This office is a nightmare that will not end. After countless times they consistently screw up my prescription on a monthly basis I switched doctors. I called them, told them I am switching doctors, no need to continue filling my prescription and they continue to fill it. Their teleprompter service is 50% of the reason I left this office. Calling and speaking to someone is a pain when you have to wait on hold for an hour or two. Seriously I cant say I have ever hated a doctors office as much as this place, it's a joke being run by clowns. When I called and tried to get my prescription issue fixed (which I had to do on a monthly basis) Jar Jar Joanne ended up blaming both myself and the pharmacy for the issue, basically gaslighting me over the phone. read more

Don't waste your time. This place used to be quasi-normal, but I went in recently and it was a COMPLETE waste of time. They make you show up at a certain time but then you get to wait for at least an hour before you're seen. They were great about asking me what I called to be called and if I was a she or he etc, no, none of the above. You have my ID, just call me by my name. The doctor who saw me refused to give me the treatment I went in for stating that my blood pressure was high. I followed up with my primary care doctor, bought the machine at home, got meds, but truthfully, the home readings indicated PRE hypertension that could be reversed with diet and such. Anyway, my doctor did what they said, faxed in a note that the blood pressure was being treated. This is what THEY told me to do, and in spite of that, after all that work, they called me still DENYING MY REQUEST -- this is weeks on end WASTED over nonsense!! The doctor who called me back this morning was rude and nasty, even raising her voice when I was trying to make it clear that the problem had been dealt with because you know SHE had to be right regardless of the facts -- please find a better office if you actually want your needs met. I'm really so thankful for this Planned Parenthood and the organization as a whole. The resources here are just as good as a typical doctored office and if not- better. I came here the first time for a issue that need to be examined further and they recommended me to a free program and gave me an expedited referral to them. The doctor was so sweet and worked really well with me. The only things that really frustrates me here is the wait. I was told last time that it was "whoever gets here first" meanwhile I had an appointment. Otherwise this facility is really clean and the people who work here are very respectful. read more

I went here for a birth control implant and the experience was great. The care I received was much better then what I get from private clinic obgyn. The security is tight but safety is important. If you're having someone come with you like a significant other or friend I'd recommend that they bring their ID like a drivers license for security reasons. The wait was short less then 10 minutes and that staff was really friendly. They offered to test for STDs and HIV which is great because most doctors I've been to I've had to ask. They are really trans inclusive if that's important to you. They ask what pronouns you use. When I went there were protesters outside on the street so while it's not the clinic fault I would recommend coming in a car so you can just keep the windows closed. read more

I have been going to this place for years now and I enjoy this place and have always had positive experiences except for one time when they messed up my appointment and I ended up driving to the smithtown location to be told I didn't have an appointment even when I had a voicemail to verify it. The call center messed up the appointment but even if it wasn't that locations fault they should have still handled it better. It wasn't until the manager at the planned parent hood talked to me and had the whole situation handled much better but besides this dilemma I haven't had any other problems. read more

Pregnancy services SUCK if you're unsure if you want an abortion or to keep the baby. I know I am currently pregnant. All of the tests I had taken were positive. I wanted to know how far along I am and I was told by multiple call center reps that they'll only allow me to have a sonogram if I decide to keep the baby after a pregnancy test with them.... It truly made no sense to me and made my decision even more treacherous to make...considering I'm quite literally not allowed to know how far along I am. I will never make the mistake of thinking these people actually want to help at all. The system is busted and you SHOULD be able to know how far along you are before deciding on abortion if that's the service that person desires. I recently found out my insurance was not accepted although I've been going for over a year. The receptionists are ALWAYS so beyond rude it's uncomfortable. I wanted a pregnancy test and after finding out my insurance wasn't accepted asked for a price which got quoted "maybe 200$" depends on what they do. I then asked can you check what insurance I had before and was then asked "so you want ME to tell you what insurance you had?" As if it was a stupid question. My insurance plan did change so I was trying to figure what the issue was. The doctors and nurses are always great but I swear the receptionists and people who answer the phones are so rude I can't believe they have jobs. read more

