My wife went to get her hair cut and then when I picked her up, she was so thrilled with her haircut, she dragged me inside to get mine cut. I got an excellent cut from Jamie. I've been looking for someone around the area...you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find someone that excels at cutting men's hair, even at barbershops. I'll definitely be back. And here's my wife's impressions: I had the best haircut experience of my life (no hyperbole) with Graham. He spent at least 20 min talking to me and making sure he understood what I wanted and how I work with my hair every day, because I was so nervous after getting bad haircut after bad haircut elsewhere (okay, not bad just nothing like I wanted). After he started cutting, he seemed like he was really enjoying working with my hair and in general made me feel like a million bucks. My hair turned out amazing, even better than I had hoped. I have been going to Jesse for a while and she color weaved the top of my hair to match my natural silver color underneath. She did a good job until the last time I went in! It was Yellow!! My husband asked me if I had her dye it blonde! When I went in my room and turned the light on I was almost in tears. I couldn't see it very good at the salon because of the lighting and you're so far from the mirrors. It looked Horrible and my underneath was still silver! When I went back to talk to her she wouldn't admit that she had done anything wrong or different. Just told me to wash it with purple shampoo and then told me I needed a toner!! I spent $195 to have Horrible yellow color weaved hair and that's what she told me and walked off! When I called to get a toner put on and ask how much she said it was $50! When I gave her my name she said Jesse said to do it for $30. That just showed she knew she messed my hair up but wouldn't admit she did! Will Not ever go back to her! I'm not happy. The cut I wanted, the cut I brought in a picture of, was not what I received. I'm not asking for miracles, I just wanted my hair to resemble the photo in length and style. It doesn't. I fucking hate it. It's too short in the back one side of my head has longer strands of hair that stick out while the other side is cut close to the skull. I had a wonderful experience here. My stylist, Jamie, was excellent, as I'm sure all the stylists are. I loved the welcoming environment from the minute I stepped in. I got exactly the haircut I wanted (I brought in a photo...this is the best way to guarantee a good haircut anywhere), and Jamie was very receptive to what I wanted and my suggestions. The entire staff seemed friendly and talkative, a great quality in a stylist. The price was very reasonable for the service ($30-40), and the Aveda product selection was excellent. I liked that they had off-street parking, which is a blessing in downtown Wichita. I'd highly recommend this salon for your styling needs! read more

They treat you well here, you're greeted with a smile and give a drink. {Also, about halfway through my appointment, I was offered a beverage again and was brought some yummy coffee just the way I like it!} Suzie was amazing. She really listened to what I wanted and made it come to life. I have gotten so many compliments on my new hair color. This was my first time at Planet Hair, and I've never been this happy with my final look in a long time! I just moved here from California and I was a little worried at first 'cause I had no idea where to go with my emergency hair needs. But I found Katherine ---- and she made me look good! Like real good. Haha! I did a pink/magenta ombre today and I didn't want anything too drastic and bright, and Katherine knew exactly what I was talking about. It came out better than I imagined! I've had many bad experiences with many hairstylists but the day I walked in Planet Hair that all ended. I met Jamie and this girl knows what she's doing. They excel in hair coloring and pamper you like none other. The price may be a tad more than you are used to paying but for quality service I would rather pay once for a great service instead of paying multiple times for the stylist to get it right. I don't usually leave reviews of places but I was so unimpressed with this place that I felt the need to say something. I had never been here before and I am NOT going back. First of all, I get that hair salons charge a lot for what they do but I paid almost $300 to get my hair colored. What a rip-off. Second, I asked my stylist to dye my hair back to its natural color of blonde (after years of bleaching and dyeing it blue/green/purple/whatever myself), and she dyed it a DARK BROWN. I asked for a dark BLONDE, I would even accept a lighter brown, but now as my hair has grown you can see that my roots are obviously LIGHTER than the hair I now have. When I said something about the darkness of the color after, my stylist said something along the lines of "oh it's summer, your hair will lighten up." I work two jobs- I have no time to get outside and have the sun lighten it up, that was HER job to do. Lastly, I would have given this a zero star rating if possible, but the one star is deserved because I asked the stylist to color the underside of my hair blue and purple and she at least did that right. I do NOT recommend this place. My stylist didn't listen to me, she didn't seem to care that I wasn't satisfied with the result, and the price was outrageous. read more

First time here, all I can say is WOW. I loved everything about it, at first I thought maybe this was a little to "high end" for just my t-shrit and jeans dress but that wasn't the case. Everyone was very friendly and the service was great. Started off with an oil head and neck massage, then off to a shampoo followed by a hot towel treatment(included in all men's hair cuts) then the hair cut it's self, I have a more sensitive scalp then others and this hair cut didn't hurt at all. I went there for a color correction, I had gotten my hair done at another salon and it didn't work out. I asked for the picture on the left, and got a very patchy blonde. I'm not sure how they are even close to being similar??? I had to come back the next day so she could fix it, she put a toner on and sent me off. It was still not what I wanted, but it was better than before. It faded in four days, the last picture was the result of that and my hair is completely fried. Now my hair is back to a disgusting, unwanted blonde. Overall just a waste of money, I definitely would not recommend. read more

Pretty pricey but they do a really good job. Plus I feel like they take their time with it. All I did was cut my hair but my hair stylist washed my hair and styled it along with cutting it. Maybe that's why it was so expensive? Lol but service was A class. She made me feel important even though what I needed done was fairly simple and not a high paycheck for her or the salon. I still really appreciate her attentiveness when it came to my hair. My hair looked flawless by the time she was done. I was going from having hair so long I could sit on it to hair short enough to rest on my shoulders. I'm glad I visited this salon and I'll definitely be back. I wish I could tell you the name of my stylist but it's been awhile so I completely forgot her name. I moved to Wichita about eight months ago and was hesitant to let anyone work on my hair. I asked around and heard Planet Hair suggested several times. I decided to give it a try. I have mid back length light brown hair and I was wanting to go to a dark brown with a purple tint. I walked in on a Tuesday night to make my appointment for the following Saturday. The woman who made the appointment for me was very helpful and pleasant. Saturday came around and I was extremely nervous but excited for the new change. I arrived to my appointment and met my stylist Julia. She was very pleasant and personable. When I told her what I was wanting to have done, she was immediately on board and excited to take it on. She pulled hair swatches and we spent several minutes talking about what would look best on me. After the dying process was complete, she began to style my hair.
