I can't believe I'm reading bad posts about this place, sometimes people just don't communicate well enough with their stylist and then the stylist takes the bad rep from it. I have been going to Blake for years--never had a single complaint. We usually sit and talk for 5-10 minutes at the beginning of the appointment just to make sure both of us are on the EXACT same page as to what I'm looking for. Yes, sometimes I come in with dark brown hair asking to go blonde again and he does communicate that it will take stages to get back to where I want to be so that my hair doesn't end up completely damaged in the process. Guess what--my hair is healthy. Always. And through the stages it always looks good. I would so much rather spend a little more time getting back to where I want to be and have healthy hair than to do it all at once and end up with the stringy split-ends you see on a lot of girls that do the radical color changes all at once. Blake has helped me keep my hair this healthy through my mood swings/hair changes. :) I've also seen him do wonders with my mother's hair after I referred her to him. She has breast cancer and has lost her hair twice, so the hair she has now is her third "set" of hair. She struggled a lot time with trying to manage it and make it not look like "dirty dishwater" but without using too many chemicals to get there. Blake did highlights with a natural product one time, and two years later they still look great! He continues to cut/shape her hair and she has never been anything but pleased when she leaves there. First impression, Fringe is a gorgeous salon from the moment you walk up to the entry doors clear through the salon back to the adorably decorated bathroom. Jenny that's up front is always super friendly and helpful! Even the owner Jesi has assisted me with questions and is super nice! I go to Kendi, I started following her on Instagram in the Spring and loved seeing all of her beautiful and vibrant hair art. From classic color services to shaved designs, she rocks! I have gone to her several times now for cuts, wax, and balayage. She is the B E S T! One thing I really love (besides my hair and my awesome stylist) is that I always hear talk of the classes they attend, continuing their education on up to date color techniques, products, etc. THAT In it self says something. You have to grow with the times and at Fringe, they do! I have had my hair messed up more than a few times at other places so it's a nice change to go in and ask for something and trust that if we can't get it that day, I will have what I want within a few visits. You've got to have realistic expectations. I have been completely satisfied with Fringe & Kendi since my very first visit. I'm pretty particular when it comes to my blonde hair. I've had many bad experiences when we move to a new area. Finding someone I love is always scary. I stumbled across Fringe when we were grabbing a bite to eat. I walked in, talked to the owner and told her what I was looking for. She immediately said I know who you'd love. She put me with Lauren and I've been going to her since. We moved here from Japan and let's just say blonde hair isn't Common in Japan, so I needed some work. I was so excited to find someone great at blonde my first try in Wichita. Lauren is fabulous and the salon staff is so friendly and accommodating. I LOVE Fringe! Kendi does my hair, but as soon as I walk through the door, I know it's going to be a good time. The front desk person will snag you a drink if you have a couple of minutes to spare before you go back to the chair. Everyone in there is so kind and can give you a good laugh while they are at it. Kendi has worked MAGIC on my head, taking it from a dark brown to a white blonde! I've been able to schedule my hair out every 10 weeks with her and it still looks good after all the growth (hair grows super fast). I've never kept my hair this long before, but it's never been fried from the blonde and it is always so soft and smooth when I leave! read more

I was fortunate to be placed on Heather's schedule and she has not disappointed me since my very first visit! She takes the time to discuss my "wants/ expectations" yet she is honest with providing me her knowledge on what I can / or should not do with my hair. If you are looking for a cheap hair salon this is not it, but if you care about your hair and are willing to spend the money, give them a try as I don't believe you'll be disappointed! I LOVE this place. The stylists, and nail artist are the BEST. They are always so helpful and make me look gorgeous. My hair stylist is Lauren. She always makes me feel like a million dollars when I am walking out. I wanted a stylist who just got me and that I exactly what Lauren is. She is fun to talk to while you are getting your hair done. Catherine is their nail artist and artist is exactly what she is. This lady always makes my nails look like they are instagram worthy. Being new to Wichita I was faced with the daunting task of finding a new hairdresser. After trying one at a different salon and not being very satisfied, I found the perfect person in Michelle at Fringe! I have gone 3 times now and have been very happy each time. She's quick without making you feel rushed and listens to what you are wanting giving helpful suggestions along the way. I fell in love with the atmosphere of this salon from day one. The staff are always so friendly and fun and make you feel great. I usually walk in there lookin like poop cause I don't do anything with my hair but always walk out looking and feeling like a million bucks. My stylist Alicia is sweet and really knows what she's doing. You give her an idea of what you want (even if it seems insane) and she does what she can to get you there without risking the integrity of your hair. Definitely my favorite salon in town. read more

I've always gotten great service here. They are very professional and welcoming- asking if they can get you a water or coffee, etc. The owner (or manager, not sure) Jenny is great- so friendly and outgoing. I see Mariah, and have been with her for about a year and she's a great listener who wants to give me the look I want. She also did a great job on my nails- the shellac that I'm usually too scared to get. I found this salon when I was in a bad spot with my hair and an event days away. Shelby absolutely exceeded expectations. I no longer live in town and now make a point to get on her books for a root touch up and balayage when I come back to visit. The salon is very clean and anyone who has been at the front has always been wonderful to me. I can't recommend this salon or Shelby enough and I always leave her chair with a huge smile and feeling like a new person. read more

I have been to quite a few fancy salons in Wichita. Honestly, I go to fringe because they provide great service. Their staff is very knowledgeable of their products and provide proper counseling on hair color and techniques. Their scheduling makes your life easier and they are pretty good at making you feel welcome. My stylist Blake is pretty awesome.
