The reason lifting shoes have soles that do not compress is because you really don't want any give between your feet and the floor--like lifting on a matress--it just robs you of a little more energy transfer. It also makes it hard to do micro adjustments with your ankles after you unrack the bar. But oh well. I really wanted to use the Nautilus rack--no carpet, but neither were there any hooks to hold the barbell. If they were laying around somewhere, I couldn't find them. They do not have a deadlift platform, nor do they have bumper plates. But for the most part, it was workable. It seemed pretty clean, and the weights were nicer and not mismatched, like some other AF's.

Now this place has the equipment, but it's in dire need of a renovation. The power racks have this weird bar hanger that has two positions. And when I grabbed the bar it slips forward and bothered my shoulder. I'm not sure why they're like that but they are. They are missing some bands to complete the set, and the bands that are there are broken, mismatched, and not kept up well. The entire place had their stuff recovered in this tan color which is fine, but they didn't upgrade the handles on the dip machine. The cable system is pretty best up and the weights aren't accurate at all. The 50 felt like a 25 at other gyms. The 100 like a 70. It's needing replacement. The cardio machine I used is the amt, and the right side leg has a hitch in it and needs to be serviced. Overall? I dunno, there's another anytime 10 minutes away that I will check out over this one. I just don't think I'll be back.

My biggest complaint is that the people at the front desk always act like they are too busy to even say hello, and everything is so disorganized. I had to re-signup with them multiple times because the woman who ran the counter kept forgetting to put my information into the system, and then when they finally did get it, they entered it incorrectly. Another big selling point on st Michaels for me was the fact that they offer childcare while you workout, but the woman who runs the childcare comes off as very rude and cold. I was a faithful member for about 4 months and then made the switch to Planet Fitness.

The first time I was told I was refunded and didnt get the money. The person they told me that took the money left and came back then I got sexually harassed at the gym by all the men who pretended they were doing an energy study. Two of the female workers ex followed me in the gym and I ended up going to planet fitness where again I got harassed because a worker from gym box told me to go there. Energy study turns out they put fiber in the ground and when you drive over the sensors in your car are activates car supply. I didnt know anyone and I didnt deserve to be sexually harassed everywhere in Texarkana 2019-2022 army recruiter. I paid never got a refund it didnt matter they brought it up not me I guess they hated hispanic or just the military. Watch out if you play phone games or leave phone on in the gym text can be read. A link allows your phone to be hacked dont know if a recruit hacked my phone or a worker with the scan in to the gym. I had to buy a new phone.

Man what a difference a few miles, and a state line, make for difference in gyms!…read more I went to the other anytime in Texarkana Texas and really didn't like it. But this place? This place is awesome. I'll say they have a massive place here, tons of room and they use it very well. I feel like the flow is probably the best I've seen at the anytimes I've been to. The machines are in good shape, with exception of the cardio machines. The amt's need to be replaced with the newer version that don't have the catch when using them. They only had two bikes, one of which was down. But their racks were good. Plenty of weights. For the power rack I wish it had a mirror in front of it so I could check form but that's a small thing. Two full sets of dumbbells with a wall separating them to make it easy to get around and not feel stuffy. They have a huge crossfitter room. Remember the rope from the ceiling that was the cause of huge anxiety when you saw it down in middle school? Yeah they have one. A couple rowers and the cross ski rower machine. Overall between the two this is the far superior gym, despite the cardio machines needing some tending to. I'll be back here in the morning, it's leg day best day!

One of the largest Anytime Fitnesses I've ever seen, without seeming bloated or megalomaniac, and it has new or great-equality equipment at every turn. I really enjoyed my temp-key (granted by the manager Ms. Carla herself) and will be sure to visit anytime I'm around. If I ever move here permanently this is undoubtedly going to be my choice of gym.
