Went to this planet fitness since the one closest to me closes early on the weekends and it was nice! The locker room was a good size and was very clean. I went around 7:30pm on a Sunday and it was not busy at all. The gym was relatively large and did not feel crowded. The employees were friendly and helped my partner and I with checking out the black card spa since it was my first visit after upgrading. I probably won't be back too often since it is a bit of a drive, but I have no complaints about this location and it's nice to know that it's another option if my local planet fitness is closed! read more

I'm genuinely disappointed by the customer service at this Planet Fitness location. Jen is consistently rude to many of the female members and frequently makes unnecessary, dismissive remarks. It's surprising that this type of behavior is tolerated, as it creates an unwelcoming environment. After being a Planet Fitness member for 16 years, I'm now considering switching to a different location or canceling my membership altogether because of the experience at this gym. Another concern is that there always seems to be a large group of employees standing behind the front desk, yet only certain members are acknowledged with a hello or goodbye. A friendly greeting should be extended to everyone. The one positive I can say is that the facility itself is very clean, and the housekeeping staff does a great job maintaining it. read more

Always clean. Busy location, so sometimes machines are out of order, but they are fixed in a reasonable time frame. Black Card services are great here. Well worth $25/month just for the hydro massage and redlight booth. Lots of options for people who need modifications for age/injury. Staff is consistent and friendly. Also, they have a giant bucket of those purple tootsie roll things and purple pens. Even though it can be a little annoying, it is actually pretty cool that they give teens free memberships during summer. Good for them to have a place to go. Showers are clean and hot. read more

Started coming here a few months ago and every single time I'm here the free weight area is littered with dudes just slamming weights down all over the place. Not one employee has even raised an eyebrow. When I hear it over my headphones it's an issue. Also the lockers are filthy. read more

Great facility my manager Nate is super rude to customers there. He was rude to me too called me dude and cancelled my membership without even telling me. I went all the way there the day after and he asked me to leave but I had paid for my membership for another 6 days. I'm not liking the new what they think are improvements. I like to use the elliptical machines and today has been the second time that they all been in use. I mentioned to the front desk that they have removed a lot of equipment including the elliptical and this is the second day there wasn't one available. She looked around and saw to open ones. I said that i'm all done with my workout and the ones that were available are the ones with the stationary arms. This was a good place to work out before the so called improvements. read more

Good setup. Lots of cardio equipment. Open 24 hours. Came to this location because it was Sunday and my gym was closed. Surprised to find half the building dieted construction, but it was still open. They have a very large cardio setup in the center of the gym, a small free weight section, an abs/ may area and a decent amount of machines. They also have a 30 minute circuit area, that they only allow use of if you are participating in the circuit workout. Love that they have several smith machines here, so you're never waiting to use one. They also have my favorite an machine. I wish they had the same glute machine they have at other locations, but that is my only gripe about this spot. Gym was pretty clean and equipment was in good shape. This location was busy when we arrived at 8:30 on a Sunday morning. Check in was a bit longer due to technology problems (Bestie has a black card membership, and brought me as a guest), but the associate apologized for the time, and eventually, everything worked out. I found a treadmill that was unoccupied and started walking. All the televisions were on, with captioning enabled, which made it easy to follow along. Bestie went about her usual workout routine, rushing from machine to machine. This location was very clean and the equipment looked well maintained; I didn't see any out of order. I really enjoy this place. It's clean, modern, has a lot of well maintained equipment and nice locker rooms. Of course, I especially love the massage chairs and aqua massage area. There are a lot of television screens so you can always zone out and watch while on a treadmill or machine. The temperature is great (especially during this crazy weather pattern we've had) - And the price can't be beat (I pay the $20/month for added access to massage machines and other PF's). The gym is spacious, clean, has workers that always greet and farewell. The choices of equipment are better than I have seen anywhere. I am a retired Army Soldier, so I have seen a lot of gyms around the World. Planet Fitness: thanks for signing up great people, keeping the place clean and equipped with sanitizer and towels. ......been going to Planet Fitness for a decade or so at various locations with Stratham, NH being my home base for a couple years now. I'm a 61 year-old educated retired male who jogs on the tread mill 3 times a week and uses a handful of strength training machines on Mondays and Fridays. Generally I wear jeans on the machine days just cuz it's easier for me not to change and I don't do any lower body exercises.......realize there is a no jeans policy but in my case they have never enforce it in the ten years I've been a member.......assuming the reason for that is I don't fit their "lunk" stereotype (too old, not pumped up). Today the front desk worker politely asked me not to wear jeans next time......don't know if this is a policy change/new emphasis or the employee just used poor judgement (I see old people working out in jeans all the time in this establishment). If they read these reviews, I'd ask management the same question offered to the clerk; What's a better policy for Planet Fitness' bottom line/image; to continue to allow senior citizens to wear jeans or having the majority of customers be inked-up, tank top wearing "lunks?" (most of people in the place).......realizing the mutual exclusivity of these two groups, the obvious answer is they need both. read more

