Dangerous to women. No funny shit, but I went in today to buy tobacco and the old white guy with…read morethe blue eyes and the facial hair was very pushy about getting me to "come to the back" He was talking about how he had "fishing boats" in the back and when I was like "fishing boats?" (Obviously this was immediately weird to me lol) He said something to the effect of how it wasn't actually fishing boats but machines, and he wouldn't stop pushing me to come to the back with him. At least four or five times he asked me to "come to the back" with him. When I walked in the store there was nobody there, I got the tobacco I wanted and said "hello?" a few times, I could hear him in the back room. After a minute or two he came out and apologized, saying he was doing something in the back. When he first invited me to "the back" I said, "the humidor?" and he said no, the back. Where he has the "fishing boats." At my confusion and obvious suspicions about "fishing boats" he said they weren't actually fishing boats but "machines". As a woman or a girl you know to be cautious of a man trying to get you alone, and as a grown, and old, man you should be aware that the way you talk to women, especially younger women, comes off. He even started walking towards the door where "the back" was, and I asked him for the receipt several times. I just kept saying "Can I have the receipt please?" Over and over again, probably four times. He didn't even give it to me initially, he just kept telling me to come to the back, saying I should see it. He didn't hand me the receipt even, just told me that it was "right there" (on the register) He walked over to me and ripped it off the register and handed it to me. Even if I give him the benefit of the doubt, this is fucking weird. He was eager to get me to "the back" At the least it's absolutely inappropriate. At the least it's a safety issue for myself and other women. As a grown man, especially an older man, you either have some cognizance about the way your behavior will come off as predatory or you are just, frankly, a predator. I know this man is odd, (at the least) to women because of the previous interaction I had with him the last time I went into this store. I have gone here numerous times to pick up tobacco with no problems. The employees are cordial, the prices aren't bad, but the previous time I came into the store with my friend, this same older man was behind the counter, and at our arrival he exclaimed "two women!" and at our confusion he said how he "Didn't have sisters growing up" and how that makes him exclaim about women in this way. Obviously this is a huge tell that this man is weird to women. I thought he was just a freak though. After going in alone, it confirms to me that this man is a predator. Again, you could argue that he is just bad with women, that he is just weird with women, but being pushy about trying to get women to "come to the back" Sorry, but no. Please do not go here alone as a woman. Honestly, I was coming in here fairly regularly but I cannot in good conscience recommend this place. Please do not go in here at all. Really seems like a huge safety issue. Sorry, no Karen, but I am a young woman who has been alive long enough to know when men mean me harm. That man is not trustworthy, and consequently this place is not trustworthy. I cannot reiterate enough how much I feel that people should not come here. Weird guy. Weird guy for real. The way he only said this shit to me when I was alone too, and not when I was with my friend, it tells you alot. Everything about this tells you alot. Buy your tobacco elsewhere. Cigarettes are not worth whatever the hell is wrong with that man.