Absolutely horrible in here. As soon as i stepped in the door, the desk worker was rude and short with me. They allow too many people to make appointments when they don't even have enough staff to take care of everyone. I was here for nearly four hours. After almost 2 hours of waiting, I finally got in, talked to a doctor and she told me someone will be in shortly to give me an ultrasound. I waited ANOTHER HOUR for someone to come give me an ultra sound. I had to redress myself and go out there because i thought someone forgot about me. It was absolutely absurd. I had the Paragard IUD for about 4 years. It was placed at this location and it was a "non-threatening" experience. My review is really about my IUD removal. Two days ago I had the Paragard removed and the procedure was pain free and the obgyn who performed the procedure was very personable. I have never felt better in my life! I forgot what it was like to have an open cervix (tmi) but it's so worth it. I'm utterly amazed at the relief if pain. I feel like I can live life "normally" now. read more

I have been going to this location PP for almost four months now and I couldn't be more pleased. I go every other week for my testosterone injections (I am ftm transgender). My doctor (Dr. Shah) and nurse (Joanne) are literally the sweetest and most helpful people. I am so glad to have them to help as I have begun my transition. There is literally nothing bad I could possibly think of regarding anything/anyone here. The wait is extremely short (never more than ten minutes); Jeniffer at the front desk is extremely kind and helps make sure I get signed in right as I walk in so I can quickly get to my appointment. I am SOOO VERY GRATEFUL for Planned Parenthood and everyone who works here as well as PP's LQBTQ services without of which I most likely would not have been able to start my transition. Today I was sent to the Smithtown office which isn't the office I usually go to and it was such a wonderful experience.. everyone was very helpful knew what they was talking about didn't make me feel comfortable gave me time to think , I wasn't rushed out we laughed together they comforted me when I was on the verge of tears and let me know that I shouldn't feel alone. the ladies who work here are the sweetest people i've ever met. they were patient, informed, understanding... i could go on and on raving about them. my biggest applaud to them is that they care. you can tell they truly care about every person who walks through the doors. they explained everything clearly and went above and beyond to make everything was as comfortable as possible. they were also discreet- they call from an anonymous #, and say they're a doctors office and only say any information if you confirm you're the one they're calling for. the building does look a little sus, sort of like an abandoned insane asylum but whatever. also beware there are jesus freaks protesting outside their gates and a few posters that are high up saying "god see what you do" but just ignore them. so annoying. read more

This place is complete bullshit. I brought my friend here to get a procedure done. I was her ride back home and when she was finished it was 1:30pm .Her phone died so she couldn't call me, but I told her I would be laying down in the waiting room. At 2pm I asked a nurse at the front desk if my friend was okay and if she was almost done. She pretended to check it seems and she told me "yes she's waking up now give her 20mins to get ready" I doze off again now it 2:45pm I went to the window again and asked if my friend was okay the nurse again said "yes they're checking her vitals". At 3:15 my friend runs out crying because she thought I left the building I told her no I've been laying here the whole time I asked the nurses twice to see if you were okay and they told me yes. They had my friend wait in a room for an hour and a half to get her ride when the whole time I was sitting in the waiting room!!! My friend said she asked nurses repeatedly if there was anyone else in the waiting room and they said no just call a cab. This is ridiculous they put my friend under unnecessary stress thinking someone left her alone by herself at the doctors. What makes it worse is that the nurses were all laughing, singing and playing around and simply not doing their job which was checking the waiting room to tell me my friend was ready to leave. This place sucks the nurses are horrible I feel bad for the doctor having to put up with them. read more

Worst place ever. They do not offer proper medical follow up I came here twice and both times ended with me having to go to the ER because the doctors are unprofessional. They send you home without pain meds and if you ask they tell you to go the ER. I will never come here again I hope their funding really does get pulled.