Been without WiFi for a week! Mentioned it to the staff and they could have cared less. The staff is miserable and barely smile. I can't remember the last time I got a good morning upon my arrival or a have a nice day as I'm leaving. I've seen quite a few staff changes over the years but this crew now is the worse!!! 2 of the 4 bikes are always out of service and are down for several days. They are very popular, maybe get at least one more or newly updated would be great!!! read more

This is my favorite of the PF in my area. It's huge and has many options and plenty of equipment!! My only complaint is when I went in to pick up my actual card and "free" items I never received the t shirt or the other things that they advertise online. They also didn't show me around or introduce any of the benefits of being a black card member. I had to figure it all all by myself. I wish the staff would have been more helpful on showing me around since I've never been to a PF. read more

I started to go to the Stratham PF because they have the new SoloFit Machine. I love it! I like staying on one machine, having guidance and instruction and only have one machine to wipe down. I do like the layout of the 30 minute room, just wish there weren't so many "jump in and sitters" a little frustrating. There is a small stretch area/ab machine combo area. It can get tight especially if someone comes in with a bar with weights on it. Tons of treadmills if that's your thing. The ladies locker room is very clean. I hate gyms with a passion. I get anxiety and it's just never worked out in the past in a few other gyms. I never could get into it. My friend dragged me here a few months ago and I thought it was ok. The equipment is clean and new appearing, Matt's aren't worn out, and it doesn't have the gross grungy gym appearance and feel to it. Definitely a different attitude. The judgement free zone actually seems to be a little bit more than a lame marketing ploy. The real winner though was the 24 hours. I ended up signing up a few weeks ago and now I normally come in after Job B which is down the street normally 10pm or later. Never anymore than like 10 other people which I love. Really laid back. I enjoy the friendly banter with Mike and Sully as well. This place grew on me quick. read more

Staff is very friendly and works hard keeping the place super clean. The problem with PF is that the people in the CORPORATE office are idiots and burden the local gyms with really stupid policies etc. For example: 1. They have a very poor air conditioning system and often the place is way to hot. Gyms should be very cool, you don't want people sweating all over the place, it is gross and the sweat will damage the machines and spread skin diseases. Most people are there to loose weight, and cool temperatures help burn calories. 2. The music they play is terrible. Lots of nouveau disco and teen girly pop. I understand you can't please everybody but, the average age at this gym is about 50, it is New Hampshire, not L.A., there are almost no teenage girls, and those that do show up, listen to their own music on iPhones. How about a mix of classic rock, country, and oldies? 3. Customers are generally very good about putting weights back and wiping the machines, but there are a lot who don't. Some idiots still wear wool hats and heavy clothes to sweat, thinking this will help them loose weight, which is both stupid and gross. There should be posters etc educating these people, or they should be expelled if they don't follow the rules. 4. Some people hog the machines while talking on their iPhones etc. This needs to be addressed especially when it is crowded. read more

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! After cancelling my membership 5 or 6 months ago I got a random charge. I called to straighten it out and the person that answered told me he would have to have a "manager" call me back in the next hour. Three hours later...no call. I decided to give them another call and got the "manager" Joe. He explained there is nothing he can do unless I bring my bank statement in and my cancellation form copy. I then explained that I moved out of state and he explained there is nothing else he can do without me there in person. He then questioned who I was again, suggesting he gave me the wrong information. He also could not explain why I hadn't gotten a charge in 6 months but now did all of a sudden. His reason being that their employees and management were switched over during this time. I told him how awful customer service this was and he said okay. I recommend NO ONE sign up through this Planet Fitness location. Very unorganized and unprofessional!!! read more

This facility continues to go down hill. I understand equipment going down but not the time it is taking them to fix them. In addition to the many treadmills marked out of order there are additional machines that are unmarked that do not operate safely. Even more disturbing is just how disgusting the men's locker room and bathroom are. It is well publicized how server the flu is this season and to consistently find no paper towels in the dispensers is unbelievable. Day after day they remain out of paper. Well in truth the locker room is not out of paper being the overflowing trash cans with additional paper on the floor attest to the fact that at on time their was paper available. These are some of the reasons I had canceled my membership previously. On a positive note the staff at the front desk are much nicer and more professional than the past staff.
