedom to leave the room to meet her needs. I of course un-enrolled her and suggest no parent who regards their child's SAFETY attend this studio. This owner wasn't in the least concerned about this which shows it is frequent that they deny water breaks. Not even an adult does heavy physical activity for an hour without hydration if they want to be safe. After trying to say this has never happened in 13 years the owner admitted that it's not a concern or issue that her instructor did this to young kids. The instructor admitted to denying my daughter water and denied exit of the dance room. These people do not care about the safety of your children.
