Overpriced, mid-tier pizza. Can't believe paid 66$ for a pizza, beef roll, and a dozen boneless…read morewings. Prefaced with I've never been to Illinois till earlier this week, ergo unaware of quality and what restaurants people will keep going through patronage, I have spent the last few days checking out restaurants on Yelp. Noticed this was a surprisingly highly rated spot, even though the photos didn't look that great. Through ordering online , placed an order for a small pan pizza , not realizing (isn't listed on their website) that adding any toppings is 1.25$ more each; like a 23$ small pizza. It appears the pizza had its toppings put after the sauce, and cheese on top, leaving an unsatisfying appearance and feeling I would've needed to order "extra cheese" to get a normal pizza. The exterior of the crust was hard, like baked too high of a temp for too long, and crunched like a cracker with the dough being dense and flavorless. The "beef roll" appeared to be their small dough folded over into a 12"x8" rectangle and cut into 1"x3" long pieces , and dusted with an Italian seasoning. Thin shaved beef inside, opted for pepperoni in it too. It was alright, again the crust put me off, the au jous that comes with it was watery and bland, and for 20.50$, felt like an overpay. Personally I like getting boneless wings with pizza, so opted for a dozen of those for us. Limited flavors , went with "hot", which was no hotter than Franks red hot. If they were fried, they steamed inside their foil and styrofoam container, and were received soggy and soft. Nothing noteworthy on taste or experience there.. beyond the 16.75$ charge, making each quarter-sized piece like 1.40$ each All in all impression: overpriced. I wouldn't go back, and if this is the best rated pizza in town, think I won't be going out for pizza around here the duration of my trip, least it be overpriced for mediocre food again.

I think they closed, we both got food poisoning. Won't let me leave NO STARS, or I would.read more

So... this specific Pizza Hut is very hit-or-miss…read more In my experience, if you place a delivery order for one medium pizza on a Friday or Saturday evening, good luck. Most of the time, the DoorDash driver assigned to the order, since Pizza Hut uses DoorDash for delivery now, ends up sitting at the restaurant for a long time waiting. I've had drivers update me along the way saying things like, "I don't know what's taking so long, the phones keep ringing and nobody is answering them." After all that waiting, there have been multiple times where the pizza finally arrived and it was the wrong order. I've tried calling the store, but remembering what the driver said about the phones not being answered, I've had to drive over there a few times just to get the correct pizza. When I got there, I saw the same situation: delivery drivers waiting, phones ringing nonstop, and one employee in the back trying to handle everything alone while the counter and phones were mostly being ignored. One time, I stood at the counter for about 30 minutes with the wrong pizza, which was already room temperature by then, before I could even explain why I was there. When I finally told the employee what happened, she said they had accidentally switched two orders, and the other customer had already come back and picked theirs up. At that point, I just wanted the pizza I actually ordered: a medium pepperoni with extra pesto/basil sauce. It took about another 20 minutes, with the phones ringing the entire time, before I finally got my replacement. By then, it had been about an hour since I received the wrong order, which was already late in the first place. Because of experiences like that, I try not to order from this Pizza Hut unless I really have to. If Domino's had that pesto/basil sauce as a topping, I'd probably just order from there instead. But something about that sauce keeps dragging me back, so apparently I enjoy being annoyed every now and then. LOL. I'm not sure how things are Sunday through Thursday, but on Friday and Saturday evenings, I'd be prepared for long waits, unanswered phones, and possible order mix-ups. Maybe if the stores GM hired a 2nd person for the kitchen on their busy days this wouldn't be such a regular thing. (Fri/Sat/Sun)
