So.. We decided it was time to put new granite in our house. We've used Planet Granite in our previous house and we're very satisfied. My wife an I went to the business and asked to see some granite options. We basically new the color and pattern we were looking for. They assigned us Shauna Sauer. She was pretty attentive to our needs, took notes and sent on our way with a couple of samples. We went back the following Saturday to look at the whole slabs again and maybe some other choices. We never seen Shauna again. This time they assigned us Reese Hunt. He was equally attentive and helpful that day. With both Shauna and Reese my wife and I repeated that we both wanted to be involved in picking out the slabs, so we could be comfortable with the colors and grains.So far so good. This is where things go south. I called Reese the following Monday to get things moving because we made our selection. He didn't call me back until Tuesday afternoon. I was out but called him as soon as seen the message. Once again crickets. Then on Wednesday afternoon I called and asked to speak to the manager, sales manager, someone... The receptionist said she gave a message to the sales manager. Bingo, within minutes Reese called me back. I told our selection and I'd like to get a template done, he said they would be in touch. Once again crickets. A few days later I get an appointed with the guy doing the template. Very professional, very courteous and completed the template quickly with was nice as I was having new flooring put in. He said they'd be in touch the schedule the install. A few days pass and I get a call that the Install can be don the following week and we could come in the store in 2 days to work on the template layout on the slabs. We come in on that Thursday, stand around for 20 minutes until the layout guy, I can't remember his name comes an gets us. We go to his computer and he starts lining up the virtual templates on 2 pictures of slabs loading in his software. We stopped him and said we're not to this point yet as we haven't even picked out the slabs yet. He said, sure you did and here's the pictures. We both said I don't who picked those but they were not us. He got a little irritated, and went to get Reece. Reece knew we were waiting at this guys desk, but proceeded to complete a 20-25 minute phone call. When he came over and we explained the issue, he go combative and insisted that all the slabs were the same. I said I didn't care because we repeatedly indicated WE wanted to pick the slabs not have them picked for us. He then calmed down and said he misunderstood us. Misunderstood this statement "My wife and I want to come in and pick the slabs ourself" It was spoken in English. Any we decided to see what the layout guy could do. Blindsided, and over charged. Had an appointment to get an estimate to have kitchen granite countertops deep cleaned, polished, and sealed. The expectation was just that, get an estimate, then if OK book a service date. The guy showed up on time, looked over the granite, and said he'd get started, right then. Was unable to give a quote (office will set the price after work is done). Original estimate from the office was $350-$400. In less than 15 minutes the guy was done. Sprayed the granite with something 9a cleaner?), ran a razor blade over the wet granite. Wiped the granite down. By hand, applied the liquid seal. And was done. Later the bill came in at $500. We complained, and was never offered a more appropriate price for 15 minutes of hand cleaning and sealing. read more

Unwilling to correct their mistakes and extremely unprofessional when we attempted to problem solve. We were planning on two bathrooms to renovate and Annette was initially very invested in helping us find exactly the right match. We found the perfect piece that fit our house beautifully. That is when the problems started. When it came time to sign the paperwork, the estimate soared from $1400 to over $2100, and they changed the paperwork 3x in such a rush, that they put in the wrong size and shape of sink. Not only a bait and switch, but square vs round, small vs large. (Which also added to the cost). Come installation time, the installers show up with our beautiful slab, cut for large square sinks rather than the small round sinks that were going to match the styles in the rest of the home. When we called to try to figure out the issue, the salespeople were rude and nearly shouting at us that since the paperwork said square, we were to blame. They even denied meeting me, when I went to the yard to look at slabs. Now, the only option they will give is to install the wrongly cut slab or have us spend even more money buying a new one. Will never be recommending this place to anyone doing a home remodel. read more

