I was very nervous coming into this clinic because the reviews are overwhelmingly love letters to a rude receptionist. I was able to get an appointment over the phone within an hour. I came in and everyone at the front desk was very kind and helpful, took the time and care to get me the best options with my insurance and got me back to see the provider pretty quickly. Once I was in the exam room the first nurse and the provider were sweethearts and made sure all of my questions were answered and concerns touched on. Booked an appointment online for 1 and when I showed up they said I never had an appointment even though I had email confirmation. They double booked people and waste your time. The front desk girls obviously don't know what the hell they're doing. They try to make you feel wrong for their own mistake. Walked in to pick up some generic Plan B (this location carries E-Contra Levonorgestrel) for my friend since she's at work and it's so overpriced at regular stores. Super quick transaction and no judgement at all, the woman at the counter also included a paper bag to keep it in. I'm not sure why she needed my ID at all since it was a small purchase paid with credit card, so if they check ID for this type of purchase then it may be an issue for minors who need affordable and accessible options. I called to ask the price and brand of the medicine before I drove here so I recommend calling and asking any questions before dropping by. Super friendly phone operators, short wait. They take all PP calls within Sacramento and directly contact the specific location you'll be visiting for you if you have questions about what that location offers, so you won't actually be directly speaking to the people who work at the location. Parking is at the front rather than the back like the map sends you to, but it's not attention-grabbing. Easy parking at the front, surrounded by a few other businesses. There's parking space at the back but it's likely full and taken up by employees so that the front parking is available for patrons. read more

Every time I come to this location the front desk people always has some kind of attitude. No care about the service I came for and they speak to me as if I'm stupid. I go to many of the locations in Sacramento but Franklin is the only one closest to me. Never have I ever been talk down to at any of the other ones. And these people are such scammers, the downtown location can provide free plan b through the insurance even if it's a walk in they simply call the insurance and make you wait a few minutes. This location doesn't even do that and they say that they're not even suppose to do that only by appointments. I call an operator to confirm and it's a total lie. First and foremost, I do not support planned parenthood at all.. ESPECIALLY THIS ONE. Why? Im a Los Angeles native and I recently moved here to Sacramento 4 months ago. I had a Pap smear screening last year with my OB/GYN in LA & it came back abnormal. Told me to give it a year, usually the body is strong enough to fight off the bad cells. Fast forward one year later, my insurance still hasn't transferred over to this county so I called and made an appointment with this clinic for my next Pap smear . From the beginning I was given attitude by the lady in the front desk, like she judges everyone walking in that place. I had my Pap smear done along with a "women wellness"(std, sti testing)and waiting anxiously for 5 weeks now and still no call on my results. Finally I decided to call them and ask about my results and the woman on the other end said "no yeah you're good negative HPV".... So I'm good no stds no abnormal cancer cells I'm assuming. One month later my insurance finally calls and I'm able to get a primary. I schedule with a primary and just to be sure I got ANOTHER Pap smear done.. because I didn't trust planned parenthood and her response AND the fact that I had to call for my own results. Anyways, I recently got a call from my OB/GYN confirming that my Pap smear DID come back abnormal but negative for HPV. So the dumb ass woman reading my results assumed that because I came back with a negative HPV that means I have no cancer cells right? All 3 of the Pap smears I've had done came back negative for HPV but it still comes out as abnormal with a low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion. This clinic was prepared to allow me to be left untreated and taken care of . Cancer runs in my family, so we do not take our health lightly. I'm 25 years old, I have a life to live and this abortion clinic is only good for handing out pills and condoms. Pathetic. If you must go, I'd pick a different one, I'm sure they've given out tic tacs instead of the pill on "accident". read more

The receptionist on the left was very kind and helpful, with an uplifting attitude towards myself and everyone who came in after me. The nurse practitioner was great, also very kind, with an unbiased nonjudgmental attitude. Cannot say the same for the MA, Nydia who roomed me. I had my 2 boys with me, who are quite a handful so giving her the benefit of the doubt I understood some of her frustration. But I do sincerely believe that women/men like her do not belong in environments like this. She wore her opinions on her face which also reflected in her overall attitude towards me. Personally if you can't handle the circumstances of your workplace or the services they provide in all aspects, then get another job. read more

Jenn (Jenifer) was super duper awesome! She was very friendly and calm and made me feel super comfortable around her. I felt safe trusting her with my information & care. I usually go to the location on B street. I would make an appointment every time I went but I would still have to wait LITERALLY 2 hours everytime. It was ridiculous. Plus I'd be in the room alone for 30 mins after my 2 hour wait in the waiting room, just to wait for the doctor in the patient room. I went to the Franklin BLVD location once because they had an earlier appt time available. I was shocked to hear my name called 5 mins after I sat down. While we were waiting for the doctor, the nurses utilized my wait time to start pre-work (urine sample etc.) I went back out to the lobby after I gave my sample, then 5 mins later my name was called again! If you've never been to the B street location, you have no idea how impressive this is. The staff is SUPER thorough in asking questions and collecting information. The nurse practitioners are truthful and informative. This is my home location for women health now. I highly recommend this location. read more

