**1-Star Review - Serious Cleanliness, Maintenance, and Pest Issues at Springdale Planet Fitness off Sunset Blvd. I've been a regular member at this Planet Fitness location because it's convenient to my job, but the men's locker room and showers have become unacceptable. **Pest problem:** Over a week and a half ago, at around 4 AM, I saw a cockroach crawling all over the water filter/drinking fountain right outside the locker rooms near the main entrance. I also noticed what appeared to be roach feces on the fountain earlier this morning. With 12+ years of pest control experience, I'm confident this isn't an isolated sighting -- German cockroaches seek water sources, and seeing one in a lit, active area during early morning hours suggests an infestation with eggs likely in the walls. I immediately reported it to multiple team members and called customer service. Responses were always vague ("I'll tell the boys," "I'll generate an email," or "I'll let someone know"). Nothing has been fixed. **Bathroom and shower conditions:** The men's restroom consistently has: - Trash scattered everywhere - Strong mildew odor - Pubic hair on floors, in showers, and under sinks (same hairs visible for over a week) - Smudge marks on walls, lockers, and sinks and is very putrid The showers are even worse. Most days there is no hot water at all (confirmed by multiple other recent reviews). Specific issues I've seen repeatedly: - 4th shower on the far right: clogged drain that causes flooding - 1st shower on the left: broken faucet handle - No soap in any dispensers - Today, blood was smeared on the walls of the 3rd shower I had to cut my shower short and leave immediately due to the health hazard and ice cold water. I've seen members use the restroom and return to equipment without washing hands -- lack of soap doesn't help. This has been ongoing for months based on other member complaints. It's a multi-million dollar facility, yet basic maintenance and cleaning aren't happening. The men's side seems to get progressively worse. **Other concerns:** - Early morning shifts often have no staff at the front counter. - I've occasionally seen what appear to be homeless individuals in the men's locker room, raising safety questions about access control. - The parking lot area can feel sketchy at times (people yelling or acting erratically nearby on Sunset Blvd). I've tried giving the benefit of the doubt and reported everything politely and respectfully multiple times. Today crossed the line. I expect basic cleanliness and working facilities for my membership dues (including the recent $52 annual fee). Please address the pest issue, restore hot water, stock soap, and deep-clean the locker room/showers properly. Hire and train staff who actually follow through. In between Zoom calls, I popped out and got in a workout followed by a shower. Plenty of space at 9am on a Monday for a go on the thirty-minute circuit with all the equipment working. Arms, legs, chest, core. Yay! Afterwards, a quick shower that had enough room for my stuff and a secure place to keep things until I was done. Clean though of course I'm wearing shower shoes. One star was generous. I wish I had known how great Anytime Fitness was, I would of never gone to PF. It says a great deal how many members have switched from PF to Anytime. I can't yell this loud enough from the roof tops: RUDE RUDE RUDE STAFF. Equipment is always broken. No one is EVER at the counter past 9pm, so if you're a night-shifter and like to tan later than that: FORGET IT. Signs everywhere that state "mouth and nose covering must be worn to enter" yet they feel the need to select with mouth and nose coverings are ok/permitted and which are not. At one point I was told it was the law. ITS NOT. Kinda funny a 24/7 gym would close for holidays etc. If you want to be harassed go to this gym. If you want to simply workout and tan, go elsewhere. Trainers while giving a personal or group class start yelling at all other customers because they were using "His Area" and after that started acting very rude. To be honest, we are all in here not because the gym is the best or because they have the nicest workout complex but we just want to do our work in a peaceful/nice environment not to deal with rude employees. read more

This Planet Fitness has everything I'm looking for in an affordable gym: It's very clean, there is plenty of equipment, and there is plenty of parking. My critique of Planet Fitness is similar to that of other large gym chains: it's a pain in the rear to get out of your contract. The staff at this location has always been friendly and helpful. The equipment has always been in good working order and very clean, including the Beauty Angel and hydro massage machines. If you plan to work out with a buddy or want to work out at multiple locations, you might as well get a black card. Your black card allows you to bring a friend for free, work out at all locations, and make use of the tanning beds (but don't use those because skin cancer is bad!), Hydromassage, and Beauty Angel (which I love - Google Red Light Therapy! If you want to cancel, you have to go in in person and do it and there is a cancellation fee. Planet Fitness is a great value if you go on a regular basis. If you don't go, you're just going to rack up a monthly bill until you go in and change it. read more

