Dr. Merriman specializes in face, breast and body cosmetic surgery and actively continues her education to stay abreast of the latest advancements in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

History

Established in 1992.

Plastic Surgery Associates of Valdosta opened its doors in 1992 under the leadership of Dr. Sonya Merriman. Dr. Merriman is a member of the AOA Honor Society, American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Medical Association of Georgia. Plastic Surgery Associates is conveniently located in Northwest Valdosta in close proximity to South Georgia Medical Center. The center conveniently serves patients in the Plantation Trace, South Georgia and North Central Florida regions. An on-site surgery suite is available to offer the very highest quality of care and service as well as privacy, convenience, and cost savings to our patients. All cosmetic procedures are performed in our office outpatient surgery suite under local anesthesia or IV sedation. After a short recovery period, patients are able to return home.

I had been at the location once regarding cool sculpting hence I was on their email list. But never looked any further into the location as I thought it was just a tanning salon and did the MedSpa Procedures which were not in my budget. Personally I'm not one to tan. When I received the email about the $20 off, I saw information about Halo Infrared Salt Therapy, Hydration Station and Red Light Therapy in which I became very intrigued. I knew a lot about the health benefits of salt therapy caves as well as benefits of red light but I really began to research in depth online. After further research, I stopped by the location. I received a thorough tour and a breakdown of what everything was. The staff was extremely knowledgeable on every piece of equipment they had & services offered! I've now been going for 2 weeks to say this place is a game changer for someone like myself with chronic health issues is an understatement! I have fibromyalgia, chronic inflammation, anxiety, back & neck issues, severe allergies and a laundry list of other health issues. I find myself with less inflammation. I'm sleeping so much better. My pain has decreased. I am just all around chill/relaxed. Oh and my skin looks AMAZING!! I make an effort to try and go daily. Picking either a halo treatment or hydration treatment along with red light therapy. The staff has helped me design what things to do with what so I didn't dehydrate myself. Sometimes I'll switch it up and add the WellSystem Relax water massage bed too. I still hope to do the cool sculpting and/or Cryo Therapy when funds permit. To think a $20 coupon got me in the door now I will find away to find the funds to maintain the monthly membership. I'm so grateful for finding this place to add a tool to manage my chronic health issues. Bonus I do get to tan for free with my membership if I choose to. I'll probably just do the spray tan when I need it for a vacation or event...lol
