Today I told another doctor in the same office that one of the referrals they had given me was a really bad fit for me and I didn't wish to continue with said referral. The doctor immediately jumped to insisting I was the problem instead of the referral who made it very clear she had no clue what she was doing (she told me she never handled clients for my reason of referral and kept leaving to consult another doctor)... It's been my experience that the doctors of this office are assumptive, judgmental, and aren't fully concerned with the wellbeing of their patients...

I'm a high risk patient and she understood my concerns for why I was high risk. My pregnancy ended in miscarriage and she did my surgery for D&C she is awesome at what she does. She cares. I got pregnant again last September I went back to her cause we really like her and she's knows my history with previous pregnancy. She prescribed meds to help me with my pregnancy she also did the surgery for a TVC(TransVaginalCerclage) at 12 weeks. My whole pregnancy I was high risk placed on bed rest at 21 weeks due to failing TVC. Dr. Delker said I would make it to 30 weeks. Well I didn't my baby was born at 24 weeks 5 days. Nothing could stop it my TVC failed to hold my baby in to term. I was sent to shands due to my baby coming so early. I lost my son after 21 days in the NICU. I called Dr. Delkers office to see if she would see me for my postpartum apt. Of course she did cause she's the best. At my apt on 4/18/18 we discussed that if I ever get pregnant again I would need a TAC(TransAbdominal Cerclage) she was honest and said she doesn't perform that surgery but there are doctors at shands who can and does. she didn't hesitate to get a referral to shands so I could have a consult with doctors who perform the surgery. I believe awesome doctors need to be recognized. She didn't have to be my OB but she chose to be. She has awesome nurses who work with her also. They are caring. Short wait time,she explains everything,she's family oriented. She's the best in the practice.

I was there someone who we thought might be suffering from appendicitis. He kept us in the room for two or three hours while he verified all the test that indeed it was that rather than some of the other problems that can manifest with the same symptoms he prescribed treatment with antibiotics and she is doing very well. I don't just recommend the facility. I recommend this as a very unusual old-school. Very careful very up-to-date on the literature healer that can be a person for anyone in need.

Ramp to the sidewalk leads to steps in both directions. I'm in a wheelchair . Office Staff said yea, no one ever knows how to get in and they don't know why they don't have signs. My daughter used the stairs and found out I needed to go in the street and enter through a side entrance where they have a single wheelchair lift inside. Then we find out although their Website says they accept my insurance, they don't. The receptionist says everyone tells them that they accept this insurance but they do not. Said no one can ever show her where it says that they do, like somehow we all imagine it. Within 30 seconds showed her and yes, says it right there. Not like it would change anything but now maybe they can change it. Still, my insurance no longer accepts my previous doctor and my new doctor can't see me for 3 months. I have multiple sclerosis and need medication and new handicap placard. $220 for a visit plus any tests they need, but I have no choice, I have to see someone. I paid the fee. While waiting to be called back, they let me know they can't fill out a form for placard. Initially it was because they didn't have a form. Then it was because although they have the placard required MD ( as opposed to DO, NP, etc) they are not authorized to fill out the form. By then I gave up. It shouldn't be this hard. When we were leaving, the receptionist pointed at the lift I should use so I didn't have to go in the street around the bank to use the outdoor ramp. Never used one like this before . The ramp was steep and I was nervous about tipping back but my daughter helped me use it. Not any offer of any assistance. This place was empty. A walk in clinic with no one in or out the 30 minutes we were there. I think I know why lol. The receptionist was polite. Just unhelpful. As she was aware of all of these issues, one would think someone would do something to resolve them.

Because it would take us too much time to look up your chart. And - When I asked for help accessing my on line portal, she slipped down to rude. I'm thinking my tone of voice might be triggering this - but I am currently in pretty serious pain- and this IS a medical practice for seniors! Front desk attitude matters, particularly when you're ill or in pain. (I should add - when I came out of my appointment a different crew was on the desk. All were friendly, personable and welcoming. He is one of the very few doctors in Gainesville who is not part of a group practice. His office is open M-Th, and on Friday he volunteers at the hospice. I scheduled an appointment with this practice because it was close to my home and I figured since they were affiliated with UF it would be good. To start off, it took about three weeks for an open appointment. They told me to arrive about 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork on the day of my appointment. My appointment time was the first one of the morning, but following instructions, I arrived early. I went to open the door and it was locked. No one was there. I waited for 15 minutes and someone finally came to open the door. What was the point of telling me to come early if they keep the door locked until the minute they officially open?! So I fill out my paperwork and wait and wait..and wait a little more. Shocking since I was the first appointment of the day. I'm finally in an exam room, the nurse takes my vitals and then I wait for the doctor. I had a couple things I wanted to discuss since I had not visited a family physician for a while. The doctor comes in and we start talking about my questions/concerns. She stops me and says "One thing at a time, we can't cover everything today". I absolutely did NOT have a lengthy list or anything major to discuss! Talking a few minutes longer she is almost positive that I'm pregnant and wants me to do a urine test. I knew there was absolutely no way I was pregnant, but I said whatever and peed in a cup. Guess what, I wasn't pregnant. After 15 minutes of accomplishing nothing, she orders a bunch of labs, which I was sent to Quest to have done a few days later. Here is where things get crazy. I received a voicemail from the nurse rattling off the results of my labs in technical terms. At the end of the voicemail she says I am being referred to UF Hematology/Oncology and they will be calling me to schedule an appointment! I am not a medical professional, so I had no idea what the results she rattled off meant and I was terrified to hear that I was being referred to an oncologist (doctor specializing in cancer). That is not something you leave on a voicemail message. I quickly call the office and ask to speak to the doctor. They would not let me speak to the doctor, but had the nurse call me back. She went a little more in depth about the results, but I still didn't really understand what the heck was going on. Hematology/Oncology called and the first appointment was a month out, which I was freaking out about. I needed answers. I called UF physicians to schedule a follow up visit so I could ask her to re test everything in the meantime just to make sure there wasn't a mistake. Her response was no and that hematology would run their own tests at my upcoming visit. I thought this was absurd, just order another round of labs to confirm the results. For one month I was extremely stressed out and terrified that I had something seriously wrong. When I finally went to my appointment with the specialist, it turned out to be a lab error. All of my stress and anxiety could have been prevented if the doctor would have re tested like I had requested. Avoid this practice like the plague.