This gym was clean but very crowded at the busiest time of day. I think Springdale needs another gym! I really liked the leg room in this gym. That seemed very useful and sensible. Overall a pretty decent gym with a good amount of equipment. read more

Minus Christen and all the male employees the rest of the staff lacks in customer service or talking. When they do talk they make you feel like you just killed their dog for asking how their day is. I like coming for cheap exercise but it's a dread dealing with these people. read more

There public water fountain is always having problems so you never know wether to bring water or not and if you buy it from them it's $3 a bottle. Ridiculous for a training facility. And charging for water is okay and understandable. But charge what it cost you. Don't be money hungry and make a profit off of your own inconvenience to others read more

Great place to get my grind on, exercise. The front desk always makes me feel sooo special and wanted, I wish I had a girlfriend like that. I always sing to the music being played and after the workout I like visualizing in the mirror that I'm a power ranger because I feel that fit. Clean facilities, new-er equipment...it seems like your staff isn't as friendly and helpful as they were in years past. I've actually gotten some dirty looks, blank stares and more of an 'attitude' from staff in the last couple years than ever before. It really takes the shine off my visit, unfortunate to say. But I still like working out, tanning and the other amenities that PF offers and I can usually keep my attitude upbeat. But I think you guys can do better than that. read more

Tried out a few gyms in the area, and decided to sign at this one. The hours are super convenient for pre-dawn workout-ers such as myself. Not only are they always open, but they are always staffed as well. Staff have been kind and helpful. The facility is very clean, with cleaning stations dispersed throughout the gym. They have a wide range of equipment, so it's easy to mix up workouts and avoid boredom. Their locker rooms have ample space for storing belongings, and changing areas if you're headed straight to work from the gym. With the black card, you also have access to massage chairs and tanning. They have quite a selection of drinks, in case you forgot yours at home. The only con I have found so far is they don't have free weight adjustable barbells, just Smith machines. But I've made this work, and it eliminates the crowd that likes to slam their weights down when they're done with a set. read more

Just got off the phone with the Manager Ashley and needless to say very disappointed with this business. I called the store a few month ago and asked how to cancel my membership since I moved Arizona. The person I talked to told me to mail a letter and check for 65$ to my home location before the 10th of any giving month. So thats what I did. I mailed out a check and a letter around Aug 1st thinking 9 days would be plenty time for it to get there. I was wrong!!!! They charged me a monthly rate and my 65$ so 87$ for my membership this month because they said my check didn't get there till the 15. How does a check take almost 2 weeks. Maybe cause you don't check your mail or do your invoices properly. Hmm bad business and I think Ashley needs help talking to customers and resolving issues. My check clearly states the date I sent the money and so does the envelope, but since it wasn't a certified letter I'm a lier. So now what? I put whatever date I wanted on the check. I clearly sent the check out in time to cancel. The shocker is I've been paying my monthly and haven't gone in 6 months due to forgetting to cancel it. So when I did remember I made sure it would reach there in enough time. Poor customer service and I plan to tell everyone to stay away. read more

This is the worst place. First they charge you an annual fee 6 months before your anniversary date. Then they proceed to tell you that even though they did this you still have to keep the membership for a year or pay a cancellation fee. So then you go in the last month, and they tell you that you can't cancel until the actual date you joined or they are still going to charge you a cancellation fee. You ask to see a manager, and they leave you standing there for 15 min and never come out till you get to the point you just sign their stupid form put the cancellation date down as their magic date, and come the next month low and behold they are still charging you. I have had my membership for 18 months. I like the gym, it is worth what you pay for it. But they need to train their management better and give them the power to make decisions. Either Quentin just doesn't know customer service or his employees think he has more power then he has. I have a friend that has been working out for free with me for 6 months, he wants to join. The employees keep telling him Quentin has the power to waive the joining fee, but Quentin keeps saying he doesn't. Smart business says you would rather have someone's $10 a month without the fee then get nothing. As for customer service this morning I tried to workout with my son and a friend. I asked Quentin if he could allow 1 extra guest to try it out 1 time he told me he didn't have the authority. That is sad. I have been a member at World's Gym, Gold's Gym, and the Fayetteville Athletic Club. It has never been an issue to occasionally bring someone extra. You really should train your staff on customer service and empower them to make decisions. read more