Absolutely unacceptable! My appointment started at 11:20a they took people who had 11:30a appointments before me. I wasn't asked from the waiting room until (11:55am) After giving personal information several tedious times, sharing a urine sample and undressing from the waist down, a supervisor walked in and refused service. Saying I was aggressive towards her staff. Never cursed anyone or hit anyone just confused as to what the initial phone interview for if I would have to come do it all again in person. Everything felt degrading, the nurse was just screaming medical history and information at the top of her lungs and I sat 2ft a way from her. She pointed out a device that she claimed wouldn't hear the conversation and she informed me that that's just how she talks which was totally dismissive of my privacy concern. The supervisor lied and said my phone interview didn't go well and refused me service. I was at the dentist getting an extraction and they called me 30 mins early. Definitely some discrimination going on. Said her staff came to her crying, my Mother is a RN, she's been working ER half my life one thing I know for sure, you have to have tough skin to work in the Medical field. Overall poor handling and unprofessional. Do not go here melanated. Don't go in pain. read more

Why do I keep returning to this place? Because I'm a poor college student that can't afford health care but I still need my annual exams done. But k continue to come to this location because everyone's so nice. The front receptionists may be eh. But they're not bad. They're not rude. They're not the happiest people but they're not rude or mean. No judgements here at PP. the medical assistants are ok. But the physicians assistant here is very nice. She's always very nice. She makes you feel comfortable and at ease. I really like her. I've met the main physician once and she's also very friendly but because she's busy and I don't see her often I really enjoy the PA here at this locations. Area is not the prettiest, or maybe not the safest, but it's never given me a problem. Just lock your doors. See you again in a year. read more

I am utterly displeased with their services and staff. I made an appointment for 8:45 only to get a new supply of birth control pills which literally takes less than 3 minutes to do. I walked into the building at 8:46 .. They told me that they couldn't see me as an appointment since I was late and that they will "fill me in as a walk in when they can". That is absolutely ridiculous. There is no grace period? I walked in 60 SECONDS LATE. I waited over an hour and half for them to see me, and of course once I was finally seen it took all of 5 minutes and I was a roaring 3 hours late for work. I'm new to the area and scheduled an appointment at 8:40 am. I was greeted and given paperwork to fill out waited 10 min. I Was called into the room 15 min later and asked questions the nurse took my pressure n weight said doctor would be in shortly. It took the doctor 45 min to come in and did my procedure explained everything very well. I made an appointment for this location and was very satisfied with the services. I highly recommend calling in and making an appointment, as there may not be space available for walk ins. For those without insurance, there are forms you can fill out that will see if you qualify for a program (I believe it's Family PACT) for preventative, reproductive services. They are friendly and informative and can help women access birth control, HIV/STD testing and pap smears. This is such an important resource for our communities and I think they do a marvelous job! read more

I understand if it's a 15 to 20 minute wait but I've been waiting for almost 2 hours and have not been called in just for a depo shot refill. Patience is running out. Don't over book patients appointment and can't even handle it. All about production but what production is there when they can't even handle the amount of patients taken in? I have been to this location twice and both times the staff was extremely cordial, considerate, and discreet. I had an appointment both times, but the second visit had a wait time of about two and a half hours. However, once I was with the technician and the doctor, they were very apologetic and I never felt rushed. They were kind and providing a service at little or no cost, so I didn't feel the need to complain like other patients. I felt valued and informed, and would recommend this location to a friend. Came in for my depo renew and was required to give urine to test for pregnancy, despite being on my period so I'm clearly not pregnant. Then they want to tell me I didn't respond correctly to thier questions. Claimed I didn't listen and just auto replied. Excuse me for knowing the ansewers. This was my first few times going to plan parenthood and the clinician told me that I have to get an iud insertion when I'm on my menstrual cycle because my cervix was too low so I set and appointment with them and the lady told me if i start my cycle early or later than what the date say I can just walk in the morning when they open and tell them so I did and the front desk lady told me off and say that they couldn't do it and she told me it was a miscommunication which I understand but then I ask what if the next appointment happens to be like this situation. The lady then got angry and told me that "there is no offices that closes five days a week" like I was stupid. I had another appointment today at 8:20, I was there at 8:26-I was late of course- and they didn't want to take me in. They said their 8:30 already went in. I used to like this planned parenthood but after todays experience Im very displeased. I made an appointment for 8am, got here on time at 8am, and just came for birth control pills refill and I been here for over an hour. Whats the point of giving me an appointment at 8 when I dont get seen until 9? I mean they dont seem busy... I got here before it opened and there were about 4 other people. And I dont think any of them made an appointment at 8am. Im so irritated that I only came here for a simple refill and I have to wait over an hour to get it. If they know I have an appointment at 8am and just came for a simple refill I deserve priority because Id take up no time!!! Why put people who will take up more time before me?