Hi Folks, I am updating my review, after my 2 star rating my salesman Ash, went to bat and got us in the schedule for this week. The 2 star rating I originally posted last week was based on being pushed out to 3 weeks for an install after our granite broke and couldn't be installed on the original day. Mike and Caleb who did the install today were great young men that did a good job and took extra time to make sure everything was right and that we were happy with the work. We appreciated him helping us choose the best granite for our kitchen and not trying to sell us the most expensive. We worked with Jarvis on pricing and the contract. Always available and very pleasant. Isaac came out to measure our templet and really new his stuff because the granite arrived with precision cuts and fit beautifully. I highly recommend Planet Granite! I have been remodeling my home including the kitchen and 3 bathrooms with a total of 4 vanities. My contractor and plumber don't show and have put my project 4-weeks behind which is costing me so much money. Let me tell you how incredibly accommodating and kind that Planet Granite has been to me. The kitchen cabinets I had installed are horrible, cheap, and I am having to pay for new cabinets. Planet Granite is helping me with rescheduling and re-measuring my kitchen, yet they will proceed with my bathrooms. To help me, Mac is waiving the extra fees for re-measuring and 2-different installation dates. Thank heavens as I've had no kitchen for 9 weeks or bathroom sinks/countertops in this house for over 3 weeks. Also, you should know I went to every other place in COS that sells and cuts stone countertops. Planet Granite is the only place that greeted me every time I came into the store, they answered my questions, and found out answers if they did not know the answer. Michael Smith is my salesperson, and he has been so nice a patient with my changes as well as helping me with colors as I have some color blindness. There were several times I came into the store forgetting Michael was off, yet the other salespeople still helped me. There is really a team here and honest to goodness every single time I came to the store the whole team from the front desk to the sales team were/are incredibly nice and helpful. If you want a pleasant experience with knowledgeable and professional people to help you when you are spending thousands of dollars, I suggest you go to Planet Granite. The individual (darn forgot his name) that came to measure the bathrooms and kitchen (we will be remeasuring when I get the 2nd new cabinets) was very nice, professional, and helpful. I had a 9×4 sq.ft. slab installed today. For starters, there has been contractors in and out of my home since I moved in. Other than the general contractor, I have not met any "help" that I've felt comfortable having in my home. Today, your crew (Isaac, Otha? and two other gentlemen) arrived to install the granite slab. Not only was I comfortable with having them in my home, they were extremely professional and overall good conversationalist. They explained the install procedure, care instructions and helped me with future granite decisions. My husband and I just moved to Colorado Springs so we did not know what company to use for our granite counter tops. This review is not about the quality of the final product because we never got that far. The woman that came over to measure was just very snooty. Out of the three contractors we had come and measure, this company was the least friendly. I figured I would still use them regardless if the price was right, however, they also ended up being the most expensive. I would get quotes from other companies. read more

Though we are pleased with the countertop we finally ended up with from Planet Granite, it's a shame it took a negative review on Yelp to get it. There's an odd Third-Worldish feel to this company, like dealing with the DMV, only more expensive. A complicated scheduling process, lack of direct access to managers (who don't even have their own phone lines), an inefficient system for dealing with customer's problems, and poor QA upon installation make it a frustrating experience we wouldn't want to repeat. We did appreciate the Sales Manager's responsiveness once our issue reached his attention, the fair solution he offered, and the timely service he provided in the end. read more

Service and product was good. Timeliness was disappointing. Before we signed the contract, we asked how long it would take from measure to install and the salesman said 2-3 weeks. We were happy with this time frame so we signed the contract and processed payment. However, actual time from measure to install was 5 1/2 weeks. Admittedly, we did have to sign a waiver since we were having our floors done while the granite was cut. However, the salesman waited a week before sending this waiver. After signing the waiver (same day it was received), we were contacted three days later to schedule the install. The first available appointment was then four weeks later. We would have gone with another company that was delivering product within 2-3 weeks, but if we canceled our order, they would have charged us a 25% restocking fee. read more

My three stars is because their installers did a great job on the granite and install itself, but put a hole in my dry bar wall from placing the granite over my counters and didn't even repair or bother to say anything. Planet Granite My wife and I wanted to upgrade the look and quality of our 12 year old kitchen island from granite tile to a cut slab granite top. We shopped around and selected Planet Granite because of their selection and customer service. Stephanie was our sales and design consultant. She took the time to walk the granite yard and indoor warehouse on three different occasions until we were sure we were selecting the correct slab for our project. The price was very competitive so we added a vanity top to our guest bathroom. The customer service did not end with Stephanie, during the pre-planning and installation we worked with 4 different employees of Planet Granite, they were professional, maintained a clean work area and took the time to explain how to maintain our new granite tops. The negative comments on Yelp are 1-2 years old, we did not experience any of those negatives. All in all we were very pleased with our experience and would recommend Planet Granite and will use them again when we are ready to upgrade our master bathroom. read more

