This was not my first time going here, as it has been around a long time. The selection is pretty extensive and value varies depending on degree of luxury. The service varies quite a bit as well. I have had very personalized and positive service as well as feeling almost invisible and even the opposite, like I was being stalked. The value is on point, but last time I was there, felt less warm and friendly than before, less welcome to questions and less welcoming in general. Looked like people were stationed not so much to facilitate service but to maintain security, which I guess I understand. Certainly not the vibe I expected or remembered. Distinctly clinical, procedural, like no one was trusted. May have been total lack of music usually playing constantly that amped up the cold and "strictly procedural" process. Very rude customer service. I was not acknowledged at all when I was standing by the glass counters to get some assistance for a purchase. The boy at the register didn't even look my way and when I said "sir" he acted like he didn't hear me. I visited this shop several months ago, bought a pack of 3 replacement metal plates for a Pax. Opened it in the car and one was missing. Went right back inside to notify them and the guy didn't believe me. That left a bad impression but I figured they prob get people who steal and would do that so I ignored it, gave them a pass. Came here for a second time today but there won't be a third. Bought a couple of vapes. They asked me to check them before leaving to make sure they were good. One was leaking so I left it sealed and asked for an exchange. The manager, Jay, proceeded to insist that it's normal and was just overfilled and I'll have to take it as is unless it wouldn't hit. He repeated the same thing when I said I don't want something defective. We went back and forth several times as if he's giving it to me free. Then he called I guess the owner and came back to exchange it. Advice to the manager: learn to respect your customers and learn how to know when a product is faulty and that you don't sell it if it is. Learn to run a business. You made yourself look silly. Advice to owner: teach your staff manners and learn to train them better and not be petty like kids. Especially not to sell defective products, you're not running a charity. read more

I have been going to this shop for more than 10 years, but I won't be going here anymore.. There is an employee who is extremely rude and makes me not to spend any of my money in this establishment. I never went here for glass because it is extremely over priced, but the clothes are unique and one of a kind. I brought my girlfriend here 6 months ago and this female staff member behavior was unbelievable. We were just looking at clothes and she kept circling us acting annoyed and wondered if we were going to try anything on. My girlfriend ended up trying a few things on and it seemed like she was trying to watch her as she was in the dressing room. She then accused her of stealing which was ludicrous and my girlfriend flashed her tits at her to shut her up. It was absolutely ridiculous and we left angry and feeling very uncomfortable. It's like she was annoyed we wanted to look at clothes and shop around and I haven't gone back sense. Well my girlfriend and her friend went recently again because they wanted to look at cute clothes, but this demon of staff member was still employed . She continued her negative tactics at running customers out the door so they left after she made them feeling extremely uncomfortable. My husband and I have gone to this store for sometime however I don't think we will be bothering any longer. We live about 45 minutes away and when we go we usually spend a decent but there. They have a ton of things and to actually browse and look at stuff you will spend sometime there. Yet the last 3 occasions we have visited to be followed around by the employees who then try to act like they are doing nothing is gotten go be a little ridiculous. Yesterdays visit just topped the cake though. We went in together but he had to use the restroom so left to go next door because retro doesn't have a restroom. So while he was next door I grabbed a item I had been planning to buy him for Christmas, went to the counter paid for it and asked them to place it in a bag so he didn't see it. I then said I was going to continue shipping. Glanced at the items in the countertops and then went to look at other items. As I'm doing so one of the guys followed me around the store lurking in the clothing trying to act like he wasn't doing anything. Yet staring at me a following me around the whole time. It was a little much and I bought nothing else I was looking at due to this. As soon as my husband returned I asked for my bag and left. That will be the last $60 I ever spend in this place. They either fired the old employees or they have hired new ones, and they suck. I tried to buy a steamroller and they guy that was "helping" me told me that they don't carry them, bc they don't sell, yet they didn't have any in stock when a week before they had 8-10 of them. He tried to talk me out of getting one, and when he did finally showed me one, the glass was horrible. This is my second time to come in here in the last couple of weeks, and the vibe and people are just not the same. It's really too bad because it was my go to shop. I guess it's time to go elsewhere. I really want to love this store, and I love the idea of it! However, the execution is sorely lacking... Staff is always lovely but the quality of the things made here are just plain not good. Very very flimsy items being resold for way too much money. Their jewelry is beyond awful, the clothes and bags I've bought from here NEVER last long. Once I got a big crystal ring from there that literally fell apart after I wore it for five minutes and they wouldn't refund it. Also got a singing bowl and journal from here which was very expensive but cheap quality. I have given this store so many chances bc I like the vibe and staff, but when it comes down to it the owner is just ripping people off. It's way over priced. Their glass selection might be a different story, I've mostly only shopped the retail. The incense is nice at least. I wish there was a cool, original, good quality hippie store for us out here. It sucks that I've got to talk about this, but I feel a bit snaked in a situation. I'll start with this. I've been coming here for years to support local business and whatnot instead of ordering from one of the big shops online. My fiancé bought a product that was completely wrong and wouldn't go the direction I wanted to go. She then went back to exchange them and said the employee wasn't super helpful and didn't try to investigate what she should actually be buying but she figured I might keep and like it because so she did some research and bought what I actually needed this time (she actually purchased the wrong size though.) I was thinking since I've been coming here for so long they would work with me and at least let me exchange and pay difference. The dude working the counter tells me the ATF(alcohol, tobacco, and firearms.) watches them closely and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it. That's sucks because if my fiancé wants to buy me something now I've told her just get it online since she could get the wrong product. Be warned that all sales are final. I hate to sound spoiled to the new age, but it's a terrible service to guests who typically bring their money to your business. They must be getting killed from the decline in retail business to need to hang on to my 25 bucks like that. Update: because the owner commented below and I can't respond to her comment. Her manager says the SKUs were removed. I can update the photos now of the product with tags still on them with serial numbers and all that. The product should be able to be traced because ATF watches so close right? With the ATF watching so close and the only thing you have to verify inventory (the product being in the store) and or sale is the receipt of purchase? If they watch so closely there has to be a way to prove that the product is in inventory or in store. If not the ATF wouldn't know what you had just sold. If the honest answer is our owner doesn't want people to return product or try to scam us, or maybe it's that the store has an old cash register and maybe doesn't have a Point of sale system to be able to track returns and understand that cost for their business. Maybe they have a point of sale system that can track the item they just don't know how to track it so they would rather have the receipt for returns. That's what I want to hear! Not the state won't let you return the product without a receipt. It just sounds off the alcohol tobacco and firearms of Texas would come down on you guys if I wanted to trade in one thing for another without a receipt to track the transaction. If an article is sent me way to prove other wise I will delete this and write a great review because seriously I love this place and have never had to return anything I imagined it going different! The main focus here is customer service on getting the correct product in your guests hands. Price, selection, friendliness of staff, all that is great. In fact I'll update to 3 stars based off that alone! There has got to be a better way to exchange product! If seriously not like stated I will erase and write an amazing review. This location has an amazing atmosphere. As if a bunch of friends were lucky enough to work together, and you were treated as another friend throughout your visit. No fake retail personality here.
