When Planet X was a hole in the wall mom and pop on 27th, it was a great shop with affordable prices and great service. But since legalization, they've moved into a bigger shop on the main shopping strip in Spenard. They've expanded their offerings of hooka supplies, pipes, rolling papers, candles & incense, scales, and additives SIGNIFICANTLY. But their prices have skyrocketed and their service is absolutely garbage. When we went in, their were 3 cashier behind the counter and 2 customers. We waited for 10 minutes and no one acknowledged our presence, even after attempting to get help. Another woman who was trying to check out was also expressing her frustration. When we did finally get help, the dude was not very helpful. I was going to buy some incense to supplement my partner's order, but by this point we had been there about 20 minutes and I was extremely irritated so I walked out so I didn't start saying things I regret. They will not EVER get my business again. Idk about my partner, but when I saw his receipt I felt he could have been charged significantly less and been in and out in 5 minutes in many other stores in town. It's a big NO for me. read more

Sold me a scale that didn't work. It would say "low bat" and turn off within seconds on turning on. I brought it in, it did the same thing with new batteries at their counter. They told me no returns. Sorry bud. 30 bucks up in smoke. Low integrity shit in my view. Out of principle I would never give them business. read more

I've been vaping since I started to quit smoking, maybe five years ago. I've tried a lot of different products, ranging from JUUL, Elfbar, various sophisticated and expensive custom setups (owned by other people), and many other disposable ones that I have habitually purchased in the interim. Wednesday night I showed up about 15 minutes before Planet X closed up shop (11:45 PM), to purchase another nicotine dispensing vape. In the 15 minutes that followed, Jordan (working the counter alongside another helpful salesperson) was able to educate me about vapes, how they work, and what to purchase. He sold me a device that I have been using for the past couple of days, and about which I am extremely happy. In the long term, he has saved me a lot of money, drastically reduced my contribution to our worldwide plastic waste problem, and taught me everything I need to know for future purchases. Hooray for Planet X! They moved out of their old smaller spot into a much bigger space with tons of options for everything head shops. Not only will you find whatever you're looking for; if you aren't looking for anything, this store is fun to wander around in. I'm not personally a fan of THC (though good for you if you are!) but I have trouble sleeping. CBD makes a huge difference for me. They have edibles, capsules, prerolls and flower - all CBD and all good prices. The customer service is great, especially when Naomi is working. Everyone there is knowledgeable and attentive, and they don't mind at all when you stop in just to browse. read more

Purchased products to pass a hairstrand test, purchased 2 different products to pass and neither one worked. I do not recommend them as there products don't work, staff is uninformed on products, they do not offer a gaurentee on the products they sell or money back, because they know it doesn't work and they are selling inferior products to the general public... read more

This place is seriously overpriced. I bought 2 packs of shisha and 2 packs of cigarrettes came out to $50. I bought the same shisha on amazon last week's for $7/piece instead of $15. They guy that helped us was friendly. He let us take our time and smell each flavor. It's so hard to buy local when the have a 50% or more mark up. read more

I don't know where these people got the idea that they were a vapor lounge or had any more knowledge on this area than their small selection. I walked into the store, it was dark and cluttered. The girl who worked there looked barely old enough to know how to use a lighter; she was timid and antisocial which made it hard to feel welcome and added a certain hostility to the environment. I stood there looking through their menus, 5 minutes went by and I wasn't offered any suggestions or help. I was interested in two of their flavors and asked if I could sample them. Either she wouldn't let me use a battery to sample or they don't lend them out like most vape shops, therefore bringing your own is probably the best option. I had my mod and when she did speak she asked if the mod I was holding is mine. I was offended by that, I was standing there for all that time and she didn't notice. Anyway, they don't let you drip either. I asked to sample the flavors that appealed to me and she said she wouldn't open them or I had to purchase them. Horrible business, but what could anyone really expect to get from a head shop but their better selling products. They are definitely in it for the money, $30 for a 30ml bottle of juice, thats almost twice what you would spend at any other shop. I left and wasn't acknowledged when I told her to have a nice day, its kind of Ironic that there is a sign on their front door that warns against discrimination of various sorts, but I wasn't shown an ounce of respect, shame on you. read more

Friendly staff, but a shitty return policy. I bought a vaporizer here. Saw a sign that said no returns on atomizers and a few other items, but vapes weren't listed. When I left, I found the same vape for $100 less online. I try to buy local, but a $100 difference is a lot. I called back and the clerk told me that if it was in the box still, he could refund me. Went back, he tried, but the computer system wouldn't let him (he was a new employee). He called the owner who told him that they won't do refunds, only store credit. The clerk made his case that the box was still sealed and the purchase was made 10 minutes earlier, but the owner didn't care. This whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. The owner clearly only cares about making money. Funny thing is, if he had just done the return, I would now be a loyal customer and would have spent much more in the future at his shop. Instead, I am writing a bad review and will be taking my business elsewhere. My overpriced vape works great, so hopefully that will be the last time I have to deal with them. read more