The only reason this review is a 2 star instead of a 1 star is that the two counter tops I ordered are nice and look great where they are installed. However, granite is a rock and it's a commodity. You can get it anywhere. Given that granite is granite is granite, my strong recommendation is to deal with a company that actually wants you as a customer. Planet Granite does not want you as a customer and they make it very clear that YOU are lucky they are selling you product. How backward is that? The purchase of our granite went well. But, the salesman told us that the counter tops would be 2-3 weeks out. That is incorrect. It is 2-3 weeks to template them and then anywhere from 2.5 weeks to several months out to actually have them installed. We were very specific when we purchased the granite about the design we wanted. When the man came out to template, he told my husband that he wanted to do it another way. My husband agreed to change it and then, guess what, we need to buy more granite. No, I said, we're going back to the original plan. In all of the back and forth, I left voicemail messages with several people who never returned my calls and I spoke to people who said they would call me and didn't. Several weeks later, my assigned install time comes and goes. I call the scheduler, Sean (who was very professional at all times), and he has no idea where the installers are other than they should have already been at my house. About five minutes later, the installers call and tell me they are 10 to 15 minutes from my house. They finally show up 30 minutes after the new time they gave me. They were pleasant enough though one of them kept grousing about leaving and that he was "done" with his job. One of the other installers kept asking if he was quitting. So, that was unpleasant to hear as a customer. The day they were installing, I had numerous other contractors working and I was trying to keep track of all of them. I realized I hadn't seen PG in awhile so I went to look for them. I noticed that there were large globs of caulk all over my new counters and the installers are gone. Completely gone. Not a word to me, they have just left. And, they've left my counters a big mess of globs of caulk. And, the caulk is a bright white. It looks terrible. I was not happy so I called Planet Granite. The first person I spoke to said I needed to talk to my original sales rep, Ash. I spoke to Ash and his response was that PG is so busy and has so many customers that the installers aren't going to be on time. That it's not their fault if they are running late. Then, he tried to tell me that they took 45 minutes to get to my house after telling me it would be 10 to 15 because their GPS gave them the wrong time. That is ridiculous because if their GPS was that wrong, then call me. I know they have cell phones with them. Two of them were on their cellphones in my house so they clearly know how to use them. And they can't call me to say they are going to be late? But, then, it gets even better. Because Ash said that when Planet Granite installers are done installing, they just leave. They don't inform the homeowner that they are leaving because "it would take too much time." He reiterated four or five times in our conversation that PG has so many customers and so many installations each day that they can't possibly work a minute or two longer and say, "We're done, doesn't it look awesome." Nevermind that mine did not look awesome because it had all of these globs of caulk all over. When I complained that the white caulk looks terrible with the very dark granite, Ash informed me, as though I was a child, that it would dry clear. That would have been useful information for the installers to tell me. But, instead, they just left. And, don't treat me like a child. I've had other granite installed and they used appropriate-colored caulk for the stone. So, why should I assume that white caulk meant it was clear? No matter what I said, Ash's response was that they are just so busy they don't have time. He also went out of his way multiple times to point out that my order is very "small". Okay, so I ordered 80% of the stone in my house from a company in Denver because Planet Granite doesn't carry the kind I wanted for my kitchen. Does that mean I get "small" service from Planet Granite? Ash did offer to send someone out to clean up the globs of caulk they left all over the baths. But, by this point I was so done with them that I demurred. It would only take me 15 minutes to clean vs. having to wait on someone who would be late. It wasn't worth my hassle. At the end of the day, the commodity I purchased is acceptable. But, the service in getting that commodity is not. If you're in a commodity business, all you have to set yourself apart from everyone else selling that commodity is your service and Planet Granite fell flat on their face. In the future, In future renovations, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Granite countertops installed on time, precisely measured, and they are absolutely beautiful! In addition, there was no dust or mess left anywhere. This is the third time I've used them, and they've done a great job all three times. While their reputation is of first-class service and correspondingly high prices, when we did some comparison shopping, we found that the timelines and prices were all pretty much the same. Dealt with Ash, who handled all the scheduling and walked with me through the yard to inspect slabs, with no hurry or pressure. He certainly knew all about the product - granite v. marble v. quartz v. Corian, and about the pros/cons of different kinds of granite (much of the cheaper granite is actually tougher and less prone to cracking than the more exotic stuff). read more

Planite granite isn't so great. We ordered our granite and it cost about $4500 which I understand is pretty typical. The only comparison price we got was with Costco which was essentially the same price. The granite came and it was cut wrong so instead of taking about 4-5 hours to put in they had to come back later that day with a new piece to finish the job. That was pretty inconvenient for us since we have 2 toddlers and we need to keep them away while the job is being done. Another problem was with scratches and damage of the granite they did put in. There were about three areas that needed to be buffed, sanded, sealed, or whatever. They were pretty slow to come back to fix these imperfections. It seems like once they have your money and are pretty much done with the job then they forget about you. Like I said, in general things were OK with them, but if I had to put in granite again I'd probably try another granite place. read more

UPDATE: Upon becoming aware of the difficulty that I experienced with the hole that was drilled to the incorrect size in my vanity top, Planet Granite immediately contacted me and made it right. They were extremely apologetic for the issue that I experienced and went above and beyond to insure that I was completely satisfied with all aspects of their work. I was already happy with the product, now I have to say that the customer service that I experienced with Planet Granite is second to none. My first visit to Planet Granite did not leave me with warm fuzzies but then again, neither was my first visit to most tile stores in town. I was tired of trying to decide whether I should go with granite or granite tile when I found Planet Granite. When I entered, I saw a receptionist desk with no one there and I didn't see a sign to tell me it was ok to walk through the next doorway where I saw people standing around. I wandered around for a little bit and it took a few minutes before I was approached by a helpful salesperson. At this first visit, I was never told that remnants were available, I was told that a couple of days later when I decided to call them back for more information. From that phone call forward, though, with Erin, the customer service more than made up for my off-putting initial contact with the company. Erin was very helpful and patient and listened. I mentioned how much I loved a granite I had seen and within a couple of minutes, located a piece on the computer listed remnants. From sales, to purchase, to measuring and installation, I have been extremely happy with Planet Granite. Every person along the way was helpful and understanding. They are very professional, take a great deal of pride in their jobs and stand behind their work with a great warranty, too. My granite is perfect due to their attention to detail. The day they installed it, my patience had been worn to paper thinness, yet they were sweet and thorough placing the granite perfectly. Will definitely buy from them again if I get the chance!!!
